Ferrothorn @ Leftovers
Ability: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 HP / 24 Def / 232 SpD
IVs: 0 Spe
Sassy Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Leech Seed
- Gyro Ball
- Power Whip

Ferrothorn counters this set fairly easily being able to just take thunderbolts and U-Turn while being completely immune to Toxic due to it's steel typing. This allows Ferrothorn to Set up his hazards against the opposing team, leech seed any mon that gets brought in after U-Turn, or just to Power Whip Tapu Koko in general.

Excadrill @ Steelium Z
Ability: Sand Rush
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Earthquake
- Iron Head
- Rapid Spin

Excadrill counters all Tapu Koko variants except HP Fire and this set is no exception. It comes in on any move and demolishes it with Earthquake. In particular, its ability to use it as a free Swords Dance, especially under sand, can be devastating for the offensive Voltturn teams it fits on. These teams lack Washtom/Zapdos and thus Exca is free to run Steelium Z and Rapid Spin to smack things and remove hazards.

Venusaur @ Venusaurite
Ability: Chlorophyll
EVs: 252 HP / 172 Def / 68 SpD / 16 Spe
Bold Nature
- Sludge Bomb
- Hidden Power Fire
- Leech Seed
- Synthesis

MVenu counters all offensive Kokos without Brave Bird, and Toxic sure as shit isn't changing that; TBolt barely tickles and Sludge Bomb OHKOs back. Even U-Turn won't help much, since MVenu can just throw out a Leech Seed instead to annoy whatever switches into it and heal off the chip.

0 SpA Venusaur-Mega Sludge Bomb vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Tapu Koko: 290-344 (103.2 - 122.4%) -- guaranteed OHKO

As for the aforementioned competition with Amoong, while it is true that MVenu dislikes Taunt variants, Amoong dislikes HP Ice variants, so it's literally a case of pick your Poison. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

reserving landorus therian

Landorus_(Incarnate).png
Landorus-Therian @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 232 Atk / 68 Def / 208 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- U-turn
- Stone Edge
- Defog

Landorus-Therian is a counter to Tapu-Koko as it won't take anything from its Thunderbolt because as part ground it is immune to its Thunderbolt and also Z-Thunderbolt, meanwhile it can intimidate Tapu-Koko
so U-Turn also won't do anything to Lando-T. Lando-T can switch in relatively safely, when Koko goes for Roost in that process Lando-T can OHKO Tapu-Koko with its strong STAB Earthquake. The onlöy thing
Tapu-Koko can offer is Toxic'ing Lando-T, but when Tapu-Koko will Toxic Lando-T thus staying in Lando-T can also OHKO Koko, Tapu-Koko has to catch it when Lando-T switches in on a Toxic therefore making Lando-T
a good answer to Tapu-Koko.

Calcs:
232 Atk Landorus-Therian Earthquake vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Tapu Koko: 402-474 (143 - 168.6%) -- guaranteed OHKO
232 Atk Landorus-Therian Stone Edge vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Tapu Koko: 134-158 (47.6 - 56.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock
232 Atk Landorus-Therian U-turn vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Tapu Koko: 47-55 (16.7 - 19.5%) -- possible 5HKO after Stealth Rock

0- Atk Tapu Koko U-turn vs. 0 HP / 68 Def Landorus-Therian: 26-31 (8.1 - 9.7%) -- possibly the worst move ever

Gliscor @ Toxic Orb
Ability: Poison Heal
EVs: 244 HP / 52 Def / 76 SpD / 136 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Roost
- Earthquake
- Facade

Gliscor fears absolutely nothing from this Tapu Koko set. It's not bothered by Toxic thanks to Poison Heal and is immune to Thunderbolt; be wary of U-turn, though, which can be annoying if the opponent has something to abuse Gliscor.

Magnezone @ Choice Specs
Ability: Analytic
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power Fire
- Flash Cannon
- Volt Switch

Flash Cannon forces out Tapu Koko and Magnezone doesn't need to worry about Toxic.

Too many good counters you can vote from, they all have a good place in the metagame
My 2 Votes are:
  1. Ferrothorn
  2. Gliscor

Sorry for the short hiatus >.<
WEEK 7

Congrats Jordy for winning this week with Swords Dance Gliscor!

WEEK 8

Slowbro @ Leftovers / Slowbronite
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 248 HP / 96 Def / 164 SpD
Bold Nature
- Scald
- Ice Beam
- Slack Off
- Flamethrower / Toxic

Slowbro has seen an increase in usage in this OLT on Balanced teams, especially its Mega Evolution. It is great at checking threats like Mega Charizard X, Excadrill, and Swords Dance Gliscor, which have seen a rise in usage this OLT as well. Find ways to break this fat shell-encased bear!

Toxapex @ Black Sludge
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
- Scald
- Haze
- Recover
- Toxic / Toxic Spikes

Toxapex counters Mega Slowbro by not caring about all the moves that it throws at it , and being immune to Toxic. Toxapex can put the pink shelled hippo on a timer with Toxic stalling it out completely , or set Toxic Spikes allowing it to put not immune pokemon on a timer whenever they switch especially Slowbro wearing it down as time goes.

hoopa-u

hoopa_unbound_by_evievsart_dbdfd9e-fullview.png
Hoopa-Unbound @ Darkinium Z
Ability: Magician
EVs: 32 HP / 224 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Nasty Plot
- Dark Pulse
- Psychic
- Focus Blast

Hoopa-U has a supergood special bulk so it can come in any time on Mega-Slowbro and it can even set-up on Mega-Bro afterwards.
Hoopa-U doesn't even need to set-up because Darkinium Z Dark Pulse OHKOes Mega-Slowbro and even a regular dark Pulse spreads out a high damage output.
Same mention goes for regular Slowbro, it also fears Hoopa-U as Hoopa-U takes nothing from its Attacks either and can use Slowbro as set-up fodder, therefore
Hoopa-U serves as a check to both Slowbro and Mega-Slowbro.

Calcs:
dmgs mega-bro and hoopa-u:
224 SpA Hoopa-Unbound Dark Pulse vs. 248 HP / 164 SpD Slowbro-Mega: 314-372 (79.8 - 94.6%) -- 50% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock
224 SpA Hoopa-Unbound Black Hole Eclipse (160 BP) vs. 248 HP / 164 SpD Slowbro-Mega: 626-738 (159.2 - 187.7%) -- guaranteed OHKO

0 SpA Slowbro-Mega Scald vs. 32 HP / 0 SpD Hoopa-Unbound: 87-103 (28.1 - 33.3%) -- 95.8% chance to 3HKO after Stealth Rock
0 SpA Slowbro-Mega Ice Beam vs. 32 HP / 0 SpD Hoopa-Unbound: 65-77 (21 - 24.9%) -- 95.8% chance to 4HKO after Stealth Rock
0 SpA Slowbro-Mega Flamethrower vs. 32 HP / 0 SpD Hoopa-Unbound: 65-77 (21 - 24.9%) -- 95.8% chance to 4HKO after Stealth Rock

dmgs regular bro and hoopa-u:
224 SpA Hoopa-Unbound Dark Pulse vs. 248 HP / 164 SpD Slowbro: 314-372 (79.8 - 94.6%) -- 50% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery
224 SpA Hoopa-Unbound Black Hole Eclipse (160 BP) vs. 248 HP / 164 SpD Slowbro: 626-738 (159.2 - 187.7%) -- guaranteed OHKO

0 SpA Slowbro Scald vs. 32 HP / 0 SpD Hoopa-Unbound: 69-82 (22.3 - 26.5%) -- guaranteed 4HKO after Stealth Rock
0 SpA Slowbro Ice Beam vs. 32 HP / 0 SpD Hoopa-Unbound: 52-62 (16.8 - 20%) -- possible 5HKO after Stealth Rock
0 SpA Slowbro Flamethrower vs. 32 HP / 0 SpD Hoopa-Unbound: 52-62 (16.8 - 20%) -- possible 5HKO after Stealth Rock

Tapu Bulu @ Choice Band
Ability: Grassy Surge
EVs: 84 HP / 248 Atk / 176 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Wood Hammer
- Horn Leech
- Superpower
- Stone Edge

While it cannot switchin for fear of Scald burns, Ice Beam, Flamethrower, Toxic or Thunder Wave, Band Bulu absolutely Bulu if it comes in freely, OHKOing max Defense variants with Wood Hammer. So, yeah, check.

Tapu Koko @ Choice Specs
Ability: Electric Surge
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 253 Spe
Timid Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Volt Switch
- Roost
- Hidden Power Ice / Dazzling Gleam

Easily comes directly into Slowbro and consistently forces it out. Damage from Scald, Toxic etc could be healed by Roost.

Greninja @ Choice Specs
Ability: Battle Bond
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Hydro Pump
- Dark Pulse
- Water Shuriken
- Spikes

Dark Pulse beats Slowbro from full, and Spikes to inflict damage to your opponents team if they switch Slowbro out.

Tapu Fini @ Leftovers
Ability: Misty Surge
EVs: 248 HP / 16 Def / 12 SpA / 40 SpD / 192 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Moonblast
- Nature's Madness
- Defog
- Taunt

Tapu Fini is a great counter for Mega Slowbro. It's able to disrupt the status spreading from Scald/Toxic with Misty Terrain, cut off its healing with Taunt, and beat away at the opposing team with Nature's Madness/Moonblast. This set can sub in Scald if Fini's being used as the primary Heatran counterplay, but Moonblast + Nature's Madness is just the set that traditionally performs the best against Mega Slowbro and its teammates.

Magnezone @ Choice Specs
Ability: Magnet Pull
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power Fire
- Flash Cannon
- Volt Switch

Magnezone is a check to Mega Slowbro. It's immune to Toxic, resists Ice Beam, and avoids the 2HKO from Scald most of the time, which gives it opportunities to switch in and 1HKO with Thunderbolt or Volt Switch.

Flamethrower can be an issue, though. It doesn't 1HKO, and Magnezone is faster, but it's still not safe to switch into.

Offensive:
252+ SpA Choice Specs Magnezone Thunderbolt vs. 248 HP / 164 SpD Slowbro-Mega: 482-570 (122.6 - 145%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252+ SpA Choice Specs Magnezone Hidden Power Fire vs. 248 HP / 164 SpD Slowbro-Mega: 53-63 (13.4 - 16%) -- possible 7HKO
252+ SpA Choice Specs Magnezone Flash Cannon vs. 248 HP / 164 SpD Slowbro-Mega: 107-126 (27.2 - 32%) -- guaranteed 4HKO
252+ SpA Choice Specs Magnezone Volt Switch vs. 248 HP / 164 SpD Slowbro-Mega: 374-444 (95.1 - 112.9%) -- 68.8% chance to OHKO

Defensive:
0 SpA Slowbro-Mega Scald vs. 4 HP / 0 SpD Magnezone: 118-141 (41.8 - 50%) -- 0.4% chance to 2HKO
0 SpA Slowbro-Mega Ice Beam vs. 4 HP / 0 SpD Magnezone: 44-52 (15.6 - 18.4%) -- possible 6HKO
0 SpA Slowbro-Mega Flamethrower vs. 4 HP / 0 SpD Magnezone: 178-210 (63.1 - 74.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Gyarados @ Gyaradosite
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 56 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 196 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Crunch
- Earthquake
- Substitute
- Dragon Dance

Mega gyarados fears absolutely nothing from this slowbro set as long as you can keep it away from status, thanks to substitute as long as you can get it in you take complete advantage of it as scald/ice beam/flamethrower do little damage thanks to gyarados solid spdef and if it chooses to mega evolve immediately its typing resisting all of slowbros attacks
