Tsareena (F) @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Queenly Majesty
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Rapid Spin
- Power Whip
- Knock Off
- High Jump Kick / Synthesis / U-turn
Tsareena is the premier Grass-type in PU between its natural strength and utility, with its access to Rapid Spin to clear hazards and stop would-be checks such as Mesprit and Archeops thanks to the Speed boost. The combination of Tsareena's STAB Power Whip and Knock Off makes it difficult to switch into, especially for bulkier teams. Knock Off also cripples Pokémon such as Charizard and can threaten Froslass trying to spinblock. High Jump Kick hits Steel-types otherwise mostly unbothered by Tsareena such as defensive Togedemaru and Silvally-Steel. Synthesis gives Tsareena longevity against foes like Regirock and Wishiwashi. U-turn allows Tsareena to gain momentum nicely, especially when paired with other pivots like Lanturn and Archeops. Lanturn can provide Heal Bell support too. Tsareena fits nicely on Spikes stacking teams with Pokemon like Qwilfish or Froslass, as they appreciate Rapid Spin support and can wear down common Tsareena switch-ins like Silvally-Steel and Neutralizing Gas Weezing with the residual damage. Charizard is a great partner for Tsareena, as it can check Rotom-F and Silvally-Steel and appreciates not having to run Defog.
