Silly Things You've Seen In Other Metagames

Quiver in fear as a new Extremespeeder steals the spotlight: It's not Diggers, nor Lopunny, Stoutland, or even Snorlax, but...
SD Porygon2 tracing Huge Power? That's right.

Note: My team wasn't meant to be serious, but oh boy, if that thing traces Huge Power and gets one or two SDs up (which isn't impossible thanks to Eviolite-enhanced bulk), it gets pretty scary. (and I know Sable stops that thing cold in its tracks)
Not even silly! I've wanted to abuse that for a while. I'm glad somebody did it.

Mono Dark vs. Mono Explosion.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/inversebattle-217614839
Two people who had difficulty embracing the concept of inverse battles. Also starring an Explosion Landorus-T (not like the previous battle had enough of that) killing a 1 HP Espeon.

Just two randos using a bunch of mons that have no business in AG, nothing to see here.

Talonflame is not Bird Jesus. You are worshiping false deities.

That is not how you use Xerneas.

Speed Boost Noivern is the least weird thing here.

Iron Tail Charizard-Y. Just... no.

The nicknames of the mono explosion team were what made it 10/10. Hilarious.

No Gods. No Kings. Only 'Mon.

(Well, unless you count his Mega-Ray, or "The Ascendant" as the Ubers viability thread labels him.) And the five Talonflame and seemingly random Mega-Ray--or rather, the Mega-Ray that existed just to have Mega-Ray--had me rolling. Literal Birdspam. And it worked! Oh, Species Clause. What fun can result when you go away.

EDIT: http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/unratedrandombattle-217721653
An Encore backfire where Shuckle locks a Whiscash into Dragon Dance only to have it stay in and, after getting to +4, take out three pokes (including the Shuckle) before surrendering to the sweet bliss of Life Orb recoil.

Recycling a Sash would actually be a neat trick. Of course, it's only possible for Sheddy in the one meta where it's completely unnecessary. Don't you just hate that?

Also, TIL Recycle works on items that aren't Berries.

Blood Totem with Tinted Lens, with its sweep getting rudely interrupted by Grudge Ninetales.

Dragon Dance+Dragon Pulse+Moonblast normal Altaria, among others.

I don't even know anymore.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-218347434
CM+Roost+Psyshock+Double Team Lugia. Now, I know CM Lugia isn't all that great, but in a meta with Darkrai everywhere... And another Lugia with Earth Power. It must really hate Klefki.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/tiershift-218346630
These guys may be decent players, but I don't see the point of using Dragon Dance when your opponent is running Trick Room.

Sub+Toxic+Roost+Fire Blast Salamence.

Why you run Sitrus Berry and an even HP number on BD Slurpuff.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-218351334
And to add insult to injury, yet another non-mega Charizard.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-218349809
Okay, PLEASE stop mixing up Ghost with Dark. The Roar Donphan wasn't much better. And quit using Dream Eater Darkrai, that shit is overrated.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-218346267
Showderp vs... I'm not sure which is which.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/monotype-218353545
No comment.

SubSD Ninjask passing to... Butterfree. Which immediately gets destroyed by a +2 Moonblast.

No, it's bad. Chansey gets Hyper Voice.

Also, how about Champ Minimizing repeatedly at +6? And that was before it was up against that Sheddy it couldn't touch. This is why we have Flamethrower, people, and it is also why that Sheddy deserved the comeback.

EDIT: Fiftieth post, yay.

I never said it wasn't bad, I just said it wasn't simply bad. There's definitely a logic to it: Spam CM and Minimize to become impenetrable and as powerful as one can expect Chansey to be, Soft-Boiled when necessary, then use Echoed Voice over Hyper Voice to eventually get around some things that could heal off Hyper Voice damage. There's no room for Flamethrower, and not switching out against Shedinja is a fault of the Champ, not the set.

It's exactly the kind of thing that Showderp likes to use, which is my point -- the garden-variety failers don't run sets like that, they just run uninspired, bad sets.

watch out, you might get cut on all that edge

Oh yeah, Echoed Voice has that consecutive-use bonus. Still, you'd think you'd want something on your team for Sturdninja (for which the blame does not lie with the Champ, who must use what (s)he is given). Why that Sheddy didn't have X-Scissor (or anything that wasn't a Ghost move) will forever remain a mystery to me. Thing could've swept the whole team by itself.

It didn't have Sturdy, it had Wonder Guard. It was AG not BH. Also, Sucker Punch ?_? Last time I checked that isn't a Ghost move

Watched some people try out the new AAA Kektus challenge. Saw some silly stuff happening.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/almostanyability-218528684
Ariados using Toxic on a Talonflame that didn't take recoil from Brave Bird. (Ariados itself isn't necessarily silly, since you can throw prankster on a hazard-stacking set.)
Protect Dusclops.
Vs. the above Talonflame at +4, the following mons are sent out in this order: The aforementioned Dusclops, Heatran, Dragonite, then finally an Endure + Unburden Rampardos that was outsped by Talonflame even after the boost.

Adaptability Ferrothorn with a Choice Band and offensive investment:
0 Atk Choice Band Adaptability Ferrothorn Power Whip vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Suicune: 320-380 (79.2 - 94%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
252+ Atk Choice Band Ferrothorn Power Whip vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Suicune: 338-398 (83.6 - 98.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

Alomomola's Scald hitting like a wet tissue.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/almostanyability-218531946
Intimidate + Dragon Rush Salamence.
Mold Breaker Hawlucha.
Thunder + Double-Edge Mega Aggron. It actually got the parahax on a Roosting Talonflame.

Someone getting PTSD from Adapdability Banded Ferro.
Someone actually using the Regirock set with no moves I submitted for kicks. (Granted, it's a good pivot, but it can't do anything back without losing 25% of its health...)
