Announcement SV OU HOME Tiering Announcements

The SV OU tiering council will be using this thread to announce the placement (OU or Ubers) of various Pokemon upon the release of Pokemon HOME.

There was a lot of speculation that Pokemon HOME would be released prior to or during this month. It seemed that this was coming to fruition as a release date of May 24th circulated last week. However, Pokemon has since retracted that statement and we do not yet have a release date.

While we wait for them to put the last touches on HOME and announce more information, the OU council sees this as an opportunity to raise excitement and set the stage for a post-HOME metagame. Given this, we will be announcing something new every single day in this thread! We have recently voted on the following Pokemon:

• Annihilape
• Basculegion-Female*
• Basculegion-Male*
• Chi-Yu
• Chien-Pao
• Espathra
• Flutter Mane
• Houndstone*
• Iron Bundle
• Landorus-Incarnate
• Magearna
• Palafin
• Regieleki
• Spectrier
• Urshifu-Single-Strike
• Zamazenta
• Zamazenta-Crowned

A Pokemon will need to achieve a clear supermajority in order to change from its status quo (unreleased Pokemon listed default to OU). This means the following:

• In order for a Pokemon that is currently OU or unreleased to start in Ubers, it needs to get over 2/3 (7 or more total votes) Uber votes
• In order for a Pokemon that is currently Ubers to start OU, it also needs to get over 2/3 (7 or more total votes) OU votes

*Last Respects may receive a separate vote (like Shed Tail) if multiple or all of these Pokemon are deemed Uber.

• May 22: Last Respects is banned. Houndstone, Basculegion-Female, and Basculegion-Male will be allowed in SV OU.
• May 23: Magearna will be allowed in SV OU.
• May 24: Landorus-I will be banned from SV OU.
• May 24: Annihilape will be banned from SV OU.
• May 26: Regieleki will be allowed in SV OU.
• May 26: Chien-Pao will be allowed in SV OU.
• May 26: Spectrier will be banned from SV OU.
• May 27: Espathra will be banned from SV OU.
• May 27: Chi-Yu will be banned from SV OU.
• May 28: Palafin will be banned from SV OU.
• May 28: Iron Bundle will be banned from SV OU.
• May 28: Flutter Mane will be banned from SV OU.

The first matter we will be discussing is a group of Pokemon: Basculegion-Male, Basculegion-Female, and Houndstone.

Basculegion-Male, Basculegion-Female, and Houndstone were all banned from SV OU's post-HOME metagame upon the initial vote.

However, all three of these Pokemon have a common thread in their movesets: Last Respects. Given this overwhelming evidence, we elected to vote on Last Respects like we did Shed Tail.

Last Respects was unanimously banned from SV OU's post-HOME metagame. Basculegion-Male, Basculegion-Female, and Houndstone will be allowed in SV OU upon the release of Pokemon HOME.

The second matter we will be discussing is Magearna. A reminder that since Magearna is unreleased going into Pokemon HOME, it needs over 2/3 Uber votes to start in Ubers.

Magearna will be legal in SV OU to start the post-HOME metagame upon the initial vote. It only received 44.4% support to start in Uber, which is short of the necessary threshold.

Any Pokemon that starts SV OU is subject to further discussion and voting upon the metagame becoming playable. I am saying this in part because I am personally scared about a world with Tera Magearna, but also because there is a chance this metagame has quickbans like the start of the generation did. This is all up in the air until things are playable.

The third matter we will be discussing is Landorus-Incarnate. A reminder that since Landorus-I is unreleased going into Pokemon HOME, it needs over 2/3 Uber votes to start in Ubers.

Landorus-I will be banned in SV OU to start the post-HOME metagame upon the initial vote. It received 100% support to start in Ubers.

The fourth matter we will be discussing is Annihilape. A reminder that since Annihilape is Uber going into Pokemon HOME, it needs over 2/3 OU votes to start in OU.

Annihilape will remain banned from SV OU to start the post-HOME metagame upon the initial vote. It received 60% support, falling a vote short of the necessary threshold to start in OU. I would say that there is a possibility it is looked into in the future, especially if anything happens to Tera or if it is re-voted on after DLC.

The fifth matter we will be discussing is Regieleki. A reminder that since Regieleki is unreleased going into Pokemon HOME, it needs over 2/3 Uber votes to start in Ubers.

Regieleki will be legal in SV OU to start the post-HOME metagame upon the initial vote. It only received 2/3 support to start in Uber, which is one vote short of the necessary threshold.

Any Pokemon that starts SV OU is subject to further discussion and voting upon the metagame becoming playable. I am saying this in part because I am personally scared about a world with Tera Regieleki, but also because there is a chance this metagame has quickbans like the start of the generation did. This is all up in the air until things are playable.

The sixth matter we will be discussing is Chien-Pao. A reminder that since Chien-Pao is Uber going into Pokemon HOME, it needs over 2/3 OU votes to start in OU.

Chien-Pao will be legal in SV OU to start the post-HOME metagame upon the initial vote. It received 8/10 support to start in OU

Any Pokemon that starts SV OU is subject to further discussion and voting upon the metagame becoming playable.

The seventh matter we will be discussing is Spectrier. A reminder that since Spectrier is unreleased going into Pokemon HOME, it needs over 2/3 Uber votes to start in Ubers.

Spectrier will be banned in SV OU to start the post-HOME metagame upon the initial vote. It received 100% support to start in Ubers.

The eighth matter we will be discussing is Espathra. A reminder that since Espathra is Ubers going into Pokemon HOME, it needs over 2/3 OU votes to start in OU.

Espathra will remain banned from SV OU to start the post-HOME metagame upon the initial vote. It received 20% support to start OU, falling short of the necessary threshold to start in OU. I would say that there is a possibility it is looked into in the future, especially if anything happens to Tera or if it is re-voted on after DLC.

The ninth matter we will be discussing is Chi-Yu. A reminder that since Chi-Yu is Ubers going into Pokemon HOME, it needs over 2/3 OU votes to start in OU.

Chi-Yu will remain banned from SV OU to start the post-HOME metagame upon the initial vote. It received 10% support to start OU, falling short of the necessary threshold to start in OU.

Palafin will remain banned from SV OU to start the post-HOME metagame upon the initial vote. It received 10% support to start OU, falling short of the necessary threshold to start in OU.

Iron Bundle will remain banned from SV OU to start the post-HOME metagame upon the initial vote. It received 20% support to start OU, falling short of the necessary threshold to start in OU.

Flutter Mane will remain banned from SV OU to start the post-HOME metagame upon the initial vote. It received 10% support to start OU, falling short of the necessary threshold to start in OU.

The thirteenth matter we will be discussing is Urshifu-S. A reminder that since Urshifu-S is unreleased going into Pokemon HOME, it needs over 2/3 Uber votes to start in Ubers.

Urshifu-S will be banned in SV OU to start the post-HOME metagame upon the initial vote. It received 89% support to start in Ubers.

The final matters we will be discussing are Zamazenta and Zamazenta-Crowned . A reminder that since they are both unreleased going into Pokemon HOME, they needs over 2/3 Uber votes to start in Ubers.

Zamazenta and Zamazenta-Crowned will be legal in SV OU to start the post-HOME metagame upon the initial vote. They both received 22% support to start in Ubers.
