Welcome to the first week of Tours Plaza Premier!​
  • Follow all rules listed here.
  • Schedule via Smogon VMs. It's easier for me to make decisions for activity calls when I can actually see what went down with scheduling.
  • If you are unable to schedule with your opponent, please let your managers know ASAP so they can communicate that to me or the other team's managers for a potential substitute.
  • Substitutions may be made after a week has started. When making a substitution, please tag the hosts, the managers of the opposing team, and all of the players affected by the substitute to ensure that everyone is made aware. Players who have already played in the week or were subbed out in the same week cannot be subbed back in.
  • If a match remains incomplete by the time of the deadline, it will be subject to an activity call.
  • Replays are mandatory.

Listen up, I got fifth (5th [5 {V}]) in the WCOP prediction tour this year, so I'm basically spoiling the results of each week.

StabNmega: db vs oaklies - would not be surprised at a db win at all but oaklies is nice at snm
ND Same Six: Sificon vs Lady Salamence - wasn't too big on sifi's s6 last year, felt like his opponents just tended to have slightly better ideas
Mystery OU: DugZa vs skimmythegod - i think with some fc cooks, skimmy can win this but i'm bolding dugza
PIC: yuki vs Chromate - i think chromate is a bit better
Multi-Gen Randbats: Fragments vs Irene-2002 - fragments should win this pretty comfortably
NDUbers: Ainzcrad vs Fc - there's no way y'all paid like 15k for bro and put him in NATIONAL DEX UBERS ainz bro i'm so sorry

PokeAAA: fabwooloo vs Tranquility - really close matchup between two friends with great knowledge in OMMs. bolding tranquility because of absols support, and they've been more active in the OMM scene than fab, who's been busy.
StabNmega: Meta vs Icemaster - surprised to see meta here. also two friends, bolding ice because of his experience + very strong support in the tier. meta does not seem to have too much of either
ND Same Six: TPP vs temp - temp will cook harder. TPP is the better player but i feel that temp will pull through as this is a tier won in the builder
Mystery OU: dex vs shiloh - shiloh gingy called you a bitch (my bolding reflects the opinion of my employer)

Multi-Gen Randbats: SuperEpicAmpharos vs Casual dot exe - bolding the mainer but given that it's rands i wouldn't be surprised if SEA pulls through instead, as they're just a really solid player

PokeAAA: pannu vs SpaceSpeakers - pannu seems to have better support here and i believe they're the better player.

ND Same Six: Sificon vs Lady Salamence - sificon seems like the better player by a fair margin. don't see lady salamence having ideas that can edge sificon out.
Mystery OU: DugZa vs skimmythegod - DugZa will singlehandedly revolutionize Mystery OU Mono Colour.
PIC: yuki vs Chromate - exciting battle between two PiC tier leaders. bolding yuki as they're the better player.
Multi-Gen Randbats: Fragments vs Irene-2002 - fragments has far more experience in rands and is a more consistent player.
NDUbers: Ainzcrad vs Fc - Fc is the more consistent and better player, though if The Ainzchad really locks in i could see him taking this.
CamoCAP: hidin vs Mossy Sandwich - bolding mossy as he has more experience, and likely support, in this tier.

StabNmega: Elgino vs The Dragon Master - while elgino might be the better player, advt has more experience and support in this tier
ND Same Six: Roginald vs Micoy - bolding roginald as the player with more rands experience, but would not be surprised if micoy won
Mystery OU: Piyush25 vs Sylveon used calm mind - sylveon will cook harder and is the better player, though i'm excited to see piyush play OU this year.
PIC: Instruct vs Clas - instruct is a PiC tier leader and has more doubles experience.

NDUbers: Concept Everything vs Guard - guard is just really fucking good at AG
CamoCAP: saba vs Karl Dude Guy - while karl hasn't played in quite some time (to my knowledge), i think that his experience in camomons and support will bring him to a victory. not sure if saba has enough experience or support to bring a team on the same level.

As we venture into this first week of Tours Plaza Premier V (Fifth Edition), I wish to provide every participant far and wide with much needed motivation. We're headed into uncharted territory. Each and every one of us is going to war, and this is a fight for our friends, our teammates, and our families. As you go into battle each week, remember what you're fighting for. Is it for honor? Is it for glory? I think not. Those around you should be the only factor when it comes to achieving victory or not! Every ladder battle, every test game, every tournament encounter, I ask myself: "Will I be able to have food on the table if I lose this?" Whenever the answer is no, I play at 110% and win. For this rigorous season of Tours Plaza Premier, I want you all to battle as if your dinner is on the line—no, as if your family's dinner is on the line. I wish to see only the most methodical plays. I want you all to make Chess Grandmasters look like Route 1 trainers. We're all capable of it. You can do it, it's just on you to will it into existence. Pick up your sword and fight.

Since I've been in TPP since the very beginning, and was previously room owner for decades on end, many people ask me, "Temp, what does TPP really stand for?" (For the record, approximately 26 different individuals have asked me this question. In fact, 3 asked today alone.) To the average onlooker, it means phrases like "Tours Plaza Premier" or "Team Pokepals." To an individual like myself...TPP means "the power prevails." Some players simply don't have it in them to bring forth the ability to win. Others do. That skill is your power. And simply put, the power prevails. When you're down and out—the only chance of victory is a freeze into a critical hit into a dodge—only those with the skill to make it happen will prevail. Unlock that power. Some call it "luck," but I'm here to tell you that it's a skill. The power prevails.

49 arduous days of blood, sweat and tears will be poured into this main season. Only true gladiators will see themselves advancing to the playoffs. In my part of town, playoffs are known as "The Colosseum." Are you a gladiator? Are you a true warrior? I want you to look me in the eyes goddamnit, and tell me that you are a nothing short of a beast. I wish to interrupt my message by saying I just got a tingly sensation sent down my spine and tears forming in my right eye when typing this inspirational speech. Anyways, the only force that the power cannot prevail over is my predictions. I've already made completely accurate predictions that will spoil each week for competitors and viewers alike. Anyone who can defy fate (in this case, my predicts) is simply a different caliber of player. These are players that can alter the future, rewrite reality, etc. In this TPP, we will see the rise of literal reality benders. My left pinky toe is literally shaking at the idea as I type this. TPP players, it's time! Take up your spears! Grasp your shields! It's time to go to war!! Good luck everyone.

War... has changed. It's no longer about nations, ideologies, or ethnicity. It's an endless series of proxy battles fought by mercenaries and machines. War, and its consumption of life, has become a well-oiled machine. War has changed. ID-tagged soldiers carry ID-tagged weapons, use ID-tagged gear. Nanomachines inside their bodies enhance and regulate their abilities. Genetic control, information control, emotion control... battlefield control. Everything is monitored and kept under control. War - has changed. The age of deterrence has become the age of control. All in the name of averting catastrophe from Weapons of Mass Destruction. And he who controls the battlefield, controls history. War has changed... When the battlefield is under total control, war becomes routine.
