SPOILERS! Pokemon Legends: Arceus *Leak Thread*

"Black Augurite/Peat Blocks haven't been seen in nearly a century, but now they're being found again! Incredible!"
"Wow, Psyshield Bash was thought to be a "lost" move, but Stantler have been seen starting to use them again, pokemon are such mysterious creatures"
bam, three of them easily covered

Sneasler, Overqwil & Basculegion are tied to Hisuian forms so they, and all the other Hisui forms, we can just hand wave it away with "oh they're transfer only and we're never going to acknowledge this" or "npc mysteriously has them, weird! anyway"

Since some people have pointed out that the list of "new moves for old mons" had a lot of errors (half the list is actually previously available, several Pokémon/moves were missing), I decided to go through the datamine one-by-one for changes.

*Was available previously as an event exclusive move in gen2.

**Pokémon listed in (brackets) are not available in Legend Arceus, but can evolve from a Pokémon that gets a new move.
Note that this list focuses exclusively on new moves that can't be transferred. If it was a move that was say previously available only through the 3ds Virtual Console releases or from Pokémon XD, I didn't list them (so everything besides gen1/2 events).

I'll update this post later today to have a second list sorting by Pokémon, rather than by moves (Edit: it's up)

Edit: Removed Froslass/Powder Snow. Added Happiny/Tackle, Togekiss/Calm Mind
Another Edit: cleaned up a little, and added the 2nd list.
Next Edit: Forgot Togetic/Togekiss and Ursaring being grouped with their base forme in the 2nd list.
I'm pretty sure Lopunny gets Mach Punch now.

I'd be down for the Pulse moves retaining guaranteed accuracy. Aura Sphere, the pulse move, has had that since its creation so hey why not the rest? Gives a little extra flavor to them, even if it won't necessarily come up that often in PVP; I know I'd like to have a few mof otshoe in my pocket for PVE content, certainly! Dark Pulse in particular I think people would love for battle tower runs, eh?

OK well, not Origin Pulse. Obviously. That one got 85 accuracy for a reason. But all the rest can!
I wouldn't actually mind if Origin Pulse gets perfect accuracy if Precipice Blades gets something as well. It would make up for the loss of Primal forms a little bit. A lot of slashing and scratching-type moves got boosted crit chance in PLA. I know Precipice Blades isn't really a scratching move, but it does have Blades in the name, so maybe give it a boosted crit rate as well as a slight base power buff or something.

It's listed in the dex as a regional forme.
Yeah for all intents and purposes it's just a flavorful name for "Hisui Basculin"

if there's ever something like a regional variant of something like Vivillon or the Florges line or whatever I bet it'll be similar: still follow the naming conventions the other forms use (____ Pattern, ____ color) but "officially" its still a regional form.

IMO Origin Pulse needs a buff given that the move is weaker than Precipine Blades. Wouldn't give it perfect accuracy, but a boost to 90% accuracy seems fair. Let Mega Blastoise and Clawitzer get access to it while we're at it.

As for Hisui Pokemon, are these Pokemon really extinct or is that just headcannon? I know the game technically implies it, with stuff like White striped Basculin likely evolving into the red and blue striped Basculin we see in the modern games, but I don't think its explicitly stated. Could see a lot of the mons like Ursaluna still existing in the modern day Pokemon world, but just being rare due to the specific factor that trigger its evolution being very difficult to occur naturally.

Explicitly no, it's just headcannon.

But it's a head canon that sure seems to line up with how they're treated and how the games wind up shaking out.

I always assumed Origin Pulse having a lower power than Precipice Blades is because it gets a power boost from rain while Precipice Blades doesn't get anything from sun.

It's probably because it's a special move. Gen 6 they went towards lowering all the major special moves in power by about 10 points, while the physical moves didn't. Then that just carried into Origin Pulse in ORAS

I mean to be fair, we've had stuff like that constantly in these games. Like the Hoopa rings you alluded to earlier in ORAS, ultra wormholes in USUM, and whatever the hell is going on with Ranmas Park and Dynamax Adventures.

I mean, considering that the game starts with us being sucked through an Ultra Wormhole by a different name, my money's on that one. Wouldn't even have to change anything, just "Whoops, Centaurworld Palkia/Leg Dayalga is at it again!" Alternatively, there's the way Go introduced Hisuian Voltorb, by excavating an ancient temple and finding them in there.

For the record, Laventon compares White to Red and Blue in the Pokedex, so they must already exist.

Do we know how space-time distortions work?

Only info I can find is they randomly decide to come knocking, but are the spawns fixed the moment it starts/you spawn in the area like outbreaks or can you save prior to it fully forming and reset if you don't get what you want (say a shiny since starters can only be obtained that way.)?

I want to say its random BUT

i wonder if it's based on where in the area it spawns.

Just, for example, the first time I went to coronet I had the distortion spawn in the celestica ruins area (I believe, maybe area near it?) and i found sheildon and cranidos fairly fast and was being hounded by an assortment of mons.
The next two times, it was on the middle area (where hte alpha steelix is) and both of those times I primarily saw Sheildon (with a rowlet and bastiodon on the second go around) and no Cranidos despite several spawns ocrruing. Meanwhile I saw a LOT of Dusclops, Octillery & Eevee spawns that I do not recall seeing on the celestica set

I heard it has a chance to spawn every 10 minutes on the map you are currently on. Dunno if anything increases the chances of it showing after every 10 minutes

The same goes for Ice/Shadow Rider Calyrex' signature moves, with Glacial Lance having 10 more power than Astral Barrage.

The advantage that Origin Pulse isn’t affected by Intimidate, hence why it’s weaker.
That, and also burn. Currently, there are multiple options to weaken physical attackers, while the options for weakening special attackers are more niche. So I guess GF decided to make it a bit more fair back in gen 6 by nerfing special attacks overall.

However, if frostbite stays around in future games, perhaps GF will change their move design policy again regarding special moves.

Not sure if anyone noticed but most Wardens have Pokemon SE against the Noble they take care of:
Liam's Sliggo is SE against Kleavor
Calaba's Bibarel is SE against Ursaluna
Ingo's Gliscor is SE/Resists Sneasler
Melli's whole Team is SE against H-Electrode
Sabi's Rhyperior and Electivire are SE against H-Braviary

Only Mai, Palina and Gaeric seem to have Pokemon of the same type as their Nobles (and you can make an argument H-Growlithe is SE against H-Arcanine as Rock is one of it's weaknesses).

Interestingly Arezu wants you to show her a Misdreavus and Kirlia which Resists and Are SE against H-Lilligant and Iscan asks you to bring a Dusclops which is SE against Basculegion.

Just some food for thought.

Ultra Wormholes are the cause of the legendaries appearing in Dynamax Adventures

Ultra Wormholes are the cause of the legendaries appearing in Dynamax Adventures
The Ultra Wormholes are why the ultra beasts appear (it it's own seperate event that happens), but the legendaries have been there for a while. It's the weird crown tundra dynamax adventure's den specifically that has the other legends show up iirc.

Stats are calculated very differently. Not only are there no IVs or EVs, but even the formula for turning base stats into raw stats is different. You can find more information here, but the jist is that stats are higher than normal, but grow slower. The game also has some other system for boosting stats that takes the place of EVs. It's kinda complicated so I don't really know how to summarize it, but you can read about it here.

There are also no hidden abilities (or regular abilities) used in Legends, but they still exist internally, so we know what abilities the new Pokemon will have when they become available in a traditional game.

There is currently no way to connect to Home, correct.
Thanks. That is quite the change but not unexpected given the nature of the game.

Can we get non-Hisuian forms for the starters and other Pokemon types?

Can we get non-Hisuian forms for the starters and other Pokemon types?
Only Sneasel, which I'm pretty sure is only in so that way you can get Weavile(Since Hisuian Sneasel evolves into an entirely different species), and thus have all 107 Sinnoh Pokemon in a Sinnoh Prequel

Aside from Sneasel there is also, somewhat inexplicably (I can only assume they wanted at least ONE regional form and grabbed the most popular one), Alolan Vulpix. There's a quest where an alolan corp. member loses their vulpix in the icelands and lets you keep one.

I heard it has a chance to spawn every 10 minutes on the map you are currently on. Dunno if anything increases the chances of it showing after every 10 minutes
Maybe not cause I just had one spawn almost immidiately after traveling to obsidian fieldlands.

On another note.. I tried skipping to midday (I found two shiny shinx before a pichu... and betting on a third) as the space distortion was forming, and it just flat out despawned before it fully formed. Didn't see it noted anywhere sleeping flat out skips them.
