Energy Ball Jellicent isn't completely stupid. Outclassed, probably. Specs Jelli was a thing at one point, and Energy Ball would allow it to hit the most commonly used Pokemon (Rotom W). Now if it was Absorb Jellicent, that would be completely stupid (since it gets both Energy Ball and Giga drain, which far outclass it); or if it were a physical set with Waterfall and Return or something...

4 SpA Jellicent Energy Ball vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Rotom-W: 78-94 (25.6 - 30.9%) -- 99% chance to 4HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery
Standart Jellicent vs Standart Rotom-W

252+ SpA Choice Specs Jellicent Energy Ball vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Rotom-W: 168-198 (55.2 - 65.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
Okay, its legitime...
but ONLY on specs sets.

Everything about this match is terrible, and it went on forever so I have so much material.

Return/Double-Edge Swampert (which apparently had nothing else to hit Gengar).
Fire Fang/Flamethrower/Fly Charizard.
Dive/Waterfall/Hydro Pump Empoleon.
Psychic/Shadow Ball Umbreon.
Dazzling Gleam/Drain Punch Blissey.
Uproar/Thunder/Thunderbolt/Hidden Power [Bug, Electric, Fighting or Water] Mega Manectric.

While I agree that it ain't the best move for Blissey, it gives coverage for Dragon, Dark, and Fighting types. Though IMO, Espeon outclasses it as a non-STAB D-Gleam user.
However, Drain Punch is just flat-out retarded.

That was hidden power water. Neutral against Aegislash and not very effective against Azumarill. That can only be hidden power water because steel doesn't resist dark anymore.
it was SE against Aegislash

"
The opposing Azumarill used Hidden Power!
It's super effective! Aegislash lost 28.4% of its health!

Aegislash restored HP using its Leftovers!"

There were others as well, including the honorable mention: Choice Specs landorus, but these are the most noteworthy.
Specs Landorus isn't terrible, it gets plenty of special moves to abuse Sheer Force. Unless it was Lando-T, in which case it would be odd.

Well, there goes that strategy...
My point exactly.

On the subject of that (theoretical) tactic, it would be cool to have a move in which the user switches out and passes its held item to its replacement (if they aren't holding an item). You could Thief or Magician someone's item off of them, then soft-switch out and give it to your ally.
