Raichu @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Lightning Rod
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Volt Switch
- Thunderbolt
- Focus Blast
- Hidden Power [Ice]
So, as it has been noted, the team desperately craves a scarfer; however, given the team's lack of hazard support, another mon weak to Stealth Rock is probably a bad idea. It also struggles with offensive Flying-Types. Hence, Scarf Raichu. It has good coverage for this team, it outspeeds ~everything (barring speed boost Ninjask and Scarf Floatzel), which is really nice because it can outspeed Scarf Dodrio and CB Ninjask. It also provides a little more support against opposing Electrics.
scarf lopunny (puke)
The winner is 2xTheTap! I cooked up a team for once because people wouldn't give me anything, so what's my last? Also teambuilding processes might be nice for this, I can't promise to provide them every week but since I just made this why not.
I thought a Murkrow+Simisage core would be pretty cool to break down opposing defensive mons, HP Fighting lures pawniard, and whatnot. The core starts out pretty weak to opposing Ice-types and faster Water-types though so I went with a Lumineon-Grumpig core to take those on, provide a slow pivot, and maybe removal for Murkrow. Then Rotom-F is a pretty strong cleaner that provides some Volt for the Turn, a way to revenge faster waters and birds. But what's my last?
DO NOT USE THIS TEAM, CHECK 3 POSTS DOWN FOR NEW TEAM
yeah i dont know if this team's last mon can improve beyond golem, it looks like a perfect fit
i could post a different golem set (like custap) but that doesnt seem right
and crustle doesnt fit cause its a defogger, not a rapid spinner
Yeah, I realized I totally forgot to put on SR which took a number of different mons I had in mind and invalidated them. My bad guys. Here's a similar team that's close enough but shouldn't be easily fixed by adding the exact same mon I took away, and I don't believe it's outlandishly weak to any one obvious thing. Rawmelon is the winner of round 10.5
Another personal favorite of mines. This team needs a flying check, otherwise dodrio and articuno will be a pain. Also the team lacks any real way to pressure gourg-xl so this helps in that aspect as well. Monferno + Rotom-F form a great core to pressure each other's checks.
so this team is kinda weak to dusknoir/misdreavus and other bulky ghost types and relies on simisage to actually do something to them. crustle doesn't like getting burnt by will-o-wisp and monferno relies on flare blitz to hit 'em both but the recoil will eventually wear it down. Stoutland brings a wallbreaker to the table, letting Crustle set up and sweep late game. it alternatively functions as a late-game cleaner with its coverage options but spamming return though is the safest thing to do. against dusk and dreavus, crunch is the move you should be clicking as it does a great deal of damage to them both and can take care of other bulkier pokemon as well.
I was waiting for there not to be a tie for the last week but oh well. I think rawmelon's solution better complements the team while sobi just opens it up a bit more to golem/monferno/a few other things in a more traditional wall breaking role which the team handles fine rather than one with more utility like rotom. So yeah, that's my vote melon wins, and this is going on hold until pupl is done
Chinchou @ Eviolite
Ability: Volt Absorb
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Scald
- Volt Switch
- Rest
- Sleep Talk
This team has no great electric check as gabite loses to most electric types, the team is also very weak to opposing swanna when rocks are up and this gives a great way of countering that. Chinchou actually forms a god core with swanna and machoke so this seems like a perfect fit to me.
Same idea as thisbemyalt in that it helps with electrics, but this gives Rotom-F more freedom to spam Volt Switch as well as making Swanna and the rest of the team safer. It can also help against Grumpig which can do some damage if it has Shadow Ball+Thunder Wave.
The lastmon is obviously a secondary Machoke check as he's using Life Orb Swanna and no Zen Headbutt on Metang. Grumpig was my first thought but that wouldn't fit well here as it makes the team too weak to Knock Off, especially from Leafeon. Same goes for Misdreavus. Jumpluff's actually not bad to check both Machoke and Leafeon, however having three pokemon weak to Stealth Rock is not ideal. Posting Offensive Colbur Smallgeist is tempting but it's pretty lacking in power, which this team already is....
That's why I made this special set to solve the problem. Toxic (shoutouts TTFTW) is great as it allows you to counter opposing Leafeon, as well as lure Gourgeist and allow Machoke to beat it later. Leafeon kind of can tank a Dynamic Punch and Knock Off Machoke as well if you're lucky, but you're probably not so we have Eject Button here so you can go right into Swanna after tanking a DynamicPunch
