[ROCK] Leader ZhengTann vs Challenger JJayyFeather

The Rules said:
Format

  • 5 vs 5 Doubles, GL B8P5
  • 96-hour DQ (once someone goes over that, I'll usually leave a VM asking them to look at it. If their recent activity is twice over the time, a straight no-warning DQ may be requested by opponent)
  • 2 Abilities
  • 2/5 Recoveries/Chills
  • 7 Substitutions per round (excluding KO subs of course)
  • 0 Mega-Evolutions
  • Switch = OK
  • Items = ALL
  • Turn Order = COIN FLIP
Arena mechanics

  1. All Rock-types get Solid Rock and Rock Head in addition, if they don't already have it.
  2. In Sandstorms, all attacks against Rock-types also suffer -3 BAP, instead of just Special Attacks.
  3. All defensive moves listed under Rock STAB gain +4 Priority instead of the original +1. Pokemons whose primary STAB is Rock-type automatically gain knowledge of all moves listed in the STAB description, except Multi-target, Priority, or Damaging moves (Exclusion lists: Detect, Quick Guard, Wide Guard, Light Screen, Reflect, Skull Bash).
  4. No external rock, water, or grass sources.
  5. No seismic combos allowed.
  6. Camouflage turns user into Rock-type, Nature Power calls Ancient Power, and Secret Power lowers Speed by one (1) stage.
I'm going to be pasting this on every round to preserve my sanity

Team ZhengTann the Stone Wall

Stratagem - Erza (U)

A swordsman wields the blade with graceful precision, just as Erza uses her attacks with dangerous beauty. She walked in on one of Gray and Natsu’s brawls, and the resulting free-for-all wore on for half a day before Zheng can subdue her with a Pokeball. Unknowingly for her, that fight left a lasting impression on the two – they’re cautious almost to the point of fearful whenever in her company since then. Wendy and Charla looks up to her as a role model, though, and it was Erza who took care of them, even though she was newer to the family.

Chargestone Cave is the hallowed ground for all of Erza's ancestry, yet she decides that she will withhold her instincts to evolve for the sake of her family. Small but close-knit, everyone looks up to Erza as the big sister, even though her quirks with boys sometimes astonished the girls and make the shy ones (like Juvia and Wendy) blush. After a series of long, drawn out clashes with Mirajane, both of them seemed to have settled to a cordial relationship, mutually agreeing to avoid mentioning the past conflicts, opting instead to look after the girls together and knock the boys down a peg or two when they get too loud.

It wasn't until the strawberry cake event that Erza finally found the courage to overcome her fear. The truth was, she was scared of shouldering her responsibility being a full-grown Stratagem, relying more and more on the rest of the family despite the lads' deferment to her leadership and skills. Resolving to do whatever it takes to protect herself and those around her, she secretly learn how to manipulate the nature from Mirajane, and the two became very fast friends. Although, Mirajane seems to have picked up some of Erza's racy quirks as well...

Nature: Timid (+15% Speed, +Accuracy, -1 Atk)

Type:
Rock type: Rock STAB; Adds an additional level of Priority (+0 to +1, +3 to +4 etc.) on naturally occurring level-up, egg, tutor, or TM attacks that increase only defense, special defense, or prevent damage (Full list: Acid Armor, Amnesia, Barrier, Defense Curl, Detect, Fast Guard, Harden, Iron Defense, Light Screen, Protect, Reflect, Skull Bash, Stockpile, Wide Guard, Withdraw). Reduced damage from all special attacks by 2 BAP during Sandstorm, immune to Sandstorm damage. Ignores Arena restrictions on Rock attacks requiring an external rock source.

Abilities:
Ability 1: Levitate
Type: Passive
This Pokemon naturally floats above the earth when released or easily takes flight, evading the all seismic moves. Earth Power will have 3 less BAP. Dig and Dive can still strike a Levitating Pokemon, but only if their user is over Size Class 4, has Levitate, is 3.5m or larger, or is a Flying-type. Other Ground moves can still hit.

Ability 2: Technician
Type: Passive
This Pokemon is more skilled at performing weaker moves, causing any of their attacks that normally deal 6 or below base damage to have their base damage multiplied by 1.5. The Energy Cost for a one-hit or two-hit attack is increased by one (1). Each hit in a multi-hit move is boosted by one (1) damage, and the Energy Cost for multi-hit attacks is increased by two (2).

Ability 3: Sniper (Unlocked)
Type: Passive
This Pokemon has deadly accuracy and strikes sensitive points, increasing its critical hit bonus from +3 to +6 on single attacks, +2 to +3 on two-hit attacks, and +1 to +2 on multi-hit attacks.

Rias Gremory, "Princess of Crimson Ruin" - Tyrantrum (F)

Rias is born to a rare family - one in which both her parents were present to take care of her. Before her, they already had a son - who grew up, evolved, and went away to stake his own territory. Being the younger "princess", Rias enjoyed all the privileges - and hardships - that her life as a future empress has to offer, before a cataclysm caused the death of herself and her whole family millions of years before the time of humans.

Being resurrected by Zheng, she is given to and named by Tanner as her Trainer, who somehow also hold another Jaw Fossil that can't be revived - probably because the piece held remnants of both her parents. It is rumoured that Rias' brother walks the earth again this same era that she does, however Rias does not know where to find him.

Evolving into her grown form, Rias still continues the search for her brother. And then she met Issei, then a young Charmander who knew nothing much about the world except the fire in his belly.... Who is just one of her "peerage" of Pokemons, each with stories of their own. She decides that it is high time she declared herself King, and she readies herself for the challenges of her very own monarchy by training relentlessly.

Nature: Adamant (+Atk, -SpAtk) - caring but stern

Type:
Rock type: Rock STAB; Rias is fast on her mind to add an additional level of Priority on Protect. She also takes reduced damage from all special attacks by two (2) Base Attack Power during Sandstorm, and is immune to Sandstorm damage. Her natural magic can mold and build rocks, ignoring Arena restrictions on Rock attacks requiring an external rock source.
Dragon type: Dragon STAB; -1 BAP on incoming neutral attacks Dragon itself would resist. Her powerful will allows Thrash or Outrage to be undisrupted by oncoming damage.

Abilities:
Ability 1: Strong Jaw
Type: Passive
Rias' thick fang and massive jaws give her incredibly powerful biting attacks, increasing the BAP of all biting attacks by three (3) BAP. Full List: Bite, Crunch, Fire Fang, Ice Fang, Poison Fang, Thunder Fang.

Ability 2: Rock Head (Unlocked)
Type: Passive
Rias' body and willpower fortifies herself in battle, preventing it from taking recoil damage from moves such as Double-Edge, Flare Blitz, and Head Smash.

Vali Lucifer, "White Dragon Emperor" - Aerodactyl (M)

Born to a lineage of Aerodactyl, with lineages going back as far as time immemorial, Vali was one of the few exceptional case born with great potential. But only one of them. And so he struggled to rise far and above those before it, with the competitive spirit beyond what most would even comprehend. He would use every bit of strength at his disposal just to further his training, and to beat every strong opponent that not just stood in his way, but also those he actively seek out. Currently his long-term project involves resurrecting God to Its True Forme, and challenging it to combat.

Nature: Jolly (+15% Speed, + Accuracy, -1 SpA)

Type:
Rock Type: Rock STAB; Adds an additional level of Priority (+0 to +1, +3 to +4 etc.) on naturally occurring level-up, egg, tutor, or TM attacks that increase only defense, special defense, or prevent damage (Full list: Acid Armor, Amnesia, Barrier, Defense Curl, Detect, Quick Guard, Harden, Iron Defense, Light Screen, Reflect, Skull Bash, Stockpile, Wide Guard, Withdraw). Reduced damage from all special attacks by two (2) Base Attack Power during Sandstorm, immune to Sandstorm damage. Ignores Arena restrictions on Rock attacks requiring an external rock source.

Flying Type: Flying STAB; immunity to Ground attacks and the Arena Trap Ability except under the effects of Smack Down and Gravity, even for ground-based flying Pokemon. Will always hit foes with Dig (except other Flying types) and Dive. Cannot be hit by Dive unless the attacking Pokemon has a si e class greater than four (4). Able to hit Pokemon in the evasive stage of Bounce, Fly or Sky Drop with single target moves that hit Pokemon on the field regardless of position.

Ability 1: Rock Head
Type: Passive
The use of magic power to substitute for life force means Vali does not take recoil damage from moves such as Double-Edge, Flare Blitz, and Head Smash. (This does not prevent recoil damage from Struggle.)

Ability 2: Pressure
Type: Passive
Vali's lineage and raw power means his presence fills the air with intense anxiety, and any damaging or status attack launched at him would cost the his opponents two (2) more energy to perform without sufficient will to overcome his.

Ability 3: Unnerve (Hidden)
Type: Passive
The Pokemon's presence causes immense tension in the opponent, preventing them from eating a held Berry. Natural Gift may still be used.

Ability 4: Tough Claws (Mega-Evo only)
Type: Toggle
Vali infuses his magic power to enhance the power of all of its contact attacks by two (2) BAP.

Yamarashi (Alolan-Golem) (M)

Threat Category III. Thought to be terminated, Yamarashi makes a return after ingesting magnetic rocks and learning to throw its brethren with them.

Nature: Sassy (+1 Special Defense, -15% Speed, -10% Evasion)

Type:
Rock type: Rock STAB; Adds an additional level of Priority (+0 to +1, +3 to +4 etc.) on naturally occurring level-up, egg, tutor, or TM attacks that increase only defense, special defense, or prevent damage (Full list: Acid Armor, Amnesia, Barrier, Defense Curl, Detect, Quick Guard, Harden, Iron Defense, Light Screen, Reflect, Skull Bash, Stockpile, Wide Guard, Withdraw). Reduced damage from all special attacks by two (2) Base Attack Power during Sandstorm, immune to Sandstorm damage. Ignores Arena restrictions on Rock attacks requiring an external rock source.

Electric type: Electric STAB; immune to paralysis status.

Abilities:
Ability 1: Magnet Pull
Type: Trigger
Steel-types cannot switch out in a Switch=OK battle while Yamarashi is on the field without the use of Baton Pass, U-turn, or Volt Switch. In addition, Yamarashi can generate a electro-magnetic field that can attract or repulse Steel-type Pokemon. Only the most recent Magnet Pull command on a target will affect them.
Command: Activate Magnet Pull (Attract target) - 5 En - The target's contact will fail against targets other than the user of Magnet Pull (Attract) for three (3) actions.
Command: Activate Magnet Pull (Repulse target) - 5 En - The target's contact attacks will fail against the user of Magnet Pull (Repulse) for three (3) actions.

Ability 2: Sturdy

Only Normal-typed moves changed by Galvanize receive this boost. If a Pokemon has been skill-swapped multiple abilities that change Normal-type attacks, the attacks become dual-typed, but the BAP boosts of the abilities do not stack.

Throh [M] [Newman]
Nature: Adamant
Type: Fighting

[Abilities]: Guts | Inner Focus | Mold Breaker [Hidden]

Guts (Passive)
This Pokemon is tenacious and will work ever harder when under a status condition, raising the Base Attack Power of all its physical attacks by three (3). Pokemon with Guts ignore the attack drop from burn.

Inner Focus (Passive)
When an opponent attempts to flinch this Pokemon, it stands firm and continues its attack. If it has another ability that would be activated by flinching, that ability activates.

Mold Breaker (Passive)
Whenever this Pokemon attacks, it emits an invisible, blindingly quick pulse preceding the attack that disables the opponents natural abilities. (e.g. Levitators plummet towards the ground before Earthquake hits, etc.) Attacks are still redirected by Lightningrod/Storm Drain, but damage is dealt normally. Status-immunity abilities such as Limber will remove their relevant status at the start of the victim's next action.

Azumarill [M] [Zenith]
Nature: Adamant
Type: Water/Fairy

[Abilities]

Thick Fat (Passive)
This Pokemon has a great deal of extra fat or muscle that increases its resistance to extreme heat or extreme cold, reducing the type effectiveness of Fire- and Ice-typed attacks to the next level of resistance (2x weak becomes neutral, neutral becomes resistance, etc.)

Huge Power (Passive)
This Pokemon has immense inner strength that grows with its development, raising its Attack and its Base Rank Total by one Rank for each evolution level (first of three stages = 1, first of two stages or second of three stages = 2, fully evolved = 3). If Skill Swapped, the swapped Pokemon's Attack and Base Rank Total is only raised by one Rank.

Sap Sipper (Passive) [Hidden]
This Pokemon lives on a steady diet of plants and has developed defenses to every Grass-type attack. When attacked with a Grass-type move, damage and effects are negated and the Pokemon gains a one (1) stage boost to its Attack stage (adjusting the natural stage).

Druddigon [F] [Leah]
Nature: Quiet
Type: Dragon

[Abilities]

Rough Skin (Passive): When struck with a contact attack, this Pokemon's abrasive skin causes pain to the opponent, dealing 25% of the damage received to the opponent.
Sheer Force (Toggle): At default this Pokemon can energize all its attacks with a secondary effect (These are damaging moves that either lower the target's stats, raise the user's stats, or inflict a status condition on the target). The Base Attack Power of every move with a secondary effect increases by two (2), but they will never have their usual secondary effect. When toggled, no effect.
Mold Breaker (Passive) [Hidden]: Whenever this Pokemon attacks, it emits an invisible, blindingly quick pulse preceding the attack that disables the opponents natural abilities. (e.g. Levitators plummet towards the ground before Earthquake hits, etc.) Attacks are still redirected by Lightningrod/Storm Drain, but damage is dealt normally. Status-immunity abilities such as Limber will remove their relevant status at the start of the victim's next action. For a full list of affected abilities, see http://pastebin.com/sMZktgbV.

"Coming to you LIVE from ZhengTann's Rock Gym!"

"YeeeAAAAaaahhhh!"

"This desert duel features the Rock Master ZhengTann defending his turf once more against JJayyFeather (who we'll mercifully be calling Jayy for the remainder of the broadcast). ZT has brought his usual contingent of Rock-types, so let's look at what Jayy's packing."

"Yes, um, uh... very interesting. Back to you, ET."

"Uh, okay. Nice analysis. Jayy seems to be looking to pound ZT's team into the sand with bruising physical attackers, which may prove challenging against the high defense of many of the leader's Pokemon; indeed, given the arena's effects, any assault at all will be heavily weakened. But without further ado, let's get this match under way! We'll flip the coin to determine right of way..."

ZT sends <=5000; Jayy sends >5000

Eurgh. This is difficult. Jayy please note that there is still no water source so please Dig and eat my Earthquakes.

"Let's hit the rewind button!"
  • Yamarashi (Golem-A w/ Link Cable @ Sturdy, Galvanize, Solid Rock, Rock Head)
  • Insurrector (Gigalith w/ Link Cable @ Sand Stream, Sturdy, Solid Rock, Rock Head)
Yamarashi (Golem-A w/ Link Cable): Double-Edge > Frustration > Double-Edge, all @ Zenith-Azumarill.
IF Zenith-Azumarill is under the effects of Protective/Evasive moves, THEN replace that action with Stone Edge @ Leah-Druddigon instead.
IF Zenith-Azumarill is under the evasive phase of a Damaging Evasive move when Golem-A is to act AND Golem-A is NOT under the effects of Smack Down AND Gravity is NOT in effect, THEN replace the first instance with Magnet Rise instead, pushing remaining queue back.
IF Zenith-Azumarill is under the evasive phase of a Damaging Evasive move when Golem-A is to act AND Golem-A is unable to use Magnet Rise, THEN replace that action with Stone Edge @ Leah-Druddigon instead, pushing remaining queue back.
IF, at the start of the action, Leah-Druddigon is ordered to use Earthquake AND Insurrector-Gigalith is unable to use Wide Guard, THEN replace that action with Wide Guard instead, pushing remaining queue back.
IF Zenith-Azumarill is KO'ed, THEN replace that action with Stone Edge @ Leah-Druddigon instead.

Insurrector (Gigalith w/ Link Cable): [Activate: Sand Stream] Smack Down (Zenith-Azumarill) > Rock Slide > Stone Edge (Zenith-Azumarill)
IF, at the start of the action, Zenith-Azumarill AND Leah-Druddigon are are both ordered to use Surf, THEN replace that action with Wide Guard instead, pushing remaining queue back.
IF, at the start of the action, Leah-Druddigon is ordered to use Earthquake, THEN replace that action with Wide Guard instead, pushing remaining queue back.
IF Zenith-Azumarill is under the evasive phase of a Damaging Evasive move when Insurrector-Gigalith is to act AND Insurrector-Gigalith was only targeting Zenith-Azumarill, THEN replace that action with Stone Edge @ Leah-Druddigon instead, pushing remaining queue back.
IF Zenith-Azumarill is KO'ed, THEN replace the first instance with Stealth Rock, and redirect subsequent instances @ Leah-Druddigon instead.
