VGC SV VGC Team Build Advice

Hello everyone! I’ve been playing with this team for a bit and I would love any ideas on how to improve it. I’m still learning how to team build so any advice is appreciated!

Definitely struggling with tera types and determining which to use. I also really struggle with rain teams. Definitely looking to improve in that area!

Meowscarada (F) @ Assault Vest
Ability: Protean
Level: 50
Tera Type: Grass
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Flower Trick
- Play Rough
- Knock Off
- U-turn

My flexible physical attacker. Can hit a lot of different things and can pivot out if needed. Is AV a good item here or should I use a choice item and if so why?

Frosmoth (M) @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Ice Scales
Level: 50
Tera Type: Electric
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Calm Nature
IVs: 9 Atk
- Icy Wind
- Quiver Dance
- Bug Buzz
- Ice Beam

Frosmoth has kind of been the ace of this team. Gotten a lot of KOs and survived a lot of hits. Strong, bulky and fast especially with QD. Is Icy Wind for speed control a good option here? I feel like I either do that or QD but never both. What can I replace it with?

Talonflame (M) @ Covert Cloak
Ability: Gale Wings
Level: 50
Tera Type: Steel
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Brave Bird
- Tailwind
- Flare Blitz
- Roost

My tailwind setter that also hits pretty hard, typical Talonflame. Went with steel tera for the defense. Been pretty solid for me so far.

Gholdengo @ Life Orb
Ability: Good as Gold
Level: 50
Tera Type: Ghost
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Power Gem
- Shadow Ball
- Make It Rain
- Protect

Nothing crazy here. Is Life Orb the best item for this set or is a choice item better? Also should I be using a different tera type?

Hydreigon (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
Level: 50
Tera Type: Poison
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Draco Meteor
- Dark Pulse
- Nasty Plot
- Flash Cannon

This is my biggest question mark. I feel like I rarely bring Hydreigon and when I do it doesn’t impact much. It’s dragon type was appealing to me but I feel like I have so many more options especially since I have two big Special Attackers already. What can I swap in and in which role to really help this team?

Grimmsnarl @ Light Clay
Ability: Prankster
Level: 50
Tera Type: Dark
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Serious Nature
- Spirit Break
- Light Screen
- Reflect
- Taunt

Screen setter. Been pretty useful to bring as a lead when not using Tailwind. Which tera type should I go with here or should I replace with a different Pokémon completely?

Thanks for all of the help!

Meowscarada is too frail for av, it basically amounts to a sash, but just for special. Use sash if you are against choice. Adamant Scarf is an option, otherwise I'd recommend Jolly for sure. Well, since you have Tailwind it's maybe an option. But you would lose to Jolly Meow if parad or they have Tailwind too.

Grimm is wrong nature.

2 ice attacks on frosmoth seems wrong when it has many good moves. Dazzling gleam, Air slash, Tera Blast, Giga Drain, or even wide guard stand out. And why Rocky Helmet? It's not tanking contact moves in order to rack up much damage.

Since you are using Leftovers on Hydreigon, it should definitely have Protect. That would make you weaker to fairies(already 3 type weak w/ Hydre 4x,) so maybe just get rid of it like you say. Idk for what, I try to improve sets rater than suggesting changes, normally.
