Yeah, I'm pretty sure the yugioh community is going to be pretty let down.

The only things worth buying this set for are mirror force and crush card.

this whole "april fools day" thing happened TODAY
where they called the old set a hoax
and put up the "real" list
I saw that fools list on the 30th
which wouldn't make sense making the prank 2 days earlier
and CORRECTING it on april fools day!!

that fools list may be legit

But it does say 'allegedly', and other than that, I don't see any other reason.

Damn April Fool's, now I'm all confused.

For me, I still play Yu-Gi-Oh, though not competitively. About the only deck I have that can even compete in today's environment is a Gadget deck. Overall, I still buy the odd card here and there, but that's about it.

Shut up 7 Colored Fish was the absolute coolest card ever. All I remember from when I actually played Yu-gi-oh was that 7 Colored Fish and Exodia and Raigeki and Heavy Storm and SWORDS OF REVEALING LIGHT were awesome.

are any of the new-pseudo-egyptian-gods cards (raviel, uria and hamon) viable in the current yugioh metagame? I never played competitively, just for fun with some friends, but I've always wanted to use a god card and those three are the closest playable thing there is and they all look pretty awesome.

I never said it wasn't cool. I meant that as a card in a series meant for people seeking rare cards its presence there is a little questionable.

I don't necessarily think Anti Spell Fragrance is needed; it slows down the deck a fair bit. It gives a good opportunity for Yaichi to target their M/T, but overall, Shien works better then Anti Spell Fragrance.

THE METAGAME JUST MADE AN ANTI-META DECK.
Am I the only one who sees the irony in this?
you realize that is more or less six samurai meta?

Oh, and Anti-Spell Fragrance is an amazing card, and you're really underestimating its power.
Mixed with shien, it can be really deadly.
Not to mention it kills the magical explosion deck's speed completely...

VSing DAD decks, Shien IS enough. They don't usually run monster removal in the form of magic cards so halting them down to 1 M/T per turn while maintaining normal speed is better then slowing down your magics.

It's not for monster removal.

Allure of Darkness, Premature Burial, Monster Reborn, DDraw...

It can be a real pace-killer. And in this format, if you lose pace, you lose period. Raiza taught us that.

Edit: Not to mention they can destroy set cards with monster effects. What a bummer that can be for your opponent. I had that deck idea before, where you force your opponent into setting their cards and then start eating serious M/T destruction.

Man, this takes me back. I played yugioh in early high school before switching to magic because they banned basically all the cards from the best archetypes.

I remember having turn 2 and 3 kills with the Yata Garasu lock. That was so sick.

it's good, but DDW could be replaced with something
like card trooper or dimensional alchemist could be good for card advantage

you run three RftDD
so removing your opponents bigger monster with DDW would probably be a bad thing, huh

also maybe exiled force
I've seen that used very well in macro decks.
you can pull him out easily, and when you RftDD or Dimension Fusion, it can come back to deal with anything your opponent has.

new topic, what card do you most want. im gonna have to go with the splendid venus:

All non-Fairy-Type monsters lose 500 ATK and DEF. The activation and effect of Spell and Trap Cards you control cannot be negated.

not only are fairy types my favorite type, but that is an awsome effect and its relatively easy to get out.

WTF. Grandmaster anyone? Now they can swarm and like you said, demise can kill also. This is crazy. I'm going still like I planned.

Well imo it's fairly hard to get out in a competitive match and not that hard to kill
but it's got some good potential
(royal decree anyone?)

there is a card coming out, which you may or may not know about
Valhalla, Temple of the Gods

this card is going to make fairies incredibly powerful.

So apparently dark monsters had their reign, and now they want to make light monsters equally broken? Well, it'll be a change of pace for a while, anyway.

those aren't even coming out in light of destruction
and considering that valhalla is call of the mummy
I wouldn't call it broken
it makes fairies stronger, but still not as good as zombies

the lightlords are ridiculous though.
no lie.

it's going to be quite a while before they come out in the TCG

Light Decks are going to be interesting IMO. What about that Summon Limiter card, anybody think it has potential?
