Pet Mod Ironmons (Slate 4)

I gotta do one. I’m allowed, right?
:sv/torkoal:
Name: Fiery Pillows
Original Pokémon: Torkoal
Type: Fire / Ground
Ability: Protostnthesis
Stats: 103 / 47 / 165 / 101 / 111 / 43
Paradox: Past

New Moves: Recover
Removed Moves: Solar Beam

Competitive Look: This thing looks to be an absolute defensive behemoth that’ll be hard to take down. A fast Water type like Greninja should do the trick though. Fiery Pillows can hit decently hard though, probably giving Gambit a hard time.

The Lore: These kind of Pokémon seemed to be Torkoals that grew accustomed to living in Volcanos, having stronger shells and blackened smoke.

Appearance: The Shell should have a more volcanic look to it and curve upwards at a sharper angle. The smoke should be dark gray and the shell should be black. The holes in the shell should give a deeper red that glows. The bonds on Torkoal’s neck and legs should also be black. Torkoal should look more aggressive and his body should have the appearance of exposure to Volcanic smoke.
im blind and embarassed at myself. um, as stated again, this slate's theme is legendaries. so please base your mon on a legendary mon, torkoal can be submitted in another slate ^^;

:groudon-primal:
Name: Iron Furnace
Original Pokemon: Groudon (Primal Reversion)
Type: Fire/Steel
Stats:
50/148/86/98/146/62 (590)
Abilities: Quark Drive
Paradox Category: Future
Movepool Changes (Relative to Base Groudon):
Added:
Blast Furnace, Flash Canon, Ember, Heat Wave, Electric Terrain, Smart Strike, Self Destruct, Rising Voltage.
Removed: Bulk Up, Heat Crash, Fire Blast, Flamethrower, Eruption, All Ground Moves except for Spikes, All Fighting and Rock Moves, All stat boosting moves except metal claw, All coverage (Anything that isn’t STAB) with 80 Base power or higher except for Tera Blast, Iron Head, Dig, and Lava Plume, Shadow Claw, Scary Face.
Fire/Phys/55/100%/10 (16)/Protect
Secondary Effect:
Super Effective on Water, 10% Burn

Effectively a Fire type Freeze dry, 15 BP weaker to account for the monstrous 148 attack + Sun and/or Quark Drive
Modeled after ancient depictions of Groudon, Iron Furnace uses a system of boilers and steel coils to produce and distribute energy for humanity, in the distant future.
According to a paranormal magazine, Iron Furnace can produce over 1,000,000 Joules of energy in just 5 seconds.

Competitive Role + Balancing Decisions:
Iron Furnace is a bulky physical sweeper. With no recovery and middling HP & Defense, its not unkillable, and it’s quad ground weakness does leave it susceptible to revenge killing. Sharing the same type as heatran, it likewise benefits greatly from tera.
Gains Rising Voltage but 98 is fairly low nowadays (especially without boosting) and Iron Furnace has to decide between Tera Grass and Tera Electric if it wants to run special.

Balancing Decisions include:
- Not giving it any real fire move above 90 BP (Except heat wave, which is 90% accurate + Special)
- I don’t care if you’re a future mon, 148 Atk + Fire + Sun is still 148 Atk + Fire + Sun
- Even 98 SpA could be awful with eruption or fire blast.
- It being unable to get a Quark Drive Speed Boost
- Mostly so that you have more reliable R-Killing counterplay
- Low HP
- Treated this like ferrothorn. Still has bulk and a good typing but middling HP should make it not too overwhelming.
- A lack of recovery - not even draining - also hurts
- Little to No Utility, Subtle but usable coverage
- I was so tempted to give this thing defog or Rapid Spin you don’t even understand
- Also very little boosting
- Coil would be so fitting for this, its a shame that +1 Attack, +1 Defense, and +1 Accuracy probably isn’t balanced on this titan (maybe it would’ve been, idk)

:Giratina-Origin:
Name: Iron Winds
Original Pokemon: Giratina (Origin Forme)
Type: Ghost/Ice
Stats:
132/56/120/92/78/112
Ability: Quark Drive
Paradox Category: Future
Movepool Changes:
Added:
Packing Snow*, Ice Beam, Blizzard, Ice Fang, Icy Wind, Aurora Veil, Bitter Malice (sorry Hisuian Zoroark), Calm Mind, Electric Terrain, Snowscape, Spikes.
Removed: All Dragon and Electric Moves, Shadow Force, Defog.
Ice/Stat/-/-/5 (8)/Healing
Heals 50% users HP; 2/3rds in the snow

Shore Up for Hail, basically.
Iron Winds, as described in a paranormal magazine, has an internal body temperature of -10,000 degrees.
As described in a paranormal magazine, Iron Winds was originally created to counteract global warming. This idea backfired when the A.I. took on the mannerisms of Giratina, which it was modeled after.

Competitive Role + Balance Decisions:
Iron Winds is a bulky, fast Ice type with low but useable offensive pressure. Low base SpDef to both help balance its defense (especially in hail) and encourage more interesting items (such as Assault Vest over HDB).

Balancing Decisions Include:
- Giving it what I call “BITS” (Bulky Ice Type Syndrome)
- As in, a defensively-oriented mon that is the ice type.
- Still giving it a useable Special Attack
- Allows it to actually chip down mons and may benefit from a specs set, as per its 112 speed.
- Bolt Beam Coverage
- Especially with electric being boosted in Electric Terrain, Unresisted Coverage is a great tool to have, even with a SpA of only 92
- With no way to boost that SpA, though, it should still be balanced
- Shore Up but for Snow
- This thing might be a saint on snow teams. 1.5x Defense and 2/3rds recovery goes crazy. Poor defensive typing should keep this thing from being too overwhelming despite this
- Also suffers from the same thing chansey does: Want’s Assault vest, Booster, and HDB - but can’t run all at once.

:moltres: (+ :articuno:/:zapdos:)
Name: Livid Storms
Original Pokemon: Moltres (The Legendary Birds)
Type: Dark/Flying
Stats:
103/121/81/121/81/83 (590)
Ability: Protosynthesis
Paradox Category: Past
Movepool Changes:
Added: Elemental Storm*, Tri-Attack, Dark Pulse, Thunderbolt, Ice Beam, Flare Blitz, Zing Zap, Icicle Crash, Volt Switch, Dark Pulse, Throat Chop, Crunch.
Removed: N/A
Flying/Spec/90/100%/10 (16)/Protect, Wind
30% chance to Burn, Paralyze, or Lower opposing pokemon’s SpA by one stage. Special if it would be stronger.

Buffed Tri-Attack + Nerfed Side Shell Arm. Replaced Freeze chance because I DESPISE Freeze
Livid Storms bears a striking resemblance to Moltres. Or is it Zapdos? Actually, its all 3 Legendary Birds, visually. Creating storms consisting of all elements mastered by the legendary birds, Livid Storms can tear down cities in minutes.
Livid Storms has 3 heads; the one resembling Moltres is the main head. All 3 heads contribute to Living Storms’ motor functions, and have a free sense of thought.

Competitive Role + Balance Decisions
Bulky Mixed Attacker. Good defensive typing in dark/flying (type + stat spread heavily inspired by yveltal.), Good coverage but middling stab and minimal boosting.

Balance Decisions Include:
- uhhh mostly intuition? It doesn’t feel busted, maybe I’m wrong idk.
- REMOVING FREEZE FROM ELEMENTAL STORM
- I HATE FREEZE, ITS UNCOMPETITIVE AND ANNOYING

Name: Ancient Sunne
Original Pokemon: Solgaleo
Type: Psychic/Fire
Ability: Protosynthesis
Stats: 111 / 135 / 121 / 97 / 67 / 59
Paradox: Past
New Moves: Flame Charge, Fire Fang, Photon Geyser, Raging Fury, Sunsear Smash, Meteor Assault, Play Rough, Bulk Up, Zen Headbutt, Double Edge
Removed Moves: Sunsteel Strike, Calm Mind, Snarl, Iron Tail, Iron Head, Flash Cannon, Crunch

Sunsear Smash: Physical, Fire-Type, 80 BP, PP 5, Accuracy 100%, Ignores abilities.

Flavor: Ancient Sunne consists of a felid-shaped nebula resembling a mix of Sogaleo and its earlier forms (cosmog and cosmoem) partially encased in what appears to be fossils, giving it extended claws for slashing and a skull-like helmet which leaves the upper half of its face exposed. When enraged or using its fire moves, the nebula portions of Ancient Sunne turn red, orange, yellow, then white at the ends as it heats up.

New Moves: Electric Terrain, Moontide Maelstrom, Thunder Wave, Night Shade, Surf, Hydro Pump, Scald, Nasty Plot
Removed Moves: Psycho Cut, Future Sight, Sunny Day, Acrobatics, Blizzard, Heat Wave, Dream Eater

Moontide Maelstrom: Special, Water-Type, 80 BP, PP 5, Accuracy 100%, Ignores abilities. This move's power is boosted by 50 percent if the user is on Electric Terrain.

Flavor: Iron Moone consists of a chiropteran-shaped nebula resembling a mix of Lunala and its earlier forms (cosmog and cosmoem) partially encased in advanced technology, giving it a visor and a 'case' for its wings that end up resembling a powered ring of sorts. When enraged or using its water moves, the nebula portions of Iron Moone turn light blue.

Iron Sabre (Original Pokemon: Chien-Pao)
Paradox: Future
Type:

Ability: Quark Drive
Stats: 80 | 116 | 96 | 98 | 68 | 132 [BST= 590]
New Moves: Electric Terrain, Electro Ball, Iron Head, Metal Burst, Metal Sound, Spark, Thunderbolt, Thunder, Thundershock, Thunder Wave, Volt Switch, Wild Charge
Removed Moves: Crunch, Dark Pulse, Sucker Punch, Throat Chop
Description: Trades the free power boost from SoR for an even harder to wall stab combo... unfortunately it's a phys electric stuck with Wild Charge, blegh. Obviously you can just give it a custom move to circumvent that, in fact that's what I was originally going to do, but a mon with STAB BoltBeam, high attack and speed, and consistent stabs is a tad overkill, so Iron Sabre having these unoptimal STAB moves should make it less overbearing and encourage more set variety. Would be a good SDer and potential partner to Glowking, swapping between eachother with Volt Switch and Chilly Reception, with Sabre getting a free power and defense boost from snow. sr weakness heavily incentivizing boots over booster energy keeps its offensive potential in check a little more.
Flavor: Robot Chien-Pao but replace the blade with a Halo energy sword

Vetoes are complete, however we are not going to be releasing them yet, as the release of the DLC could affect some of the subs since they are based off of legendaries that will be returning there, which means that their movepools will most likely be updated, which may affect vetoes. Vetoes will likely officially come out soon after the DLC drops as a result of this.

hello! sorry, it's been more than a week huh.. things have been busy and the new DLC arrived. so, yeah.

we have those listed, but the DLC has put a change in things. So, here's what we're gonna do!

Along with vetoes, we'll be listing legendaries who've had their movepools editted this generation. You're free to either:
a. change the movepools if your sub is affected
b. keep it as it is (mention that you are using the old movepool, ex: gen 8)

also, we will be updating the OP thread with new rules soon, so that there'll be few misunderstandings the next slate. ty yall for your patience TT

so without further ado, lets start with vetoes

Name: Iron Apocalypse
Original Pokemon: Yveltal
Type: Dark/Ghost
Ability: Quark Drive
Stats: 87/101/101/127/83/91 (BST 590)
Paradox: Future

New Moves: Apollyon Wing, Electric Terrain, Infernal Parade, Shadow Sneak, Memento, Destiny Bond
Ghost Type-Special-90 BP-10 PP- The user recovers 1/2 the HP lost by the target, rounded half up. If Big Root is held by the user, the HP recovered is 1.3x normal, rounded half down.
Removed Moves: Roost, Oblivion Wing

Description: It is speculated to be a weapon from the future that only is seen when the fate of the world is at stake. Obviously an Oblivion Wing clone would be a little much for OU so we get a Bitter Blade clone instead.
Iron Apocalypse's stats should be even, not odd. that's it tbh

:sv/Enamorus:
Name: Infernal Infatuation
Original Pokemon: Enamorus
Type: Fairy/Dragon
Ability: Protosynthesis
Stats: 77 / 121 / 69 / 135 / 81 / 107 [BST 590]
Paradox: Past
New Moves: Air Slash, Bounce, Brick Break, Draco Meteor, Dragon Claw, Dragon Dance, Dragon Pulse, Dragon Tail, Drain Punch, Giga Drain, Hurricane, Poison Jab, Rock Slide, Snarl, Spirit Break, Stomping Tantrum, U-Turn, Wild Charge
Removed Moves: Fly, Grassy Terrain, Healing Wish, Iron Defense, Psychic, Tailwind
Description: This enamored entity has a past where its romantic side is a bit more... sinister.
Can easily get out of hand with Agility + 3 attacks. Remove 10 SpAtk and Earth Power.

Glacial Fire
:swsh/regice:

Ability: Protosynthesis
Stats: 95 HP / 99 Atk / 49 Def / 199 SpA / 99 SpD / 49 Spe

New Moves: Blaze Kick, Burn Up, Ember, Fire Punch, Fire Spin, Flame Burst, Flame Charge, Flamethrower, Flare Blitz, Heat Crash, Heat Wave, Incinerate, Mystical Fire, Overheat, Stone Edge, Sunny Day
Signature Move: Start The Fire:
5 PP, 0 BP, - Acc. User recovers half the maximum HP, user’s Fire-type moves deal 1.5 times damage until it switches out (Flash Fire effect).
Removed Moves: Rain Dance

Flavor: Inspired by the discovery of fire by humans, which was helpful for their survival during the Ice Age. All three paradox Regis (although I'm only able to submit two of them this slate) are inspired by some discovery humans had during the age corresponding with the respective golem.
Competitive: This is a pretty nasty special wallbreaker, with a gigantic special attack stat, and a recovery move that also boosts its Fire-type STABs. But it does come with a few significant drawbacks. Heavy-Duty Boots is nigh mandatory, making it so Booster Energy is not an option to get even stronger special attacks off, and if your opponent does manage to Knock Off those boots, then you're probably not getting to attack with this thing again if its forced out. On top of that, low speed and low physical bulk makes it very vulnerable and it struggles to get opportunities to come in and wallbreak. Keep in mind, this is weaker than Guts Ursaluna or Mega Mawile, and has a much worse defensive type too. Something like Cinderace can stomach any one hit and OHKO with High Jump Kick or get a roll with Pyro Ball, assuming no HP investment, Burning Sage can also switch-into a STAB and likely 2HKO with Fire Blast and withstand another move in between. Water-types like Milotic can also switch into a STAB move, and 2HKO with Scald or OHKO with mirror coat while still tanking a Thunderbolt. In general too, Glacial Fire has very few opportunities to switch in, most physical attackers can OHKO it, such as Great Tusk, Low Kick Kingambit, Iron Valiant, Ogerpon Wellspring, Drain Punch Rillaboom, Hisuian Samurott, Zamazenta-Hero, Landorus-T, and etc. Even Ting-Lu can take about half from an Ice Beam and OHKO back with Earthquake.
252+ SpA Flash Fire Tera Fire Abomasnow Burn Up vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Blissey: 376-444 (52.6 - 62.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
funny calc aside. unless you're blissey or specifically EV'd to tank more than a 2hko, you will have a stupidly hard time trying to switch into Glacial Fire. Yes things can OHKO it in the physical side, but they have to risk switching something into this mon in the first place. This mon will either be a nuke, especially in Trick Room, or useless depending on the matchup. Remove 66 SpAtk and it'll be fine, preferred to distribute these to Def and Spe.

Iron Survive
:swsh/azelf:

Ability: Quark Drive
Stats: 90 HP / 124 Atk / 124 Def / 64 SpA / 64 SpD / 124 Spe

New Moves: Aura Sphere, Brick Break, Close Combat, Cross Chop, Focus Blast, Focus Punch, Force Palm, Mach Punch, Meditate, Superpower, Vacuum Wave
Signature Move: Selfless Willpower:
10 PP, 40 BP, 100% Acc. Contact. For the rest of the turn, allows the user to survive any attack that would cause it to faint, leaving the user with 1 HP instead, If it or other protection moves are used consecutively, this move fails.
Removed Moves: -

Flavor: Inspired by Asimov's third law of robotics (protect yourself unless it breaks the first or second law), and also is paradoxical in the sense of being a creature of willpower but that now doesn't act on its own behalf and interests, but rather that of humans. All three paradox Lake Trio (although I'm only able to submit two of them this slate) are inspired by AI tropes and the Asimov laws of robotics.
Competitive: Iron Survive is a fast physical attacker with an extremely powerful move. The main problem is it can't be used in succession at all, so it does often require secondary Fighting-type STAB, like Close Combat.
Signature move is unnecessary and sort of uncompetitive. Change its effect or remove it entirely.

I gotta do one. I’m allowed, right?

Under snow teams, this would be a difficult mon to go against even with the bad Wild Charge. Reduce Atk by 10 or Spe by 12.

Statline is incredibly minmaxed and its almost impossible to deal with this thing and the number of sets it can have. Suggested to remove 20 Atk and 20 SpAtk.

now for move adjustments, here's the list for relevant legendaries, the file is attached to this post since im not gonna post multiple photos. Massive credit to this doc here

Removed Moves: Crunch, Bulldoze, Thousand Arrows, Thousand Waves, Grass Knot, Coil, High Horsepower, Scale Shot, Toxic

Description:
A living weapon, created without equal.

A warrior, noble and just, yet without restraint.

Created as a last resort, it was designed to protect the final refuges of humankind in their darkest hours. Its exterior is heavily armored and renders it impervious to most physical harm, while its interior is bursting with a mysterious, powerful energy. It channels that energy as photon rays from its hands and wings. It is loyal to the noble and just, and injustice or harm of any kind will send it into a deep rage.

Competitive Description: Defensive pivot that takes advantage of its good bulk and defensive typing, as well as its solid attacking power and coverage, to hit hard and bring in teammates safely. Can run a variety of items, such as Leftovers for passive recovery, Assault Vest to shore up its special bulk, or Heavy-Duty Boots to stop hazard damage. Its signature move gives it a unique form of anti-setup, letting it shut down potential set-up sweepers while also hitting decently hard too (it even affects Protosynthesis and Quark Drive boosts too!). Suffers from a lack of reliable recovery, which hurts its longevity, as well as being a Steel-type that doesn't resist Fairy thanks to being part-Dragon type, giving it potential issues versus mons like Iron Valiant and Burning Sage.
