She knows

Hey people, I noticed the lack of USM NU teams in this thread so I decided to post a really fun team I built and had great success with. While the team has its flaws, its still a pretty solid Stall Team which is really hard to pull off with all the threatening wallbreakers and stallbreakers the current metagame has.

Proof of the rank is right here:

Teambuilding Process
The team started out with a really unique mon in this metagame which is fast Taunt+Toxic Golbat. This pokemon has the ability to check a great portion of the metagame that will be explained below.
The first partner that I wanted to add was Alolan Sandslash since it is probably one of the most consistent Ice type resist in the tier. It also provides a nice form of hazard control with Rapid Spin while being a Stealth Rock user himself and pulling it effectively. Which is really hard to do in this metagame.

The next pokemon I decided to add was a Cleric that could provide a way to alleviate status conditions and that could also provide huge wishes. Audino was the best pokemon for this roll since it provided this while also having a great ability in Regenerator. It also has the ability to increase its bulk when it Mega Evolves, which can be very helpful in some cases.

After that I wanted a better way to control hazard stacking since that could be very anoying to face. This is why Xatu joined the team, preventing Stealth Rock users to click this move mindlessly and pressure Toxic users which are prominent in this metagame thanks to its ability in Magic Bounce.

Guzzlord was added to the team to give a better match up against pokemon that can be anoying for stall teams like Sigilyph and Delphox (and others that will be mentioned below) while also providing strong Stab Knock Offs.

Finally the last member of the team that joined was Quagsire. This pokemon provides the team a solid way to stop set up sweepers due to the ability Unaware, that can otherwise be a massive pain for stall teams to deal with. I decided to use Quagsire over Pyukumuku just to have a more offensive approach for my unaware user and not being completely taunt bait.

In Depth Look

Golbat @ Eviolite
Ability: Infiltrator
EVs: 248 HP / 160 Def / 100 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Toxic
- Roost
- Taunt
- Brave Bird

Golbat is a unique pokemon in the current metagame and does not have the respect it should have. The combination of great typing, natural bulk and the ability to use Eviolite efectively makes this pokemon really difficult to take out. Rotom's Volt Switch does around 47ish% , Slowbro's Psychic does 50ish and can be easily roosted off or be used as an oportunity to toxic something. Golbat can deal with a great portion of the top tier threats in this tier such as Decidueye, Passimian, Whimsicott, Sceptile, Comfey and even non specs Diancie. The ev spread used lets Golbat counter Decidueye due to it OHKOing it with Brave Bird while also outspeeding it, this spread also outspeeds Adamant Medicham (which should be its only set) and providing a nice check to it. Taunt+Toxic can be a great pain for opposing teams to face, it can prevent hazards from going up, beat common Stealth Rock users such as Diancie and Druddigon while also hard countering the most important spiker in the tier which is Garbodor.

However Golbat should fear its item getting knocked off from pokemon like Passimian, Dhelmise and even opposing Mega Audino, since it loses the great bulk it has with Eviolite making it harder to beat what its suppose to counter. While it has a great typing, it is also weak to Stealth Rock which is another thing that can complicate its effectiveness against the pokemon its suppose to beat.

0 SpA Slowbro Psychic vs. 248 HP / 0 SpD Eviolite Golbat: 164-194 (46.4 - 54.9%) -- 58.6% chance to 2HKO
252 SpA Rotom Volt Switch vs. 248 HP / 0 SpD Eviolite Golbat: 156-186 (44.1 - 52.6%) -- 18% chance to 2HKO
0 Atk Golbat Brave Bird vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Decidueye: 272-324 (91.5 - 109%) -- 50% chance to OHKO

Sandslash-Alola @ Leftovers
Ability: Slush Rush
EVs: 252 HP / 56 Atk / 200 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Rapid Spin
- Icicle Crash
- Iron Head

Alolan Sandslash is probably one the best spinners to use in stall builds. It provides a solid Ice type resist and is probably one of the best answers for Vanilluxe which is a huge threat for bulky builds although it has to fear Hidden Power coverage. Alolan Sandslash is the Stealth Rock user in the team and a pretty good one at that, since it has the capacity to beat Xatu and other hazard control pokemon like Whimsicott, Cryogonal and even the rare Defog Decidueye. The ev spread assures Sandslash the ability to 2HKO Xatu with Icicle Crash, 3HKO Passimian, Palossand and Rhydon with Icicle Crash and doing massive damage to Comfey that can always be anoying to face.

However due to its typing Alolan Sandslash has a huge weakness to Fighting, Fire and Ground type moves making it really hard to use this pokemon as a solid grass resist since Sceptile can use Focus Blast, Decidueye can use low sweep (and if it really wants to Z low sweep), Dhelmise can 2HKO it with Earthquake. This is why Golbat should be healthy the mayority of the game. While Alolan Sandslash can beat most hazard removal pokemon, it struggles with Silvally-Steel due to flamethrower being used a lot. Alolan Sandslash also struggles to beat the most common Stealth Rock user in the tier, this being Steelix, which is why it is paired with another way of hazard control.

56+ Atk Sandslash-Alola Icicle Crash vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Passimian: 117-138 (34.3 - 40.4%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
56+ Atk Sandslash-Alola Icicle Crash vs. 252 HP / 240+ Def Xatu: 194-230 (58 - 68.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
56+ Atk Sandslash-Alola Icicle Crash vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Palossand: 146-174 (39 - 46.5%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
56+ Atk Sandslash-Alola Icicle Crash vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Eviolite Rhydon: 122-146 (29.4 - 35.2%) -- 22.2% chance to 3HKO
252 SpA Life Orb Sceptile Focus Blast vs. 252 HP / 200 SpD Sandslash-Alola: 645-759 (182.2 - 214.4%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252+ Atk Dhelmise Earthquake vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Sandslash-Alola: 206-244 (58.1 - 68.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252 Atk Decidueye Low Sweep vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Sandslash-Alola: 212-252 (59.8 - 71.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Audino @ Audinite
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 248 HP / 52 Def / 208 SpD
Impish Nature
- Wish
- Protect
- Knock Off
- Heal Bell

Audino is the designated cleric in the team. It provides Heal Bell support with big wishes that make it great for stall builds while also being a solid Knock Off absorber. The reason I chose to use this pokemon over any other cleric (such as Aromatisse) is the ability Audino has, Regenerator makes it easier to pass wishes consistently and not be pressured to heal up. This pokemon also has the ability to absorb trick users such as Rotom that can otherwise be a nuisance for stall builds. The ev spread allows Audino to beat Nasty Plot Mismagius, Sigilyph and Calm Mind Delphox that use Dazzling Gleam while also being able to take physical hits from pokemon like Sneasel and non Swords Dance Incineroar. Audino can also be used as a secondary Ice type check if its necessary. I chose to run Knock Off over Dazzling Gleam due to the ability this move has to cripple opposing pokemon, removing their items.

+4 252 SpA Mismagius Dazzling Gleam vs. 252 HP / 208 SpD Audino-Mega: 157-185 (38.2 - 45.1%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
+2 252 SpA Mismagius Dazzling Gleam vs. 252 HP / 208 SpD Audino-Mega: 105-124 (25.6 - 30.2%) -- guaranteed 4HKO
0 Atk Audino-Mega Knock Off vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Mismagius: 94-112 (36 - 42.9%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
+1 252 SpA Delphox Fire Blast vs. 252 HP / 208 SpD Audino-Mega: 171-202 (41.7 - 49.2%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
252 SpA Delphox Fire Blast vs. 252 HP / 208 SpD Audino-Mega: 114-135 (27.8 - 32.9%) -- guaranteed 4HKO
0 Atk Audino-Mega Knock Off vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Delphox: 82-98 (28 - 33.5%) -- 0.2% chance to 3HKO
252 SpA Life Orb Sigilyph Psychic vs. 252 HP / 208 SpD Audino-Mega: 113-134 (27.5 - 32.6%) -- guaranteed 4HKO
0 Atk Audino-Mega Knock Off (97.5 BP) vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Sigilyph: 112-132 (39.2 - 46.3%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
252 Atk Choice Band Sneasel Knock Off vs. 248 HP / 56+ Def Audino: 124-147 (30.3 - 35.9%) -- 44.2% chance to 3HKO
252 Atk Incineroar Knock Off vs. 248 HP / 56+ Def Audino: 94-112 (22.9 - 27.3%) -- 66% chance to 4HKO
252 Atk Incineroar Flare Blitz vs. 248 HP / 56+ Def Audino: 174-205 (42.5 - 50.1%) -- 0.4% chance to 2HKO

Xatu @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Magic Bounce
EVs: 248 HP / 244 Def / 16 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Protect
- Night Shade
- Roost
- Psychic

Xatu provides the team a secondary form of hazard control due to its ability in Magic Bounce. This gives opposing players a harder time to pressure the team with hazard stacking and makes them think twice before trying to set them up. This can lead to interesting mind games that usually should favor the user of Xatu. The main pokemon that Xatu pressures is Steelix and Garbodor. Although these 2 pokemon can run offensive sets that can break through Xatu such as Curse + Gyro Ball Steelix or Poison Barb Garbodor. The ev spread is an old one from ORAS that is pretty nice for offensive Garbodors who creep enough speed for the standard Xatu sets. Xatu also provides another fighting check and can punish U-turn pokemon like Passimian while taking 75% from the rare Cinccino if they ever go for Tail Slap. Protect lets Xatu see what choice locked pokemon such as Sneasel and Vanilluxe want to go for, making it harder to trap it with pursuit. Night Shade assures Xatu a way of consistent damage which can help against Steelix, that could otherwise be anoying to cripple down.

However Xatu should be careful of other Stealth Rock users like Rhydon since this pokemon can do massive damage with its Rock type stab move and take Xatu's attack pretty well. It should also be careful of more offensive spikers like Froslass and Accelgor, even if they are rare, since they can 2HKO Xatu.

Guzzlord @ Leftovers
Ability: Beast Boost
EVs: 96 Atk / 252 Def / 160 SpD
Impish Nature
- Protect
- Knock Off
- Toxic
- Rest

Guzzlord is a unique choice for this team. Due to its massive HP stat and great typing this pokemon is a great fit for stall teams. Guzzlord has the ability to beat most of the most threatening pokemon stall has, these being Sigilyph, Delphox and Calm Mind Xatu while also checking huge wallbreakers like Dhelmise and Houndoom. Guzzlord due to its typing, can also beat the Slowbrothers (Slowbro and Slowking) even if they run coverage moves for this pokemon. It can also be a solid check to Incineroar and Decidueye resisting both of their stab moves. Guzzlord can also send out powerful Knock Offs and remove items from the opposing team. Protect + Toxic is a great combination in the current metagame, making it really anoying to deal with since it whittles down a lot of pokemon that might want to come in on Guzzlord like Whimsicott and Passimian.

252 SpA Delphox Fire Blast vs. 0 HP / 160 SpD Guzzlord: 106-126 (18 - 21.4%) -- possible 7HKO after Leftovers recovery
+1 252 SpA Delphox Inferno Overdrive (185 BP) vs. 0 HP / 160 SpD Guzzlord: 267-315 (45.4 - 53.6%) -- 2% chance to 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
252 SpA Life Orb Sigilyph Air Slash vs. 0 HP / 160 SpD Guzzlord: 175-208 (29.8 - 35.4%) -- guaranteed 4HKO after Leftovers recovery
252+ Atk Choice Band Dhelmise Power Whip vs. 0 HP / 252+ Def Guzzlord: 170-201 (28.9 - 34.2%) -- 99.5% chance to 4HKO after Leftovers recovery
252+ Atk Choice Band Steelworker Dhelmise Heavy Slam (40 BP) vs. 0 HP / 252+ Def Guzzlord: 114-135 (19.4 - 22.9%) -- possible 6HKO after Leftovers recovery
252+ SpA Slowbro Ice Beam vs. 0 HP / 160 SpD Guzzlord: 234-276 (39.8 - 47%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Leftovers recovery
252+ SpA Slowking Ice Beam vs. 0 HP / 160 SpD Guzzlord: 234-276 (39.8 - 47%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Leftovers recovery

Quagsire @ Leftovers
Ability: Unaware
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Relaxed Nature
- Curse
- Earthquake
- Waterfall
- Recover

Quagsire is the final member of the team and probably the most important pokemon in the team. Quagsire provides the team a way to stop set up sweepers due to Unaware, that can otherwise be a massive threat, such as Incineroar, Klinklang, Malamar and Scrafty. The ev spread maximizes Quagsire's defensive bulk and makes it take Incineroar's Z move into Darkest Lariat with leftovers recovery if its at max HP. Quagsire also beats bulky Rock and Ground type like Rhydon and Steelix. Curse is a must on Quagisre since it makes you a solid win condition but most importantly, it lets you beat Bulk Up Scrafty and Rest-Talk Malamar that could otherwise 6-0 this team. I chose to use Waterfall over Scald since it can beat Sub+Bulk Up Braviary while also hitting stronger to levitate users like Mismagius.

252 Atk Incineroar Malicious Moonsault vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Quagsire: 216-255 (54.8 - 64.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
252 Atk Incineroar Darkest Lariat vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Quagsire: 102-121 (25.8 - 30.7%) -- 4.3% chance to 4HKO after Leftovers recovery
252 Atk Scrafty High Jump Kick vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Quagsire: 133-157 (33.7 - 39.8%) -- 27.1% chance to 3HKO after Leftovers recovery
252 Atk Scrafty Drain Punch vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Quagsire: 76-91 (19.2 - 23%) -- possible 6HKO after Leftovers recovery
252 Atk Scrafty Knock Off (97.5 BP) vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Quagsire: 100-118 (25.3 - 29.9%) -- guaranteed 4HKO
0 Atk Malamar Superpower vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Quagsire: 65-77 (16.4 - 19.5%) -- possible 7HKO after Leftovers recovery
0 Atk Malamar Knock Off (97.5 BP) vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Quagsire: 78-93 (19.7 - 23.6%) -- possible 5HKO

Threatlist

Bulk Up + Flyinium Z Braviary is a threat to the team since it can break through Quagsire unless you manage to lure out the Z move. Although Golbat can probably outspeed and toxic it, its still a great pain to deal with.
The combination of raw power+great coverage moves makes this mon really hard to deal with. The best option is whittling it down with Xatu or hoping its Adamant and outspeeding it with Golbat.

Although this pokemon is really rare. Life Orb+ Swords Dance can break the team pretty easily since Leaf Blade can easily break through Quagsire and destroy the team. Same as above, the best bet is hoping its Adamant and outspeeding it with Golbat.
If Audino isn't Mega Evolved, Heliolisk can be a pain to face due to its great coverage moves. But it can be dealt with.
