Yo where Ken at
[OVERVIEW]
Thanks to the combination of great typing, decent bulk, reliable recovery, and a great ability in Unaware, Quagsire has the ability to stop a lot of the most threatening setup sweepers in the tier, including the likes of Klinklang, Incineroar, Braviary, and Scrafty, making it a solid pick for stall builds. A great typing in Water / Ground leaves Quagsire with only one weakness. This, paired with its decent physical bulk, lets it counter most Stealth Rock users like Steelix, Rhydon, and Piloswine as well as the most prominent Fire-type Pokemon, Incineroar.
However, a 4x weakness to Grass makes Quagsire susceptible to Pokemon like Sceptile, Dhelmise, and Whimsicott. Quagsire also has a mediocre Special Defense stat, making it unlikely to check special setup sweepers such as Delphox, Mismagius, and Vivillon, and leaving it susceptible to strong special attackers such as Vanilluxe, Guzzlord, and Vikavolt. Quagsire's low offensive stats render it a pretty passive Pokemon that can invite in threatening Pokemon like Slowbro and Guzzlord. It also faces competition from Pyukumuku, which has better bulk and better utility moves like Block and Spite; the main advantage Quagsire has over Pyukumuku is that it isn't useless against Taunt and Substitute users like Mismagius and Decidueye.

Moves
========
Curse boosts Quagsire's Defense and Attack, making it easier for Quagsire to take physical hits from setup sweepers like Incineroar and Braviary and hit back. It can also make Quagsire a niche late-game sweeper. Scald is the most spammable move Quagsire has, since it can punish Grass-type Pokemon such as Decidueye, Dhelmise, and Torterra for switching in by burning them. Earthquake is the strongest STAB move Quagsire has and can hit common Stealth Rock and Spikes users like Garbodor and Steelix for super effective damage while also doing decent damage to neutral targets such as Vanilluxe, Passimian, and Guzzlord. If Quagsire uses Ice Punch, it has the ability to hit Pokemon that are immune to Ground such as Sigilyph, Braviary, Mismagius, and Rotom as well as punish frail Grass-type Pokemon like Sceptile and Whimsicott. Ice Punch paired with Curse lets Quagsire beat Bulk Up Braviary, which can be a big problem for stall builds. Recover provides longevity throughout the game.
Set Details
========
An Impish or Relaxed nature paired with maximum HP and Defense investment allows Quagsire to take on a lot of physical attackers, including Incineroar, Passimian, and Sneasel. Unaware allows Quagsire to check setup sweepers like Incineroar, Klinklang, and Braviary. Leftovers provides Quagsire with a form of passive recovery, which helps it reduce the number of times it has to go for Recover.
Usage Tips
========
Quagsire should be switched into setup sweepers like Incineroar, Braviary, Klinklang, and Scrafty. While it's in, Quagsire should try to weaken Pokemon using Scald, since it can cripple its switch-ins with a burn. Earthquake is the strongest STAB move Quagsire has and should be used to weaken bulky Poison-type Pokemon like Garbodor and special attackers that might switch in like Vanilluxe; however, be wary of Flying-type Pokemon or Pokemon with Levitate. Curse should be used to reduce damage from Incineroar and Bulk Up sweepers such as Braviary, Scrafty, and Malamar. If Quagsire is using Ice Punch, it should be used to hit Earthquake-immune Pokemon and Grass-type Pokemon that might switch in. Quagsire should avoid being hit with Grass-type attacks and Toxic, since this cripples its ability to check setup sweepers. It should also scout for strong Z-Moves from Pokemon like Braviary and Incineroar, which can 2HKO it when combined with another strong move.
Team Options
========
Quagsire should be used on bulky offense or stall builds that appreciate a way to check setup sweepers. These usually have cleric Pokemon like Diancie and Audino, which can cure any status Quagsire receives. Audino can also pass huge Wishes to keep Quagsire healthy throughout the battle. Pokemon that resist Grass-type attacks such as Braviary and Vileplume are also very helpful to Quagsire, since they are able to take these hits and retaliate with strong STAB attacks. Golbat is especially helpful, since it can provide a form of entry hazard control in Defog while also checking the majority of Grass-type Pokemon. Guzzlord and Alolan Sandslash also make great partners because they can help cover Quagsire's mediocre Special Defense and beat special attackers like Vanilluxe, Delphox, and Sceptile.

Other Options
=============
Toxic can be used over Curse to pressure Grass-types and other Pokemon that can come in on Quagsire with residual damage. Protect is another option that, paired with Toxic, can rack up more residual damage while also scouting what move Choice-locked Pokemon like Passimian and Vanilluxe go for. This move also helps Quagsire sponge Z-Moves from Braviary and Incineroar; however, it makes Quagsire more vulnerable to Pokemon like Scrafty, Malamar, and Substitute Braviary.
Checks and Counters
===================
**Grass-type Attacks**: Setup sweepers like Decidueye and Gallade can set up on Quagsire and beat it with Leaf Blade. Wallbreakers such as Slowbro, Dhelmise, and Cinccino can also break through Quagsire with their Grass-type coverage. However, they all have to fear being burned by Scald. Other Grass-type Pokemon like Sceptile, Whimsicott, and Vileplume can switch into Quagsire and OHKO it.
**Special Attackers**: Slowbro, Sigilyph, and Rotom can comfortably switch into Quagsire and take advantage of its poor Special Defense and mediocre offensive stats, OHKOing or 2HKOing it. Vivillon and Mismagius can also take advantage of this and use Quagsire as an opportunity to set up. Vanilluxe and Guzzlord have a harder time coming in, since Earthquake can do solid damage, but when they are in, they can OHKO Quagsire with their STAB moves.
**Z-Move Users**: Although Quagsire can beat most setup sweepers, Pokemon like Incineroar and Dodrio can 2HKO it with a bit of entry hazard damage due to the strong Z-Moves they can carry. Delphox and Houndoom can use Solar Beam paired with Grassium Z to OHKO Quagsire with Bloom Doom. Aromatisse is another setup Pokemon that Quagsire struggles to deal with, since Fairium Z Moonblast can break through it.
**Toxic**: When Quagsire is badly poisoned by Toxic, which can happen when facing bulky Water-types like Slowbro and Blastoise, its effectiveness is compromised. A badly poisoned Quagsire is forced to use Recover more often and has a harder time checking setup sweepers like Incineroar and Scrafty.
