Welcome to Triple Threat, the micrometa where Pokemon can have up to three typings.

Schedule:
  • each slate there will be three typings given (there may be exceptions based on how the meta shapes up)
  • users will have 7 days create subs who have at least one of those given typings (3 typings may be forced or optional)
    • these can be either modified vanilla mons or fakemons; if you are doing fakemons id highly recommend giving them fleshed-out movepools
    • custom moves and abilities are allowed as long as they are strict clones of other vanilla moves and abilities
  • subs will be evaluated and some will be vetoed; players have 1 day to fix those vetoed subs
  • users have 2 days to vote

Pin Missile is probably a noob trap but it's there if you like having 2 moves with the dice.

Description: Strong offensive pivot/wallbreaker that relies on Tough Claw boosted moves like First Impression, Knock Off and U-Turn to pressure opponents. Liquidation and Stone Edge also pull off good damage which it can pair with Swords Dance to wallbreak effectively. Swords Dance itself can go with speed-boosting options like Rock Polish or Rapid Spin to provide some sweeping potential, though 2-turn setup is rather slow. Speaking of Rapid Spin though, it can provide you with a very active Spinner or Rocker as it can threaten heavy damage, use its utility option and then pivot out with U-Turn. It also has a very high Defense stat to shrug off hits and allow it to do its things, though without reliable recovery, it's by no means unkillable. Pursuit is the best pokemon move ever made. It can serve as a good weather abuser, too, if we ever get any. if you are really scared of getting outsped you can run triple priority with Ice Shard/Shadow Sneak/Aqua Jet lmao
Flavor: It's a ghost shark. Name comes from Carcharhinidae (a shark family) and "wraith."

Justification: Meganium, widely considered the worst starter competitively, with no niche even in the lowest tiers. Its pure Grass typing, middling stats, and no good abilities hurt it a lot. However, with the addition of a Fairy and Dragon typing, Thick Fat, more optimized bulk, and more options such as Calm Mind and Wish, it can serve as a wall and cleric much better. It can even run Calm Mind sweeping sets with Draining Kiss. It's still slow and passive however. Also watch out for Poison moves.

Its attack is also much weaker, being reliant on Sharpness-boosted attacks and super-effective moves.

It's not strong offensively and doesn't like hazards so it's susceptible to Knock Off or whatever other chip damage since there's no way this holds Leftovers. Consider this as my Grass-type sub.

Justification: Normally this typing wouldn't work without taking 50% from Stealth Rock or requiring Boots and it'd also have the blind spots of opposing Fires and Waters without Freeze-Dry. Now we can add Fighting and make it fare a bit better against both of those. I wouldn't be scared by unresisted coverage if I were you, since there's going to be a lot of those in this meta and it's not especially difficult to add in a Water or Fire with a secondary type that's resistant to Fighting if this ends up being too overbearing. So basically, this Pokemon aims to abuse triple types to boost an existing combination in a way not normally possible and leave a lot of options for people looking to answer it to help ease us into what all's possible here. Should be a good starting point because of that.
