Steel/Psychic: Someone's Pokemon

Voting ends in 48 hours

Next slate is Fairy. Types remaining are Fairy/Ice, Fairy/Rock and Fairy/Bug so no voting again this time.

Hope everyone's having a good holiday, sorry for the slight delay.

Voting is over and congratulations to koista12's Steel/Electric Togedemaru, Solarblade's Steel/Fire and MegaFlareon's Steel/Psychic Hypno!

And now the next slate-

Fairy/Ice, Fairy/Rock and Fairy/Bug
Submissions close at the 29th of December

-----

Pokemon: Ninetales Alola
Type: Fairy/Ice
BST:
88 / 67 / 80 / 115 / 120 / 120 (570)
Abilities: Queenly Majesty, Snow Warning, Magic Guard
New Moves: Earth Power, Defog, Parting Shot
Removed Moves: None
Justification/Niche: Alolan Ninetales gets a little boost in offense, speed and special defense. Queenly Majesty patches up its crippling weakness to Bullet Punch, Snow Warning is a staple for the Aurora Veil combo and Magic Guard protects it from hazards and gives it a different supporting roles with Defog/Parting Shot.

Pokemon: Minior
Type: Fairy/Rock
BST (Meteor):
70 / 85 / 120 / 85 / 120 / 110 (570)
BST (Core): 70 / 120 / 80 / 120 / 80 / 120 (570)
Abilities: Shields Down, Berserk, Levitate
New Moves: Moonblast, Play Rough, Head Smash
Removed Moves: None
Justification/Niche: Minior has a few different roles it could play. It can be the original set-up sweeper with Shields Down, as it sets up Shell Smash. Head Smash can help reaching the Shields Down 50% threshold. Its speed is higher to make it a fast tank that's immune to status.

If not using Shields Down, it will always stay in the core mode and its higher speed can make it a fairly bulky set-up sweeper if needed. Levitate is a callback to its Flying type, and an immunity can always be handy. Berserk gives it a pseudo-Shields Down while still having Meteor form's statline, except it only focuses on the special side- which is useful when relying on Power Gem for Rock STAB

Pokemon: Ribombee
Type: Fairy/Bug
BST:
75 / 55 / 105 / 125 / 85 / 125 (570)
Abilities: Multiscale, Magic Guard, Triage
New Moves: Giga Drain, Taunt, Earth Power
Removed Moves: None
Justification/Niche: Bug/Fairy resists types that are mostly aassociated with physical attacks, such as Fighting, Ground, Dark and Bug so I made its defense higher than Special Defense, which it can boost with Quiver Dance anyway. Magic Guard lets it run things like Focus Sash/Life Orb better with passive damage immunity. Triage allows it to have priority Giga Drain/Draining Kiss/Aromatherapy. Multiscale allows it set up Quiver Dance easier.

Pokemon: Slurpuff
Type: Fairy/Ice
BST:
102 / 100 / 96 / 60 / 105 / 102 (565)
Abilities: Sweet Veil (Unburdened)
New Moves: Ice Shard, Icicle Crash, Ice Beam
Niche: Now that it's made of Ice Cream, Slurpuff does what it did before, with a STAB priority move to go with its otherwise lackluster coverage. Defensively it can take a hit, which matters a bit when you need to set up a Belly Drum and live especially as an Ice type. Sure it's a little faster, by which I mean 102 is a huge improvement, but Power Creep might not agree with its power. Is it too much?

+6 252 Atk Slurpuff Play Rough vs. 252 HP / 252 Def Solrock: 178-210 (90.3 - 106.5%) -- 43.8% chance to OHKO

That's a quad resist, since Solrock here is like Heatran. Even still, Slurpuff has Drain Punch, and still has no trouble whipping it out in an emergency to definitely OHKO. Take the current stats with some salt grains, they might be nerfed if needed.

Pokemon: Clefable
Type: Fairy/Bug
BST:
105/70/93/110/100/80 (558)
Abilities: Compound Eyes/Magic Guard (Unaware)
New Moves: Quiver Dance, Bug Buzz, U-Turn
Niche: You thought Clefable was a pesky bug before? Try giving it Ground resistance and a stealth rock immunity in one set. Oh and U-Turn! In case Clefable wasn't a pivotal part of your team as is, it can now U-Turn! Have fun with Compound Sing? I mean the accuracy becomes 71%, so its not great, you're probably better using a Sleep Powder or Spore User to set sleep moves. Besides which, you sacrifice 2 otherwise amazing abilities for what may very likely be a 1 time gimmick. On the other hand, fire and bird weaknesses are bad to pick up. If Compound Sing is too much, it's gone though.

Pokemon: Articuno
Type:

BST: 90 / 65 / 100 / 110 / 125 / 80 | BST: 570
Abilities: Snow Warning / Levitate (HA)
New Moves: Moonblast, Earth Power, Calm Mind
Removed Moves: N/A
Justification/Niche: Bulky hail setter and Aurora Veil setter. Articuno has good defenses and a usable special attack stat that allows its STAB Blizzard and Moonblast to hit hard, with Earth Power as important coverage against Steel and Fire types that resist its STABs.

Pokemon: Diancie
Type:

BST: 80 / 110 / 110 / 110 / 110 / 50 | BST: 570
Abilities: Magic Bounce / Pixilate (HA)
New Moves: Play Rough, Earthquake, Shore Up
Removed Moves: N/A
Justification/Niche: Bulky attacker and Stealth Rock setter. Diancie can run physical or special sets with its physical and special Fairy, Rock, and Ground moves. Its signature Diamond Storm is the Rock-type attack every physical Rock-type wishes it had. Shore Up provides recovery and can allow Diancie to take advantage of sand teams which also boost its special defense due to its Rock typing. Magic Bounce allows it to bounce hazards and status moves back to the opponent.

Pokemon: Masquerain
Type:

BST: 80 / 70 / 80 / 100 / 140 / 100 | BST: 570
Abilities: Intimidate / Prankster (HA)
New Moves: Moonblast, Thunder Wave, Will-O-Wisp
Removed Moves: N/A
Justification/Niche: Prankster user, Quiver Dance sweeper, Sticky Web user. Masquerain can use Prankster with status-spreading moves or Sticky Web to help support its teammates. It has good special bulk and decent physical bulk, which can be effectively boosted if running Intimidate to weaken physical attackers. Lunge and Will-O-Wisp can also be used to weaken them.

Next slate is Psychic. Types remaining are Psychic/Flying, Psychic/Fire and Psychic/Fairy (yes I missed this in the last slate).

Fairy/Ice: Solarblade’s Ninetales-Alola
Fairy/Rock: Solarblade’s Minior
Fairy/Bug: Origin0’s Masquerain

Hope everyone had a good new year! So the winners are Origin0's Fairy/Bug Masquerain and Solarblade's Fairy/Rock Minior and Fairy/Ice Ninetales-Alola

Alright let's move on to the next slate! (Only a handful left!)

Psychic/Flying, Psychic/Fire and Psychic/Fairy
Submissions close at the 5th of January

Pokemon: Butterfree
Type: Psychic/Flying
BST: 80/65/70/140/120/90 (BST: 565)
Abilities:
Compound Eyes / Magic Guard (Tinted Lens)
New Moves: Hurricane, Psyshock, Focus Blast
Removed Moves: Thief
Justification/Niche: Butterfree learns a lot of Psychic moves through level-up and TM, so giving it a Psychic typing makes sense. Butterfree gets 3 useful abilities that give it versatility and unpredicability. Compound Eyes lets it become aggressive with Hurricane and Focus Blast as well as Sleep Powder and Stun Spore. Magic Guard gives it longevity for set-up and Defog support while Tinted Lens allows it to power through resistances with its high Special Attack.

Type: Psychic/Fire
BST: 86/90/70/134/70/120 (BST: 570)
Abilities:
No Guard (Dazzling)
New Moves: Flare Blitz, Swords Dance
Removed Moves: Water Pulse
Justification/Niche: Mewtwo's now legal in OU! The scientists put so much heat on the Mewtwo experiment that it had burst into flames. Fire-typing gives it firepower against usual Psychic checks (e.g. Metagross, Scizor, Aegislash). Unlike the original Mewtwo, this one has useful abilities. Mewtwo has a lot of high-powered inaccurate moves to make use of No Guard (Focus Blast, Fire Blast, Thunder, Blizzard) while Dazzling allows it to evade Sucker Punch, Shadow Sneak, and Aqua Jet. Even Chansey is not safe against this monster thanks to Psystrike. Still, it's not too overpowered thanks to its mediocre bulk, exploitable defensive typing, and hazard weakness as well as No Guard working against it.

Pokémon: Noctowl
Typing:

Stats: 120 / 63 / 83 / 106 / 116 / 92 | BST: 570
Abilities: Tinted Lens / Magic Guard / Aerilate
New Moves: Calm Mind, Psyshock, U-turn
Competitive: Now this is epic. Three fantastic abilities give it so many options for sets: should it run Scarf or Specs to spam Tinted Lens Hurricane, should it run a bulky Calm Mind set with Magic Guard, or should it try a Agility set with Aerilate Hyper Voice? All these and more would be possible thanks to its Optimization. Oh yeah, and U-turn is for momentum.

Pokémon: Darmanitan-Zen
Typing:

Stats: 105 / 60 / 105 / 140 / 105 / 55 | BST: 570
Abilities: Sheer Force / Magic Guard*
*This would be the ability that a Darmanitan with Zen Mode gains upon transformation

New Moves: Calm Mind, Stored Power, Slack Off
Competitive: It's such a shame that GF locked Zen Mode behind reaching 50% health on a frail mon. Well no longer will this cool form be nigh inaccessible: introducing Optimized Darmanitan-Zen! This Pokémon can go two different routes with how it wants to sweep: with Trick Room support, Sheer Force and Life Orb-boosted Fire Blasts and Psychics are really going to hurt coming off that already insane 140 Special Attack stat; however, a Calm Mind sweeper with Magic Guard and Stored Power would be really good as well. Slack Off gives it some much-needed reliable recovery.

Delphox
Type:
Fire/Psychic
Stats: 90/49/82/114/100/124 (Total 569)
Abilities: Sheer Force/Magician (Lightning Rod)
New Moves: Quiver Dance, Thunderbolt, Focus Blast
Justification/Niche: The ability to store lightning in its wand gives it power, or you can use Sheer Force instead. The boosted stats are no joke, 114/124 special sweeping stats with Quiver Dance is a serious contender if you can get 1 dance, god help your enemy if you get 2. Even with only one...

+1 252 SpA Life Orb Sheer Force Delphox Focus Blast vs. 244 HP / 12 SpD Eviolite Chansey: 382-452 (54.4 - 64.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

This thing will do alright against Chansey and its coverage combo of Fire/Psychic/Fight is great, and if you want to nail the Psychic combos with Water or Dragon that otherwise resist it, this Pokemon has Shadow Ball to do serious damage.

Lugia
Type:
Psychic/Flying
Stats: 111/60/115/90/124/70 (570)
Abilities: Drizzle/No Guard (Multiscale)
New Moves: Nasty Plot, Focus Blast, Fire Blast
Niche: Being Lugia means its a sea god, and thus the rain, but do gods ever miss? I think sometimes, but if Hurricane isn't your cup of tea, try Aeroblast with Nasty Plot. While slow, Lugia's fairly beefy defenses mixed with Recovery and Multiscale can give it plenty of time to set up, or stall. It's not its unbeatable Uber self, just look at those stat nerfs!

Mr. Mime
Type:
Psychic/Fairy
Stats: 70/15/65/135/120/135
Abilities:
Filter/Soundproof (Technician)
New Moves: Ancient Power, Draining Kiss, Ominous Wind
Niche: I mean Mimey here is still as frail as tissue paper, with a movepool lacking a numerous amount of vital coverage moves, but it possesses some unique abilities and can play with 90 power Ancient Power and Ominous Wind to luck hax a stat boost. 135/135 is more than just decent sweeping stats however, so glass cannon with fun abilities is how I'll define Mr. Mime. Unlike say, other glass cannons banned to ubers, Mime has no priority and falls fast to Shadow Sneak and Bullet Punch.

Pokémon: Xatu
Typing:

Stats: 95 / 85 / 90 / 105 / 90 / 105 | BST: 570
Abilities: Miracle Eyes* / Magic Bounce
*
Miracle Eyes: This Pokémon’s Psychic-type moves can hit Dark-types
New Moves: Quiver Dance, Hurricane, Moonblast
Justification: Coming later

Pokémon: Darmanitan-Zen
Typing:

Stats: 105 / 60 / 105 / 140 / 105 / 55 | BST: 570
Abilities: Sheer Force / Magic Guard*
*This would be the ability that a Darmanitan with Zen Mode gains upon transformation

New Moves: Calm Mind, Stored Power, Slack Off
Justification: later
Origin0 if you were gonna resub this for Fire-Psychic lmk and ill change it
No custom abilities or moves are allowed in Type Optimization. And you can sub Darmanitan if you want to.

Pokemon: Xatu
Type:

BST: 85 / 75 / 80 / 120 / 95 / 115 | BST: 570
Abilities: Synchronize / Magic Guard / Magic Bounce (HA)
New Moves: Hurricane, Aura Sphere, Focus Blast
Removed Moves: N/A
Justification/Niche: Magic Bounce hazard control and fast special attacker.

Pokemon: Deoxys-Attack
Type:

BST: 70 / 120 / 70 / 120 / 70 / 120 | BST: 570
Abilities: Pressure / Regenerator (HA)
New Moves: Fire Blast, Flare Blitz, Overheat
Removed Moves: N/A
Justification/Niche: Fast wallbreaker with high-powered STABs like Flare Blitz, Overheat, and Psycho Boost.

Pokemon: Gardevoir
Type:

BST: 75 / 65 / 80 / 125 / 125 / 100 | BST: 570
Abilities: Synchronize / Trace / Pixilate (HA)
New Moves: Earth Power, Ice Beam, Flamethrower
Removed Moves: N/A
Justification/Niche: WIP

Love the Noctowl and Xatu love in this thread.

Pokemon: Honchkrow
Type: Psychic/Flying
BST: 100 / 125 / 102 / 70 / 62 / 111 | BST: 570
Abilities: Super Luck / Prankster / Magic Guard
New Moves: Psycho Cut, Bulk Up, Flare Blitz
Removed Moves: N/A
Justification/Niche: Magic Guard helps with SR weakness and Brave Bird/Flare Blitz recoil. Psycho Cut for Super Luck memes. Psychic/Flying is nice for tanking physical moves from Fighting and Grass types (and EQ immunity is always nice), so a 100/102 HP/Def combo is pretty solid. Prankster is a callback to Murkrow's ability, and you can go for a priority Bulk Up + Roost for a bulky, physically boosting set.

Pokemon: Pyroar
Type: Psychic/Fire
BST: 86 / 63 / 100 / 120 / 100 / 110 | BST: 570
Abilities: Intimidate / Magic Guard / Mega Launcher
New Moves: Psyshock, Psychic, Aura Sphere
Removed Moves: N/A
Justification/Niche: Fire/Psychic has nice resistances, and 86/100/100 is pretty solid defensively. 120/110 offenses is also not bad, and you can boost it with Life Orb + Magic Guard (which also helps with hazard weakness). Plus, getting poison from Toxic Spikes is good for it to prevent Sleep/Paralysis. Intimidate can make you even more physically bulkier (plus it's a lion!) Mega Launcher can be nice since it has access to Dark Pulse and now Aura Sphere for Dark types.

Pokemon: Mr. Mime
Type: Psychic/Fairy
BST: 65 / 65 / 100 / 100 / 130 / 110 | BST: 570
Abilities: Stamina / Bulletproof / Filter
New Moves: Moonblast, Recover, Topsy-Turvy
Removed Moves: N/A
Justification/Niche: Load up those barriers, this Mr. Mime goes full on defensive! Balanced by low HP, it strives to take hits. Stamina brings its Defenses up which helps for Calm Mind sets. It can upgrade its screens to make them Bulletproof and protect itself from Shadow Balls. Filter reduces super effective hits which is also nice. Recover is a good move for a defensive mon like this, while Moonblast is a better STAB than Dazzling Gleam. Topsy-Turvy is nice to punish stat boosting mons. That said, despite the defenses, Mr. Mime is susceptible to status and hazards.

Origin0 Just checking this is only normal Deoxys?

Psychic/Flying: Jamis361's Noctowl
Psychic/Fire: MegaFlareon's Mewtwo
Psychic/Fairy: Solarblade's Mr. Mime

Just curious, what's going to be on the next slate?

Origin0 It'll actually be a mixed slate, I don't think we have enough for a full type slate anymore (I'll have to double check later)

But next slate will be a combined Water and Dragon slate of Dragon/Flying, Dragon/Water and Water/Poison

Also my votes (and hoping for a bit more votes this time)

Psychic/Flying: Jamis361's Noctowl
Psychic/Fire: Dilasc's Delphox
Psychic/Fairy: Solarblade's Mr. Mime
