Here's a good, quick match I happened upon while checking out the new meta after vacation. I was using molk's team, and all the movesets for my team are in his RMT.
There are a couple cool notes from the battle that I really like as takeaways:
1) Weak armor actually hurt hazard lead omastar against doublade, when it took Iron Head surprisingly well turn 1
2) Gurdurr was a great special sharpedo switchin for the whole match. I had AV slowking, but I didn't wanna be near that STAB Dark Pulse. Gurdurr was a fantastic pivot, even with it's pitiful special bulk numbers. Turns 3-4 are a good example of Gurdurr coming in, scaring Sharpedo out with Mach Punch, but playing well around the doublade switchin.
3) Rhyperior's catchall ability was shown well in turn 5 when I didn't really have a switchin. It took Iron Head like a champ, and was able to KO back due to Gurdurr removing that Eviolite. See how a good predict can turn a close situation in your favor?
4) Dugtrio is weak as shit. LO STAB EQ did 33% to a 248 HP ev's Rhyperior, which meant in this match that dead Dugtrio. Imo Sash and Band are way better than LO, since as a trapper duggy really is only gonna want one move to eliminate the particular threat it's matched up against before swapping out. Either of those sets would have gotten the job done, while LO couldn't quite get there.
5) Turn 9 was a risk v reward scenario that I think is a good example. I could have safely mach punched on his sharpedo, but I thought he would switch. So the choice was between Drain punch, bulk up, and Knock off. If I knocked off, and he brought in Virizion, I woulda had to switch to Doublade and would have wasted the opportunity of a forced switch. If I bulked up, and it was virizion, I woulda been okay. However, If it was Meloetta and I bulked up, it would be bad, but Knock Off would be the best for Melo. I chose to Drain punch because it would hit either switchin for a decent ammount, healing up gurdurr to take Pedo on again. I hope that mess made sense!
5a) On turn 13 I had the same scenario. I chose Drain Punch and it worked again, but on Virizion, preventing it from succesfully setting up.
Well it's a short replay but I hope you guys liked it, I thought there were some teachable/learning moments in there so thats why I shared it!
