Urshifu-R can Tera Water to lose its weaknesses to Fairy and Flying, improving its matchups against Flutter Mane and Tornadus while OHKOing them with a boosted Surging Strikes. The given EV spread allows it to survive Tera Normal Dragonite's Extreme Speed in Sword of Ruin and Leaf Storm from Amoonguss. Urshifu-R can pair with Rillaboom and Heatran to form a bulky Fire-Water-Grass offense core and also works well with Pokemon like Tornadus and Icy Wind Flutter Mane that offer speed control to make up for its middling Speed. Chien-Pao can also support it well by hitting Grass- and Flying-types, increasing Urshifu-R's damage with Sword of Ruin, and forming a priority spamming core with Sucker Punch and Aqua Jet.
