Welcome to the Ubers UU Open! This will be a single elimination tournament in the [Gen 9] Ubers UU format, as part of the inaugural Unofficial Metagames Circuit and the Unofficial Metagames Grand Slam! This tournament will earn you points for both the year-long circuit , as well as the Grand Slam!

Rules
- This is a standard [Gen 9] Ubers UU tournament
- This will be a single elimination best of three tournament.
- Matches are to be played on Smogtours or Pokemon Showdown main.
- All replays must be posted to the round's thread for a win to count
- Each round will take one week.
- Any change in tiering will not take effect until the following round.
- Standard Smogon rules apply (see below)

Standard Smogon Rules
Identity

About playing on alts: It is entirely allowed to play on an alt other than your own main forum name, though if your opponent wishes to confirm your identity, you must log on to your main alt to show them you are who you claim to be. This is to prevent people from pretending to be who they're not.

About playing on different servers: Tournament matches must be played on the Smogtoursserver. The Main PS! serveris also acceptable if both parties agree to that. Other servers are not sanctioned by the TD team and playing in them might result in your game not counting. Protect yourself from that by playing in Smogtours, where we also have the power to recreate games that end due to DC's.

Scouting

On scouting opponents: Going through your opponents replays of tournament and ladder games is entirely allowed, as long as a game is public there is nothing preventing you from watching it. An exception to this is abusing powers granted to you by being staff on Smogon or PS! to gain access to information a normal user wouldn't have access to, which is strictly forbidden.

On leaking teams: Divulging private information about someone's planned team to their opponent is never allowed, and will be heavily sanctioned. Requesting that such information be divulged is also grounds for punishment. Keep your scouting to publicly available information and you'll be fine.

Timer Clause / Disconnections

On the Timer: The timer must stay on throughout the whole battle..

On Timeout losses: A player that loses by having all his time run out loses the game. This is only not the case if the player that received the timeout loss can be verified to have suffered a True Disconnection. Rematches are only allowed if there was a True Disconnection.

On True Disconnection: The TD team has a secret threshold of seconds that your timer must be at or above, from the moment you disconnect, for a timeout loss to be considered a True disconnection. If your game is determined to be a true disconnection if you played on Smogtours and contacted a TD before the room expired your game will be recreated up to the point the disconnect happened. It is the responsibility of the player that disconnected to get a TD into the room before it expires.

About Activity Decisions

Activity Decisions / Coin Flips: In the event that there is an uncompleted match at the deadline, it will be coin flipped unless one or both of the players involved in the match specifically request an activity win and explain sufficiently why they deserve to win over their opponent. Attempting to schedule a battle is required in order to receive the win by activity. To make it clear that you are requesting an activity win when you post, you must open your post with "Activity Win Request" in bold.

For example, if you believe your opponent is making an unfair request and that they don't deserve the activity win over you, you can either make your own request or quote their post and explain why they don't deserve it. You should try to make your activity win request posts at least 24 hours before the deadline to give your opponent a reasonable opportunity to contest it with their own activity win request.

Host discretion will be applied for all unplayed games. This means that an activity win will not be automatically granted if you post, and a lack of post does not automatically result in a coinflip.

Activity Win Request
Hi there,

As the host who made the activity decision, I gave the win to your opponent with those logs in mind. Estuardo suggested a time on Monday, a minute after you messaged them. You then did not respond until the offered time, five days later, to suggest a different time, and then claimed activity after the next round had already gone up. I do not see a way I can grant you an activity win.

Sorry, I didn't even realize a decision had already been made. I got so caught up during the week I completely forgot to check anything. My bad
