Pet Mod Teammates for OU

Approved by Pet Mod Moderators
Welcome, to Teammates for OU, shortened to TFO. This is a metagame where we make custom Fakemon that serve as teammates to base OU Pokemon in gen 9, creating a metagame that should be similar to base OU by the end.

Each slate, 3 base Pokemon that are B+ ranked or higher in the official OU viability rankings are submitted. These include Pokemon that aren't OU by usage, but still serve a strong niche in the tier, such as Skeledirge. For each Pokemon submitted, you create a teammate that serves as a really strong core with them. For example, if Kinggambit was submitted, you want a teammate that can help manage its 4x weakness to Fighting and slow speed, so a fast Psychic revenge killer would be a good choice. That Pokemon could KO any Fighting types that could serve a threat to Kingambit later on.

Reminder that Tera is banned in this format, so that should not be a factor when considering teammates. Even if a Pokemon that is reliant on Tera like Garganacal is submitted, consider other factors. Garganacal is vulnerable to special wallbreakers for example, so create a Pokemon that can easily cripple or knock out said threats. A good example is a special wall that resists the types Garganacal is weak to, and can cripple wallbreakers with moves like Knock Off. Without relying on a controversial mechanic, the metagame should be fresh and more interesting.

Also, realize that you do not need to restrict yourself. Consider every possible set each OU Pokemon submitted will use. You're allowed to create teammates based on any set, or multiple. Just try to be creative.

Despite the fact that every Fakemon submitted should serve as a teammate to an original OU Pokemon, these original Pokemon currently aren't planned to be included in this metagame. The reason for this is to create a more unique experience without bloating the original meta. Hopefully the end result will be similar to base OU, and all the teammates can work with each other rather than having to rely on canon Pokemon. However, after enough slates have passed, we may consider allowing the original Pokemon in if that's what the community desires.

Misc Rules:
- Custom elements are banned, as this metagame is trying to be similar to base OU without any new gimmicks
- Sprites are allowed for any new Pokemon submitted, but don't make it a part of your submission to prevent any voting bias

Slate 1: Generational Threats
:sv/Great Tusk: :sv/Corviknight: :sv/Greninja:

For our first slate, we have three classic compeititive Pokemon: Great Tusk, Corviknight, and Greninja. All three were massive metagame presences in the original generations they were introduced in, fitting on a variety of teams and centralizing the tier. While Greninja and Corviknight aren't quite as strong as they once were, they still managed to solidify an OU niche even now. But as strong as these Pokemon are, they can't always win entirely by themselves, so let's create three teammates to form pairs with each one. Reminder that you can only submit one teammate for each Pokemon. Now let's get this pet mod started!

Original Pokemon: Great Tusk
Fakemon Name: Lotushine
Typing: Grass/Water
Abilities: Solar Power/Chlorophyll/(Drought)
Weight: 6,4 kgs
Stats: 130/60/60/80/100/60 (490 BST)
Movepool: Giga Drain, Heal Bell, Hydro Steam, Ice Beam, Leaf Storm, Leech Seed, Synthesis, Weather Ball, Wish, U-Turn I am too busy to add flavor moves for now
Explanation: Special wall that sets up Sun to activate Protosynthesis and can Wish Pass. Shares some weaknesses like Flying and Freeze-Dry, but also helps take on special Water and Grass types while making Tusk much stronger.

Original Pokemon: Corviknight
Fakemon Name: Moulbolt
Typing: Ground/Electric
Abilities: Well-Baked Body/Sand Veil
Weight: 34,5 kgs
Stats: 73/57/55/117/158/90 (550 BST)
Movepool: Discharge, Earth Power, Overheat, Stealth Rock, Thunderbolt, Volt Switch Too busy to make a full movepool for now
Explanation: Immune to both Fire and Ground, can pressure Gholdengo too. Generally, WBB Ground type is pretty sick for OU, dealing with Heatran and Iron Moth really well and this also covers Zapdos. No reliable recovery though.

Original Pokemon::greninja:
Fakemon Name: Coineutron
Typing:

Abilities: Volt Absorb / Good As Gold
Weight: 0.1kg
Stats: 88 / 75 / 90 / 125 / 90 / 92
Movepool: Thunder, Thunderbolt, Nasty Plot, Trick, Focus Blast, Shadow Ball, Recover, Volt Switch, Heat Wave, Make It Rain, Spikes, Stealth Rock (will finish this if it wins)
Explanation: turns out the ou greninja set is ran on rain teams, likes hazard chip against opponents and likes hazard removal being prevented. so i ran the typing with stabs that become nukes under rain, the ability which prevents defog from being used, sets hazards, and gives an offensive presence

Original Pokemon: :great tusk:
Fakemon Name: Sugarache
Typing: Poison/Fairy
Abilities: Aroma Veil/Thick Fat | Water Absorb
Weight: 90kg
Stats: 90/31/70/120/105/124 (540)
Movepool: Poison Jab, Play Rough, Wild Charge, Flare Blitz, Sludge Bomb, Sludge Wave, Ice Beam, Moonblast, Dazzling Gleam, Flamethrower, Fairy Wind, Sludge, Acid, Lick, Leer, U-Turn, Parting Shot, Toxic, Rain Dance, Sunny Day, Gen 9 universal TMs
Explanation: Counters a bunch of stuff Great Tusk is weak to, but not everything, while being a good mon itself, with good speed, special attack and special bulk, as well as a decent offensive type but great defensive type, and good coverage in Flamethrower, Ice Beam, and being able to pivot out with Parting Shot or U-Turn, it threatens many of the mons that offensively check Great Tusk, like Meowscarada, which it outspeeds by 1 point, Iron Valiant, special Dragapult, Tornadus-T, non-dd Baxcalibur, Moltres, it forces Enamorus to run EP to deal with it, and even then it can probably take some hits, and can also threaten mons that defensively check Great Tusk like Corviknight and Landorus-T, it can also choose if it wants to switch into Water-type attacks or Ice-type attacks directed to Great Tusk with Water Absorb and Thick Fat, but both are hit superefectively by Psychic, i felt like this was necessary since Great Tusk is already a top meta threat, as well as Sugarache being quite frail physcally defensively, and not having any tool threaten the opponent if it plays passively aside from just attacking, and not hitting as hard as other top special attacking threats in the meta

Original Pokemon: :greninja:
Fakemon Name: Cottermoth
Typing:
Bug/Ground
Abilities:
Compound Eyes/Friend Guard | Cotton Down
Weight: 10kg
Stats: 120/80/90/90/110/30 (520)
Movepool: Bug Buzz, Earth Power, Spikes, Stealth Rock, Earthquake, Heat Wave, U-Turn, Teleport, Encore, Toxic, Thunder Wave, Taunt, Recover, Wish, Counter, Dazzling Gleam, Lunge, Struggle Bug, Mud Slap, Mud Shot, Bug Bite, Cotton Spore, Growl, Rain Dance, Sandstorm, Universal TMs
Explanation: One of the things Greninja really struggles with, is surprisingly, outspeeding opposing mons, since it has to normally use Choice Specs or Life Orb to make its damage output better, since it has 103 SpAtk, so any Choice Scarf attacker, or mons naturally faster (also priority users) can come in on it and very easily OHKO it due to its paper defenses, because of that same reason, it also struggles to take kills, so Cottermoth tries to address both, it has many chipping moves, as well as hazards, which Greninja loves so it can get kills on mons it wouldnt normally get, as well as Wish, which when paired with a pivot move, also helps Greninja heal off from hazard damage, Cotton Down helps Greninja a lot, since Cottermoth can slow pivot out to help Greninja pressure mons it wouldnt normally be able to, as well as a type that pairs well with Greninja's weaknesess, since it resists the Fighting and Bug type attacks that Greninja is weak to, helps against opposing offensive mons using Eq, which would probably OHKO Greninja, and its also inmune to Electric, and neutral to all of its other weaknesess, Cottermoth is still good on its own, with its good typing, amazing movepool with Wish, Taunt, Encore, Thunder Wave, Recover, Teleport/U-Turn, Toxic, and hazards, and great bulk

Original Pokemon: :corviknight:
Fakemon Name: Dryarena
Typing:
Ground/Ghost
Abilities:
Water Absorb/Cloud Nine | Thick Fat
Weight: 100kg
Stats: 80/115/70/40/120/90 (515)
Movepool: Earthquake, Poltergeist, Shadow Claw, Flare Blitz, Stone Edge, Rock Slide, Icicle Crash, Ice Spinner, Bulk Up, U-Turn, Recover, Shadow Ball, Scorching Sands, Earth Power, Flamethrower, Ice Beam, Mud Slap, Mud Shot, Shadow Sneak, Hex, Rock Throw, Astonish, Night Shade, Will-o-Wisp, Tackle, Leer, Sunny Day, Sandstorm, Universal TMs

Explanation: It can switch onto both weaknesses from Corviknight with Thick Fat, which also gives it a neutrality to Ice, as well as being able to take on weather teams, which Corviknight hates, since it can cancel those weathers with Cloud Nine, it can also pivot around with U-Turn and can deal heavy damage to Corviknight counters like Heatran, Garganacl, Gholdengo, Zapdos Glowking, Moltres, Landorus-T, Iron Moth, Hatterene, Skeledirge, etc, its also a good mon on its own, with an amazing offensive type combo, as well as great SpDef, the ability to boost up with Bulk Up, and great coverage in Flare Blitz, Stone Edge and Icicle Crash, and Water Absorb to be inmune to Water-type moves

Original Pokemon: :greninja:
Fakemon Name:
Forgelina
Typing: Fire / Steel
Abilities: Sand Stream | Vessel of Ruin
Weight: 340 kg
Stats: 95 / 78 / 104 / 127 / 79 / 71
Movepool:
Useful: Magma Storm, Will-O-Wisp, Sand Tomb, Substitute, Metal Sound, Flash Cannon, Smart Strike, Lava Plume, Corrosive Gas, Leech Seed, Spiky Shield, Heavy Slam, Iron Defense, Weather Ball, Magnet Rise, Rock Blast, Play Rough
Flavor: Shadow Ball, Flare Blitz, Fire Fang, Fire Punch, Flame Charge, Giga Impact, Hyper Beam, Solar Beam, Sunny Day, Ancient Power, Attract, Charm
Explanation: Pokémon purposefully hard to switch into dedicated towards weakening through trap and chip damage Greninja's checks namely Rotom-Wash, Toxapex, Assault Vest Slowking-G or Clodsire if it decides to run Magnet Rise. Sand Stream lets it further damage its trap targets and use Weather Ball to beat Moltres, Skeledirge and Volcarona.

Original Pokemon: :great tusk:
Fakemon Name:
Wonderflower
Typing: Grass / Psychic
Abilities: Regenerator | Grassy Surge
Weight: 115 kg
Stats: 90 / 95 / 55 / 32 / 125 / 23
Movepool: Headlong Rush, Toxic Spikes, Power Whip, Toxic, Mortal Spin, Flip Turn, Fire Lash, Sappy Seed, Psychic Fangs, Synthesi
Explanation: Either an Assault Vest user or a slow pivot setting Grassy Terrain to give more recovery to Tusk. Its raw bulk lets it check most special threats while it's itself weak to U-Turn users and hazards, making it like the presence of Tusk as a reliable Spinner.

Original Pokemon::Great Tusk:
Fakemon Name: Toxzen
Typing:

Stats: 135 / 70 / 80 / 70 / 80 / 55
Abilities: Inner Focus / Levitate
Movepool: Acid Armor, Aura Sphere, Body Press, Bulk Up, Calm Mind, Close Combat, Defog, Gunk Shot, Heat Wave, Icy Wind, Poison Jab, Psychic, Sludge Bomb, Taunt, Thunder Wave, Toxic, Toxic Spikes
Explanation: Clears hazards with Defog and comes in on the likes of Sneasler, opposing Tusks, and Kingambit, taking a great deal of pressure off of Tusk and granting it the freedom to run offensive investment.

Original Pokemon::Corviknight:
Fakemon Name: Mirevyrn
Typing:

Stats: 92 / 66 / 86 / 134 / 82 / 110
Abilities: Heatproof / Water Absorb
Movepool: Calm Mind, Draco Meteor, Dragon Breath, Dragon Pulse, Earth Power, Muddy Water, Nasty Plot, Sludge Bomb, Sludge Wave, Spikes, Stealth Rock, Surf
Explanation: Switches into Fires and Electrics that give Corv trouble, like Volcanion and Rotom-W. Also matches up nicely against Dondozo thanks to the latter's reliance on Water STAB and vulnerability to repeated Draco Meteors, compensating for Corv's inability to force Dozo out.

Original Pokemon::Greninja:
Fakemon Name: Kelpest
Typing:

Stats: 51 / 43 / 106 / 109 / 102 / 70
Abilities: Cursed Body / Drizzle
Movepool: Body Press, Giga Drain, Grass Knot, Hydro Pump, Leech Seed, Flip Turn, Spikes, Stealth Rock, Surf, Synthesis, Toxic Spikes, Water Spout
Explanation: Sets Rain for Greninja, brings it in with Flip Turn, and forces chip on its answers either through hazards or by forcing them in with Water STAB. Can also run Cursed Body to enable Synthesis and allow itself to set hazards against foes that would otherwise just repeatedly click Rapid Spin.

Original Pokemon: Great Tusk
Fakemon Name: Saunatary
Typing: Fire/Flying
Abilities: Flame Body/Storm Drain
Weight: 6.8 kg
Stats: 60/60/90/115/100/105 (BST 530)
Movepool: Calm Mind, Flamethrower, Bleakwind Storm, Air Slash, Scald, Grass Knot, Energy Ball, Defog, U-Turn, Overheat, Eruption, Hurricane
Explanation: Switches in on Water-types that would trouble Great Tusk and give a boost to Saunatary in turn because of Storm Drain and also has hazard-removing properties.

Original Pokemon: Corviknight
Fakemon Name: Snoil
Typing: Water/Ground
Abilities: Analytic/Technician/Mold Breaker
Weight: 6.3 kg
Stats: 65/110/120/90/110/45 (BST 540)
Movepool: Earthquake, Flip Turn, Liquidation, Swords Dance, Rock Blast, Poison Jab, Poison Fang, Scald, Bulldoze
Explanation: Goes after Corviknight's two weaknesses. Mold Breaker for Levitate mons. The other two abilities I just think are neat.

doing weights and fleshed out movepools if my subs win, will do the other two subs at some point today or tomorrow hopefully

Original Pokemon: Greninja
Fakemon Name: Wizzolt
Typing: Electric / Psychic
Abilities: Clear Body / --- | Competitive
Weight: something
Stats: 85/75/70/115/85/110 (540)
Movepool: Volt Switch, Thunderbolt, Psychic, Focus Blast, Calm Mind, Shadow Ball, universals
Explanation: This felt like a no-brainer for me. Greninja is naturally a pivoting-heavy Pokemon that struggles most with opposing Waters and sometimes certain Grasses so an Electric is perfect for this. Volt Switch lets you gain momentum off of Water-types and chunk Grass-types that scare you while allowing Greninja free opportunities to switch in, and you hate Ground-types which Greninja can manage a lot better. Good as Gold matches nicely with the Spikes Greninja likes to set or be paired with but is balanced by low bulk and awful defensive typing - I did not realize we already had an Electric with that so I changed it just in case there's concerns over my sub being too similar. Also made this part Psychic just to give it something to do into Grounds and to hit Amoonguss, as Amoonguss would be impossible for this core to make progress against but I don't want it to do too well into every Grass-type.

Fakemon Name: Porcupice
Typing: Ground/Ice
Abilities: Rough Skin | Moxie
Weight: 50 kg
Stats: 90/120/80/60/90/110
Movepool: Icicle Crash, Earthquake, Brick Break, Swords Dance, Ice Shard, Stealth Rock, Rapid Spin
Explanation: Corviknight's greatest asset is being a slow pivot for strong breakers to come in safely, and this mon definitely benefits from it while helping Corviknight's weakness to Electric. It threatens back Fire types and has access to Rapid Spin too. Ig think of Mamoswine but faster.

others still wip

Original Pokemon::greninja:
Fakemon Name: Coineutron
Typing:

Abilities: Volt Absorb / Good As Gold
Weight: 0.1kg
Stats: 88 / 75 / 100 / 130 / 100 / 92
Movepool: Thunder, Thunderbolt, Nasty Plot, Trick, Focus Blast, Hurricane, Recover, Volt Switch, Heat Wave, Make It Rain, Spikes, Stealth Rock (will finish this if it wins)
Explanation: turns out the ou greninja set is ran on rain teams, likes hazard chip against opponents and likes hazard removal being prevented. so i ran the typing with stabs that become nukes under rain, the ability which prevents defog from being used, sets hazards, and gives an offensive presence
Coineutron is basically just a blatant upgrade over Zapdos who is already one of the strongest Pokemon in OU, has higher bulk with Nasty Plot and way better abilities. I don't know if I'd call it blatantly overpowered but this is overtuned at best. Cut its HP and SpA by at least 10 each, and also replace Good as Gold.
Original Pokemon: :corviknight:
Fakemon Name: Dryarena
Typing:
Ground/Ghost
Abilities:
Water Absorb/Cloud Nine | Thick Fat
Weight: 100kg
Stats: 80/130/70/40/120/90 (530)

Dryarena has one of the best offensive typings in the game and really big stats across the board, way more than I think a slower breaker needs. Poltergeist needs very careful balancing to be okay. Either remove Poltergeist or cut its Attack by 10-20.

Slate 2: Paradoxes

:sv/Roaring Moon: :sv/Iron Valiant: :sv/Iron Moth:

We're now moving on to our second slate, which focuses on Paradoxes! Roaring Moon, Iron Valiant, and Iron Moth are all top-tier offensive threats that take great advantage of Booster Energy. However, they all have slightly different roles. Roaring Moon serves as a physical sweeper with Dragon Dance, Iron Moth is a late-game special cleaner, while Iron Valiant is a versatile wallbreaker that can run physical, special, or mixed sets with its large movepool. However, these Paradoxes still appreciate the extra help from teammates to clean opposing teams as swiftly as possible. Let's create some new Pokemon to form strong cores with them!

One a side note, the spreadsheet is here! The link can be found in the original post!

Original Pokemon: :roaring-moon:
Fakemon Name: Armorgeist
Typing: Steel/Ghost

Weight: 120 kg
Stats: 100/120/110/60/95/70
Movepool: Iron Head, Swords Dance, Shadow Sneak, Spirit Shackle, Parting Shot, Night Slash, Agility
Explanation: Switches into Fairy, Dragon, and Fighting moves for Roaring Moon. It hits hard with a Swords Dance up but is relatively slow unless you do double setup with Agility.

Original Pokemon: :iron-valiant:
Fakemon Name: Jellorant
Typing: Water/Dark
Abilities: Poison Heal
Weight: 50 kg
Stats: 80/90/80/115/100/110

Explanation: Wallbreaker that helps Iron Valiant sweep late game.

Iron Moth later
