SPOILERS! Scarlet & Violet: The Teal Mask

From Bulbapedia:

The first six mochi each provide one effort value (EV) in a particular stat, similar to Feathers. This consumes the mochi.

The seventh mochi, the Fresh-Start Mochi, can be used to reset all of the base points of a Pokémon’s stats.”
why do the main 6 mochi even exist then. the game already has feathers and vitamins, they don't add anything new or interesting. be cooler if they did IVs.

Flavor, mostly.
You earn the mochi from the festival minigame and its Rural Japanese Festival with a focus on rice paddies so you get mochi instead of bottles of vitamins or feathers

I think it is to be more similar to the culture. Mochi is a part of Asian and Japanese culture, which is what the Kitikami region is based on, so it makes more sense then Feathers.

Thanks. It’s good to see that Ursaluna that perfect Scrappy Normal+Fighting coverage and can hit likes of Corviknight.
And is that Vacuum Wave (with better Scrappy) I see too? This thing is looking way spicier than I thought.

Reminder:
- Moonlight
Sucks that it has such a large physical movepool

Frankly, I might be smoking copium a bit too hard, but I feel like Blood Moon Luna might possibly be even better than regular Ursaluna?

Calm Mind + Recovery in Moonlight is a VERY big deal. Stat-wise BL Ursaluna is even bulkier on the physical side than regular Ursa, while it's especially weaker on the special side, I can see setup Ursa Sets investing fully in spdef work very well with CM.

I think most people don't realize just how good normal hits coverage wise, Blood Moon + Earth Power is perfect coverage on this mon, with EP hitting the few steels and rocks in the metagame. Also you have a lot item freedom with this Ursa, obviously you don't have status immunity, but you're also not on an initial timer with flame orb.
What item would you give this build?

wait a second

they just made a directly better version of my favorite pokemon with very similar stats, one shared type and just a way better movepool

lmao i'm never getting nasty plot espeon am i
be grateful—we got espeon with magic bounce in gen IV and this was much of the reason a whole ass move in baton pass has been outright and retroactively banned every single generation since

i'm much more excited about them giving espy draining kiss now (and only it as an eeveelution got it, aside from sylveon who's always had it). plus espy has recovery over munki

cm+draining kiss is near-broken on anything that gets it (spectrier, magearna, hatterene), espy doesn't need nasty plot, neither espy nor munki have quite the movepool to benefit from it (tera blast is a moot point)

Lets not pretend moonlight is good recovery though, hell some of us were hype when we thought clef learned slack off for that reason.

Moonlight is sufficient if your odds of dealing with Sand/Rain/Snow are lower than Clear or Sun, which is a distinct possibility this gen with only 2 Snow users, Tyraniturn being a prospect but yet to play out,. and Paradoxes encouraging Sun
