Resource Ultra SM OU Bazaar

It seems ive been called to dump all my solid SM builds so here goes nothing. Enjoy!
As a heads up i may or may not be ready for shit like aegi or other broken shit due to how that stuff is getting banned anyways soon. (of course they don't auto lose)

Pretty standard run of the mill balance. wanted to try out alolan ninetales but at the same time hate using hail so i decided to just build around np ninetales. Works pretty nicely and freeze dry is cool for hitting stuff like rotom-w or mantine for SE damage. Cb dugtrio to kill off heatran. Rest is just a defensive backbone of mantine+tang and rocks tran and tapu koko to pressure stuff and clean the game.

Fun stuff. Ive been a supporter of specs kommo-o ever since day 1 of SM. Its a fun mon with a spam-able stab. Other then that you got tapu koko to reap the rewards of specs kommo-o weakening stuff. Rest is just a nice defensive backbone of m zor/alolan maro/mantine with scarf landot to revenge kill stuff.

Tapu koko hates grass types and really does not want to use brave bird. Z-fly landot baits in the grass types like tang and m venu and smashes then with stab z-fly which clears the way for tapu koko. Offensive rocks nihilego is also a fun mon to use as its pretty strong and fast. M-zor in the back to deal with most of the meta and to clean the game. Buzzwole is a nice weavile/exca switch in while also providing nice offensive synergy with tapu koko. Latios checks keldeo and has shadow ball cause screw aegi.

Used this team day one of SM and still holds pretty well. Used to use mega lop over keldeo but due to the circumstances that SM gave us i had to replace it with keld. Grassium-z tran helps with stall. Specs magearna serves as a pivot and a breaker. SD tapu bulu helps with slower teams.

Solid team that uses spdef rotom-w to check aegi and gren. Specs nihilego is also a really neat mon in general due to how hard it hits. Really liking this UB. CB bulu helps break down teams as well which is nice. Celesteela kinda annoys this team though. As does skarm.

Got bored so i decided to build with zard-y. Was pressed for pursuit trapper options so i picked aegi as it seemed the most logical choice due to how its super reliable at trapping psychics. Choice banded tapu bulu is a cool partner due to how the two really do a number against more balanced teams.

Showcased this in a live. CB zygarde-10% is more of a cleaner then a breaker due to the mediocre base 100 atk but does a pretty decent job anways. Scarf tapu lele is one of my favourite revenge killers and cleaners due to how its psychic stabs have a specs boost and make cleaning with them fairly easy. Roost buzzwole is the exca/weavile counter and also checks pheromosa and gene which is nice. Dual hazard ferro to help out zygarde-10%. M aero was just somthing that seemed good on this team due to the speed. Still outsped by pheromosa though. Siiiigh.

This is a real jewl. Really solid team lmao. Return of specs nihilego and it has a m gyara with it also (which is one of my favourite megas). AV magearna which was somthing new i wanted to try serves as a nice pivot while also hitting hard with fluer cannon. Alolan maro takes on elecs for m gyara which otherwise prevent it from setting up. Defog latios so that gyara is not pressured by rocks and scarf landot completes a volt turn core with magearna while also being a RK.

Wanted to try out minior so i gave it a shot. Fun team that uses Dragonium-Z rocks chomp. Dragonium-z outrage is in general a strong move that can seriously screw over stuff such as landorus-T which can normally tank a outrage. Unfortunate for them however that they cant tank a +1 Z-Outrage which gives you a 190 base power stab dragon type move. This in turn helps minior as landot checks it fairly well. Minior has HP fire so it can nail m zor/gene/ferro. Defog Tapu fini is the keldeo and weavile switch in. Bolt beam mega meta helps lure in stuff like skarm and celesteela. Tapu koko lures in quagsire while also dealing with waters and bringing its nice speed tier to the table. AV tang takes on opposing tapu koko and also helps tapu fini so its not pressured by constant switch ins.

Overall i like all of these teams quite a bit. one downside is some may or may not be weak to the broken stuff but you dont get put into a auto lose situation. Enjoy em. I also plan on RMTing that specs nihilego+m gyara team soon so watch out for that.

For those of you would would like to directly import BlazeLatias' teams directly in to Showdown, I made a PASTEBIN with all of the teams in the exact order.

AND if you're on mobile and don't feel like having troubles pastebin, I made it even easier:

For those of you that saw my team dump on the Overused bazaar you should remember this team. Basically just Toxapex over slowking lmao. T spikes act as a delayed win-con of sorts for when the opposing setter/remover is removed.

Also some IV problems cause ps still does the whole thing with hidden powers.
So about team 9, I've been running into hp electric manaphy on the ladder lately and now I see it again lol, why is that a better option over Ice Beam/Energy Ball?? Not sure what I'm missing Im just bad rofl. Thanks for the teams btw :]

HP Electric lets you beat Mantine which can otherwise Haze stall you with ease.

Oh tru tru. I find it ridiculous how Mantine suddenly became relevant in the tier and I just love using it, can't believe I couldn't figure that out, thanks :D

Work!
Been playing this for a while now. I'm really liking it.

It's kind of balance with the goal of setting up for a Gyarados sweep. Pyukumuku glues the team together and it's really good. I run the Soak set because it helps beat guys like Aegislash and it's a solid counter (technically) to Tapu Bulu and Tapu Koko. It's a solid defensive backbone with Marowak, who beats most stuff that Pyuku can't beat. I like the Leftovers set more over Thick Club since it's supposed to support. Pheromosa and Genesect form the offensive core and Phero is kinda underwhelming. The set I run is specially based with HP Ground, which 2HKOs Marowak and Toxapex with the desired spread. You guys know how Genesect works. Alola-tales provides incredible team support with Veil, which makes Gyara setups much easier. Freeze-Dry is for Pelipper, Gyarados and Mantine. Gyara is the win con and provides a lot of team support. +1 outspeeds Koko and +2 is usually GG.

Threats are Tapu Fini and Clefable who are really tough to break, and Scizor is kind of obnoxious post Gyara Mega. Rotom-W is also really dumb. There's probably more that it's weak to but the ladder is like 75% the same stuff so I haven't had much of a chance to try.

Wondering if Greninja would be better over Phero? Looking at Gunk Shot for the fairies, and HP Fire might be helpful.

It seems ive been called to dump all my solid SM builds so here goes nothing. Enjoy!
As a heads up i may or may not be ready for shit like aegi or other broken shit due to how that stuff is getting banned anyways soon. (of course they don't auto lose)

I noticed you like Nihilego and Mantine as well, and it's good to see other people using them. Seriously, they're both insanely good. Also, while you can probably count on Pheromosa and Genesect to get the boot, I wouldn't count on Aegi being banned too quickly. For now, it's not top priority and may be worth considering preparations for, at least for a while, since it'll probably get a suspect. Also, I'll be trying to get a Fairy spam team working and posted soon-ish, even in the sad absence of Mega Diancie and Mega Gardevoir.

Also some IV problems cause ps still does the whole thing with hidden powers.
Jesus Christ how the hell did you find the time to battle enough to use all of these teams already O_O

Anyway yeah these look super fun so I'm gonna mess around with those at some point. If I have any feedback I'll make sure to hit u up on Showdown or here or wherever

I guess the thought process was "what if you put everything broken and quickban ready together and then add Drag Spam into the mix". You got the U-Turners abusing their stabs while having blistering speeds and complete sets to go after the opponents mixed, arguably the best offensive defogger since Gen 6/7 who is no slouch in his own right, Aegislash being a **** and blocking other broken pokemon while being one part of my anti stall strategy, the other being Alola Marowak who is also anti (elec) meta, SR equipped and hits extremely hard on the switch (being able to appear thanks to U-turns despite speed issue) and ofcourse Mr. Complete coverage himself, Charizard X opting to go full offense and use SD to hammer Stall down as well. Did I mention he can't be burned?

Of course this team relies very heavily on offensive pressure so things like Landrous don't have time to set-up and such, for example on hit and sack: http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen7pokebankou-484954704

With quick bans and suspect tests coming sooner than later, here is another version to keep the party rolling on:

Here was my best attempt at a Tapu Lele + Alakazam offensive core supported by 4 bulkier pivots. The general tactic of the team is to use Lele to target Zam's defensive counters, then execute a late game clean up. Don't play too fast and loose with 'Zam and Lele, they're all of your power. The team fairs pretty well against offense as Zam + Lando's speed plus Lele's priority null generally suffices, while Heatran, Rotom, Lando-T and Aegislash's catch-all bulk offer a fair bit of outplay potential. Helmet tran helps deal with u-turn spam.

The team is fairs not so well against stall, sadly. Lele is quite difficult to wall, both Alakazam and Heatran posses Taunt which presents opportunity to wear down Stall, and both Lando and Rotom are able to retain momentum. The tactic is to get Heatran to put rocks up, cripple whatever tries to oppose it with Taunt + Rocky Helmet damage + Toxic, bring in Lele, and just keep up the momentum. This doesn't always work, but it can.

Aegislash has been surprisingly underwhelming on this team actually, it's mostly there to prevent Pheromosa and Tapu Bulu from destroying me. Changing it to the sub-toxic set may be beneficial, though Flash Cannon's ability to hit Bulu and having some priority on the team may be missed.

Earth Power can make sense on Heatran, for opposing Heatran and the surprisingly common Marowak-A. The stallbreaker set is worth thinking about, but that set lacks rocks so..

BlazeLatias

interesting squads, I dont get why you run iron head on your ferros (if you dont even have para support to try to flinch things) tho, power whip/gyro ball are just overall better

Ema Skye

isnt pyukumuku just a momentum killer for your team? also dont get how it can even check tapu buru and koko oO

Mostly because it annoys clefable w/o the fear of pp stalling gyro. Which i guess is rather irelevent at this time.

i made a similar team, it's been well for me on the ladder. i use specs lele, it has no switchins. having the immediate speed on zam is really great too, it's a huge boon vs weather teams.

infernape is there for dark types, as well as genesect and scizor, plus the utility of u-turn is great for tapu lele. toxapex also handles bug spam and keldeo, ferro is there for electrics, as is lando (plus it's a nifty ground immunity).

haven't had to play too much stall (doesn't seem really popular on the ladder yet), but i can see how it'd be tough for me to deal with. i've struggled with stuff like celesteela so i put tbolt on tapu lele to try and account for that.

Sorry for the Rate My Team format, hopefully i'll fix that up in a minute or two (or you know, like never.)

This is my first OU team for Sun and Moon, it's proven to be pretty good on showdown and really excel on the battle spot. Obviously it's mainly offensive and has a little bit of bulk, i'll start off with an explanation for Garchomp.

Garchomp (M) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Rough Skin
EVs: 252 Atk / 5 Def / 1 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Outrage
- Stone Edge
- Dragon Claw

I decided to go with a choice scarf so I would be able to outspeed things that would normally destroy Garchomp, such as Pheramosa and Salamence, i've had many people attempting to fight it with Pheramosa and expect and outspeed, and it's worked very well against stuff like that. It's also been able to destroy threats that would normally destroy Toxapex, and Celesteela, so that's helpful, gotta have that little bit o defense. Also helps for killing off the godly wall known as Toxapex. So, yeah that's basically the Garchomp explanation, on to Alolan-Marowak.

Marowak-Alola (M) @ Thick Club
Ability: Lightning Rod
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Flare Blitz
- Shadow Bone
- Bonemerang
- Will-O-Wisp

This thing destroys, period. It's incredibly powerful with the Thick Club, with a staggering 518 Atk, deadly. It has lightning rod for easy switch ins on Tapu Koko and Xurkitree, Shadow Bone for a powerful stab, bonemerang for killing off threats like Tapu Koko Xurkitree and Gengar, flare blitz for another powerful and deadly stab, and Will-O-Wisp for weakening physical attackers. Next is Kartana, let's a go.

Kartana @ Life Orb
Ability: Beast Boost
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spe / 6 Def
Hardy Nature
- Leaf Blade
- Smart Strike
- Sacred Sword
- Night Slash

Did I say Kartana? I meant to say death, literally, this thing hurts, a lot. It has great type coverage, covering Alolan-Marowak and other ghosts with Night Slash, water types with Leaf Blade, fairies with smart strike, and steel monsters and other fighting types with Sacred Sword, nuff said. It's great to have more offensive coverage. Welp, on to my final offensive pokemon, Tapu Koko.

Tapu Koko @ Assault Vest
Ability: Electric Surge
EVs: 252 SpA / 252 Spe / 6 HP
Hardy Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Dazzling Gleam
- Brave Bird
- Volt Switch

R.I.P Celesteela, this guy is pretty much here to cover for Celesteela Salamence and Garchomp, and as a good lead with Volt Switch. So Thunderbolt, it's good, solid electric move and provides good stab damage along with electric terrain, it can hit like a truck. That's good, now for Dazzling Gleam, rip dragons, all joking aside this moves very good for taking out deadly pokemon like Garchomp and Salamence. Brave Bird, well, this moves here to take advantage of it's great physical attack stats, solid move for killing of fighting types. Volt Switch, as stated before is usually how I start off a match with Tapu Koko, then Volt Switch into Celesteela or Toxapex to wall any damage. Now for Celesteela.

Celesteela @ Leftovers
Jolly Nature
EVs: 252 Def / 252 Spe / 6 SpD
- Heavy Slam
- Leech Seed
- Protect
- Substitute

I call her "Stally" for obvious reasons, if I find the chance to Volt Switch into this thing and am able to get a leech seed off, this thing will slowly eat the opponents HP. And that's good, it kinda goes like this get in somehow, leech seed, subsitute, protect, repeat the last two. Heavy Slam also OHKOs Mimikyu, which is helpful for removing that annoying pest. That's pretty much it for Celesteela, moving on to Toxapex.

Toxapex @ Black Sludge
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 Def / 252 HP / 6 SpD
Bold Nature
- Toxic Spikes
- Recover
- Haze
- Scald

Teh wall, straight off we have Toxic Spikes for that nice poison on enemy switch in. Recover to heal up after taking any hits at all, which usually don't do much anyway ;p. Now for a odd choice, I went with Haze instead of Protect, I find it much more useful for removing stat changes from pokemon like Gyarados and Salamence, seems to help more than a protect for a tiny bit of Black Sludge healing. Scald was added for the burn chance and (kinda) the damage, it's a little luck based, but I enjoy having the burn chance to lower a enemies attack even more.

So, uh, yeah that's my first team, I'd love some feedback! :).

Okay I wanna highlight two major cores in this team. This team is Hyper Offensive cuz the meta is new (and also like I haven't played a game in two years so I have no attention span due to all the sensory overload but I'll totally be back to playing stall when the meta settles).

The first core is Genesect + Pheromosa. This is a pretty well represented core in the meta but it's just so damn useful. I opted for Scarf Genesect cuz it's tried-and-true; Iron Head to bop Fairy-types if necessary. Pheromosa is absurdly strong, mine tailored to give Moxie. I went with Poison Jab just because it's nice to have the coverage. I'd use this core now while you can because it won't be around too long; these assholes are getting their asses banned eventually.

The other major core at play here is Ninetales + Marowak + Gyarados. Good GOD this core is effective. Ninetales gives support via Aurora Veil, which is honestly my favorite addition to an already amazing Gen 7. I use Encore to give free switches to stuff. Marowak and Gyarados both resist the Fire and Steel moves Ninetales attracts; Marowak is immune to the Electric moves people predictably throw at Gyarados and Fighting moves people aim at M-Gyarados, and it quad resists Bug moves (Ninetales 2x resists too) and 2x resists Grass and Fairy Moves aimed at M-Gyarados. Marowak is also resistant to Poison moves that are thrown at Ninetales. The ultimate goal of this core is to give Gyarados an opportunity to set up Dragon Dance, and Aurora Veil makes it possible to get to +2--at which point pretty much nothing stands up to M-Gyara, especially behind Aurora Veil.
*NOTE: This core is weak to strong Rock-type moves, but pretty much none of the Rock types want to eat too many STAB Moonblasts or Waterfalls/Bonemerangs. Worst case scenario, sacrifice Marowak to get Pheromosa in w/HJK*
*Another note: Ninetales really messes with Rain because it forces Pelipper to U-Turn to something while you set up Aurora Veil and profit*

Landorus is there because I'm annoying and hate this fucker but I'm also duplicitous and will use him. Actually tho, the Rock Polish set pairs really nicely with Aurora Veil support and can clean teams up really well. Nobody's really using the RP set right now, so it catches a ton of people off guard--especially when you convince people you've got one of the other LO + 3 attacks sets. I anticipate a Lando ban sometime in the future, so get your cakes while they're hot. Yeah, Mantine walls this thing (except for when it runs SE and it doesn't lol), but this guy is literally just as offensively powerful (and by that I don't mean like Tom Brady + Gronk; I mean like he's a dick [and so are Brady and Gronk, but I digress]) as he always was and he's definitely just as unpredictable as ever. All that said, he's easily the most replaceable member of this team and I may opt for a better answer to Rock-types but idk prolly nah cuz I don't really wanna play HO for too long...

But yeah, the takeaway from this post should be this: Use broken shit while you can and also like Ninetales-Alola+Marowak-Alola+M-Gyarados is a really good core.

I'll edit in the sets later, but pretty much everything is standard fare from the analysis. Only major tweak I made was max HP/max Spe Ninetales cuz the main focus of that thing is to set up Dual Screens (Aurora Veil).

I love this team. Gyarados and Ninetales have always been two of my favorites, and I'm happy to see a team that uses them together. As somebody that hasn't played ladder much since XY, can you explain why Gyarados is a particularly good sweeper now as opposed to other setup sweepers? Dark being immune to Prankster now certainly helps keeping the sweep alive, but are a lot of his counters just not in the meta or not available right now?

Appreciate the love.

Mega Gyarados right now is really good because there are not a lot of his traditional answers in the metagame: Bulky Grass types. Really, the only bulky grass you see is Mega Venusaur, which M-Gyara overpowers with Crunch. At +1, Gyarados can clean up any team. At +2, he can outright sweep most. Part of the reason I think his checks and counters aren't very common is because of all the new stuff. Electric types look like they're the new king, offensively, so things like Keldeo aren't very popular. I think the Grass-Types are largely hindered by the omnipresence of strong STAB U-Turn and Marowak. On top of that, I think the explosion of Electric and Misty Terrain (Tapu Koko & Fini) have made it such that Spore is much less effective now.

Grass just seems to be a heavily resisted STAB right now, so Gyarados can pretty safely function.

Sun King isn't your team an auto loss against m-pinsir?
Yee. Best counterplay is to Encore the SD. I made the team in like 5 min around the core of Ninetales/Gyarados/Marowak and added GeneMosa. I could just as easily remove RP Lando for a better answer to Pinsir though. The main reason I posted the team was to highlight the Ninetales/Gyarados/Marowak core.

Pinsir was an oversight during team building due to the fact that priority took a huge hit this gen w/Psychic Terrain.

You don't have to answer this question at all, but Sun King I was wondering what possible other options I could use aside from Lando or Gene until I have access to them via bank? Perhaps I could cover Genesect with a Magnezone instead or get that Pinsir check.
