The historical things that have happened this generation in the Smogon tiers continue to surprise me, one after another.

Seems this month's surprise ended up being Salamence and Hydreigon in RU of all things. Salamence, who was once Uber in Gen 4, is now sitting in the depths of RU.

Gengar too apparently. OU for so many generations and now it's RU as well.

Seeing all these once OU powerhouses as low as RU, speaking as someone who once played RU back in Gen 5 in 2013, is throwing me off big here. 10 years ago the thought of many of these mons coming anywhere near the land of RU was unthinkable.

Sure, but a lot of these things that are now languishing in RU/NU were regularly banned from UU as recently as last gen, even if they couldn't cut it in OU.

Yeah. That does make sense. Power creep happens. Just look at Rby OU and look at those mons in gen 5. Many are RU NU. That's the same thing happening in gen 9. Many BW OU mons are RU NU mons. It makes sense. Of course tiers gonna be power crept. It's surprising they managed to hold power creep for so long.

Its because of adding new mons that power creep happens. Of course previous OUs will be NU look at snorlax tauros rhtdon exegutor starmie and many many more. That's just a fact. One day Kingambit will be NU.

And that is with a regional dex with 600ish mons, look at National Dex, there are literally so many good mons that not all of them are ranked in OU, and that makes UU look like USUM OU
