SPOILERS! Scarlet & Violet Leaks Thread - Data/Mechanics

It was not. There were several such exclusions when SV released concerning moves and abilities that were unusable in-game. The other stand-out example is Bitter Blade missing the flag that would let Triage give it priority—which I understand caused some exasperation in formats like AAA. Has that also been addressed with the arrival of Comfey in the DLC?
Yes.

Huh, the Epilogue is releasing sooner than I thought. ...And involves Nemona, Penny, and Arven. ...And from the (relatively little) text dump scouting I did, involves people (like Carmine?) doing the mochi-mochi dance and then coming to.

What does the text dump say the "zombies" say? I couldn't find the word "zombie" anywhere in it. Maybe they're metaphorical zombies who just haven't come to yet?

I wonder if the Epilogue update may come with a small bit of new content besides what’s already programmed into the game — I say this because there are four* Rotom Phone cases in the game’s code that currently can’t be received:

1 and 2) the Scarlet and Violet Cases, which have actually been in the data since The Teal Mask

3) the Blueberry Case (Black), which you will be able to get from Kieran by defeating him at the clubroom after the Epilogue

4) the Neo-Kitakami Case which is a black-and-magenta themed case depicting the stylized “ogre” from the Ogerpon myth signboards

However, only the Black Blueberry Case has a method for obtaining it already programmed in. If the Epilogue update comes purely as-is, that would leave the Scarlet / Violet and Neo-Kitakami Cases unobtainable by any means, other than perhaps a wi-fi or serial code distribution. But I would think the Scarlet / Violet Cases would make sense as a final gift from Briar, who has just such a case applied to her own Rotom Phone, and who did kind of just vanish unceremoniously from the story after we obtained her book. Meanwhile, I feel like the Neo-Kitakami Case would probably be a reward for finishing the Epilogue, but at least judging from the current implementation of the Mochi Mayhem event, that isn’t so.

Some of these losses are really scattershot. Like a handful of pre-evolutions lost a handful of things I assume their evolutions retain, or stuff like Vileplume lost Drain Punch but Bellossom kept it. The legends losing Thunder Wave. The weird Swift exclusions for a move that's generally near universal.

I believe mattgcn's list is looking at it from the perspective of "this is currently a TM, but can no longer get it"
Mystical Fire isn't a TM and that wa sthe only way a number of Pokemon could get it.
Indeed! It's a particular Area of Interest to me because prior to the Toxic apocalypse of BDSP it was a relatively rare occurrence.

Just edited to remove Sludge Wave Weezing-G from the losses list. Must have messed up my query

Does anyone have a good resource / text dump for all the dialogue in the game yet? I'm curious to look up all the conditional dialogue (for things like the gym leaders in the club room reacting to you picking them as your favorite in the base game).

Also in the process of making a comprehensive list of all special dialogue conditions if anyone would like to share lesser known examples! (like I think it's pretty well known that Kieran reacts to you having Ogrepon in his battle, things like that).

https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/User:Abcboy#Text_dumps has been updated to 3.0.0 for a while and also covers all the other games incidentally.

This reminds me that they had early competitions to get Pokeball, Great Ball and Ultra Ball backpacks but never did one for a Master Ball. I wonder if that's even in the code at this point?

Also was going to say that probably not, just because the bug patch update was noted to be 3.0.1 and serebii said it would come "late January", but the notice does specify "mid-January (or later)". 11th is close enough, I suppose, unless its just meant to be a "silent" update that doesn't tick anything beyond saying "you can do this now"
As far as I can tell from searching through some of the common text dumps for previous versions, there never was a Master Ball backpack in the code. Was a distribution for one ever announced? I could believe it being something that was planned to be added but then canceled, but I always figured the Ball-themed backpacks were a parallel to the similar Ball Guy Shirt distributions in Gen 8 (which also only had Poké, Great, and Ultra Ball variants)

Realistically, I’m not actually expecting any other content besides what’s already in the code, but these little loose ends make me wonder.

That one specifically just stood out to me because I've associated the move with the line since Gen 2 so I was shocked to see they no longer got it, so I had to double-check

I mean as centro says that's nothing new, we've known about those since the item dumps.

My read of it is they were probably meant for some scrapped base game interaction with our raidons. Maybe they would have been the original way of reaching the Apex Form from an earlier version of the story, or something to that effect.

Since there ended up not being “Tera forms” at all for K/M, I would’ve guessed that those items would have been what enabled them to fly full-time… but instead the big lizards just overdosed on “flying supplement” :woop:

Still wonder if we might see that "customized distribution" (possibly the "pkhex lite" thing, considering what it seemed to cover) for Pokemon Day or something, or if it was just scrapped entirely like whatever the plan for these items were or the Heath interaction.
From what we can gleam the actual gift would be made elsewhere and then you'd download it in the game, so it's something they could throw a site up for. Maybe they just shove it into the next games.

I'm now getting huge Dream World vibes from a website version of the PkHex-Lite. Maybe it is meant for Full Unova....
