Hey all, the council has reached another conclusion on the latest tiering slate. Seeing as the impact of recent shifts in light of the ongoing NDFL tournament necessitated such an action once more. As such we’ve decided to quickban Ogerpon-C from National Dex UU!
Ogerpon-CornerstoneBoasting monstrous speed and attack (effectively 153 > 120 with the boost to all moves), colorful coverage, and more than enough quickban votes to its name. Anyone who’s played recently can attest to the type of offensive presence Ogerpon-C has always been, but it is only now that it has since really managed to come into its own following several of the changes presented to us. With the reliable combination of Ivy Cudgel, its Grass STAB of choice, and coverage move of choice, usually Low Kick/Superpower, Play Rough or Knock Off, switching around Ogerpon-C, especially when complemented by Swords Dance, becomes very difficult to do with commonly used defensive Pokemon in the current metagame, not at least thanks to its sheer power against otherwise decent defensive answers in Skarmory and Buzzwole at +2, the more than adequate number of opportunities provided by the likes of Tyranitar, Ting-Lu, Rotom-Wash, Tapu Fini, Hippowdon and many other threats also outsped by it; sometimes even using Substitute or Trailblaze in the last slot to navigate around its more offensively-oriented counterplay options in the process. Stall teams that the tier has also given rise to following the Aegislash and Ursaluna rises also fare no better against it, as Unaware Quagsire and Skeledirge are easily KOed by its STABs outright, with the latter being unable to deter the incoming Swords Dance due to being 2HKOed by Ivy Cudgel as is. This being in mind, it has more than earned the reaction of (:moyai:), often confessed by opponents in chat upon encountering it in team preview alone.
So without further ado, Ogerpon-C is now quickbanned from National Dex UU, effective immediately. (and by next week for all those playing in NDFL)

We also voted on Iron Hands, Cinderace, and Iron Moth, the latter of which will also be in the clear for receiving a suspect test shortly afterwards. Being the biggest benefactor of Galarian Slowking’s recent rise, among other conflicting metagame changes experienced by the majority of players, it has been discussed among the council to the extent we will proceed with this action shortly and regardless of the outcome. We hope to continue making the correct decisions in the given time period of a suspect test and will be leaving it right up to you.
