Clefairy @ Eviolite
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 248 HP / 8 SpA / 252 Def
Bold Nature
- Thunder Wave / Knock Off / Encore
- Soft-Boiled
- Moonblast
- Calm Mind
This counters swanna, knocks Klang, donks sub vigoroth, checks simipour, and beats duosion as long as you have one of those 3 moves and not flamethrower or something. It's also immune to hazards, as those two mons are susceptible to being spikes all over, and provides bulky wincon, and appreciates having spikes+a stoutland switch-in for support. Oh and sort of checks mightyena which is a threat.

Imo that Clefairy would be better specially defensive or mixed with this core but w/e. Normal-spam is cool and I didn't do a Chatot core yet so here we go.

Chatot @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Tangled Feet
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
- Boomburst
- Heat Wave
- Hidden Power [Fighting]
- U-turn

Stoutland @ Choice Band
Ability: Scrappy
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Return
- Superpower
- Facade
- Pursuit

Modest Choice Scarf Chatot does a great job at cleaning up offense, and standard Choice Band Stoutland does a great job at breaking stall / balance / anything bulky. Courtesy to Scrappy, Facade, and Pursuit, Stoutland does a pretty good job at Pursuit-trapping the many Ghost-type Pokemon that counter Chatot. Between Hidden Power Fighting and Superpower, teams that rely on Probopass, Golem, etc as their Normal-resist have a hard time playing around both Chatot and Stoutland and one of the two usually does bop the switch-in.

You have three days to post threats.

This walls the do and is gr9 normal check. Did this on mobile, hope set is fine. This thread got hit so hard w/the check compendium lol

Banned deucer.
Reserving Metang.

Worthless (Metang) @ Eviolite
Ability: Clear Body
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Def
Adamant Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Meteor Mash
- Bullet Punch
- Toxic

Thanks to an excellent defensive typing coupled with solid bulk boosted by Eviolite, Metang is a huge threat to the core. Chatot fails to do 30% with any of its moves while Metang KO's it with a combination of Meteor Mash and Bullet Punch. Meanwhile, Sotutland can only do 46% max with Banded Superpower & will fail to KO Metang afterwards & Metang can wear it down with Toxic while hammering away at it with Meteor Mash.

Solrock @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Def
Impish Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Morning Sun
- Will-O-Wisp
- Rock Slide

Solrock does wonders in switching on Normal-type moves, and this case isn't an exception. Boomburst hits kind of hard but can't 2HKO unless Solrock is damaged before coming in(which is rare considering its bulkyness, immunity to Spikes, and access to recovery, that also allows Solrock to keep checking this core). Solrock can easily 1HKO Chatot and wear down Stoutland with Rock Slide(you could Will-O-Wisp Stoutland when it's locked in like Return but it becomes rather risky if it switches out and you have against a burned Stoutland with Facade).

Trapinch @ Eviolite
Ability: Arena Trap
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Atk / 252 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- Crunch
- Quick Attack
- Toxic

TrapGodd,Mr steal yo steel,Om nom ladies and gentlemen the newest recruit of C- TRAPINCH.

Trapinch is a great partner simply due to its ability to reliably kill off pokemon that threaten this core mainly certain Steel and Rock types that can trouble ChatLand. It also takes out Kadabra which is an overall good check to the core.

Rapidash @ Charcoal
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Flare Blitz
- Wild Charge
- Megahorn
- Morning Sun

Megahorn Rapidash is a good partner because it weaknes Rock types for Chatot and Stoutland so they don't have to predict as much, and lures Solrock with Megahorn and beats Metang and other Steel types with Flare Blitz. Also beats most Misdreavus.

Probopass is a nice partner to ChatLand

smashing 7.png
Nijel (Probopass) @ Air Balloon
Ability: Magnet Pull
EVs: 128 HP / 252 SpA / 128 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Flash Cannon
- Earth Power
- Volt Switch
- Stealth Rock

Probopass traps Steels for Stoutland and Chatot via a faster spread and Magnet Pull, which allows both of them to simply click Boomburst or Frustration / Facade, respectively. It also acts as a slow Volt Switch, which gives Chatot and Stoutland a free switch-in. Chatot needs this given its miserable bulk, and keeping Stoutland relatively healthy makes it so it's more unlikely to be checked by faster threats. SR also turns certain 2HKOes into clean OHKOes, so that prior damage is greatly appreciated by the core.

Nice, next core:

Pawniard @ Eviolite
Ability: Defiant
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Knock Off
- Sucker Punch
- Iron Head

Exeggutor @ Choice Specs
Ability: Chlorophyll
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Leaf Storm
- Psychic
- Giga Drain
- Ancient Power / Hidden Power Fire

Pretty common core now. Pawniard beats a bunch of Steel- and Dark-types for Exeggutor, and most of the checks Pawniard has get destroyed by Exeggutor, and since Exxegutor doesn't have much switch-ins that usually results in a kill. Decent type synergy too. Can also use other sets here but these are the most common and arguably best ones.

You have three days to post threats.

Monferno @ Eviolite
Ability: Iron Fist
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Close Combat
- Flare Blitz
- Mach Punch
- Thunder Punch / U-Turn

It is quite risky to switch Monferno in on Exeggutor, as Psychic demolishes it, though it can switch without much trouble on his other moves when locked, and Pawniard unless it is at +2 and Monferno has no Eviolite. Even in that case, Monferno can rkill pretty easily with Mach Punch. Otherwise, from there, Monferno just shreds this core wide open, as it is able to outspeed and OHKO both Pawniard and Exeggutor using Flare Blitz and Mach Punch.

Rapidash @ Charcoal
Ability: Flame Body
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Flare Blitz
- Wild Charge
- Will-O-Wisp
- Morning Sun

obviously a massive threat, ohkoes exeggutor and pawniard and also has wisp to evade suckers and morning sun to recover recoil on pawniard. not much to say honestly, but pack a counter to this on any team using this core, a most sturdy fire-resists will do nicely.

Trapinch @ Eviolite
Ability: Arena Trap
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Atk / 252 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- Crunch
- Quick Attack
- Toxic

Yet again Trapinch makes a good partner.

Trap as previously told for the last core Kills/Weakens key pokemon that EggPawn have trouble with such as Probopass,Zebstika,Kadabra,Metang ect it also provides an electric immunity stopping momentum from Volt-Switch.

Stunfisk @ Leftovers
Ability: Static
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 Spe
Bold Nature
- Discharge
- Earth Power
- Stealth Rock
- Toxic / Hidden Power [Bug]

checks monferno and rapidash, while also being a stealth rocker that vullaby is hesitant to defog on because it is risking paras, but if it doesn't defog it is easily pressured, so either way pawniard and exeggutor are benefited from this pressure on vullaby.

Those are some good wallbreakers, but I wouldn't consider either to be a consistent wincon. Both are pretty slow, and Sucker Punch is pretty shaky...especially since a lot of people are teching in options to get around Pawniard's Sucker Punch. So, who enjoys having defensive pokes weakened for a lategame sweep? Gorebyss!

Gorebyss_XY.gif

Gorebyss @ White Herb
Ability: Swift Swim
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 1 Atk / 30 SpA
- Hydro Pump
- Ice Beam
- Hidden Power [Electric]
- Shell Smash

This core excels in beating down the opponent's team, so why not add a poke that can clean up the mess left in the lategame? Pawniard can Knock Off plenty of Eviolites and can also kill some faster pokes with Sucker Punch and cause general havoc, and Exeggutor has a habit of luring in your opponent's specially defensive mons that try to tank the hit from Eggy (such as things like Gogoat and Lickilicky). The result of all of that damage being thrown around and weakening the opponent's specially defensive pokes in particular leads to a team that probably isn't able to stop Gorebyss after a Shell Smash.

As an added bonus, Gorebyss can also help the core by providing a Fire resist. With investment, Gorebyss does have a pretty respectable physical defense. That isn't to say that Gorebyss can come in all of the time, but does mean that Gorebyss can take BOTH a Flare Blitz and a Wild Charge from Charcoal Rapidash...and there are similar calcs for Monferno too.

Taking the core's strengths and utilizing them to finish out a game and using the core's weaknesses to make opportunities to setup makes Gorebyss a great partner for this core.

Also here are some calculations:
252+ Atk Monferno Close Combat vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Gorebyss: 147-174 (46.8 - 55.4%) -- 69.5% chance to 2HKO
252+ Atk Monferno Flare Blitz vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Gorebyss: 73-87 (23.2 - 27.7%) -- 74.4% chance to 4HKO
252+ Atk Iron Fist Monferno Thunder Punch vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Gorebyss: 148-176 (47.1 - 56%) -- 80.1% chance to 2HKO
252+ Atk Iron Fist Monferno Mach Punch vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Gorebyss: 58-70 (18.4 - 22.2%) -- possible 5HKO

Risky to switch in on Monferno, but can easily set up on it once you are in.

252 Atk Charcoal Rapidash Flare Blitz vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Gorebyss: 94-111 (29.9 - 35.3%) -- 29% chance to 3HKO
252 Atk Rapidash Wild Charge vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Gorebyss: 158-186 (50.3 - 59.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

If rocks aren't up, Rapidash cannot stop you from setting up with Shell Smash. That is an asset if I've ever seen one. You can't switch in AND THEN set up with Life Orb variants...but as with Monferno, when you are in you can set up easily.

252 Atk Life Orb Rapidash Wild Charge vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Gorebyss: 205-242 (65.2 - 77%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Also yes, this is a bulkier Gorebyss. A more offensive one also works, but setting up on one of the listed threats is really, REALLY nice imo.

Pelipper @ Life Orb
Ability: Keen Eye
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
- Hurricane
- Hydro Pump
- Tailwind
- Roost

Offensive Tailwind Pelipper is a really cool Pokemon that I've been using a good bit lately, and it supports this core really well. In terms of synergy, it provides a nice Fire- and Fighting-resist, which is pretty necessary at this point. Monferno stands out as one of the biggest threats to the core, and as long as it doesn't have Thunder Punch, Pelipper can use it for setup fodder.

Offensively, Pelipper can set up Tailwind, making up for Exeggutor and Pawniard's mediocre Speed. It actually finds a lot of setup opportunities vs the Pokemon that are often used to KO Pawniard and Exeggutor, such as Pawniard and Machoke.

Thanks for the partners, will update op soon :)

Decided to go with a 3 mon core this time, Dodmen's core to be precise:

Jumpluff
Ability: Infiltrator
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Sleep Powder
- Acrobatics
- U-turn
- Seed Bomb

Politoed @ Leftovers
Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 228 HP / 216 SpA / 64 Spe
Modest Nature
- Scald
- Ice Beam
- Hidden Power [Electric]
- Encore

Golem @ Leftovers
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 248 HP / 56 Atk / 204 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Stone Edge
- Earthquake
- Toxic

This is a nice balanced core that provides a lot of type synergy and utility in just three slots, leaving the rest of the team available to use strong/fast threats to break opposing cores. With the core, you already have covered your Normal/Water/Fire/Flying/Electric checks as well as Stealth Rock. I know people like to hate on SDef Golem, but it works very well here as a check to Electric-types, which the rest of the core seriously appreciates, while still packing decently powerful Earthquakes and Stone Edges (shoutout Tect for that :D). And offensive Politoed can be pretty hard to switch into and packs a fair amount of bulk, checking most Water-types. Jumpluff rounds out the core by checking several threats like Machoke and Simisage while also providing some Speed. - dodmen

You have three days to post threats.

Raichu @ Life Orb
Ability: Lightning Rod
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Nasty Plot
- Thunderbolt
- Focus Blast
- Hidden Power [Ice]

Once Raichu gets a Nasty Plot up, it has the ability to outspeed and OHKO Jumpluff, Politoed, and Golem. Sadly, Golem's Sturdy has to be broken first and Raichu has to risk the speed tie against Jumpluff, but once it gets past that it has no problem breaking this core.

+2 252 SpA Life Orb Raichu Focus Blast vs. 248 HP / 204 SpD Golem: 575-678 (158.4 - 186.7%) -- guaranteed OHKO

+2 252 SpA Life Orb Raichu Thunderbolt vs. 228 HP / 0 SpD Politoed: 595-702 (157.4 - 185.7%) -- guaranteed OHKO

+2 252 SpA Life Orb Raichu Hidden Power Ice vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Jumpluff: 556-655 (191 - 225%) -- guaranteed OHKO

reserving Regice
Regice_XY.gif

Regice @ Life Orb
Ability: Clear Body
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
- Rock Polish
- Ice Beam
- Thunderbolt
- Focus Blast

If Regice is able to get a Rock Polish off with rocks up, this core is swept. Jumpluff is outsped and OHKOed with Ice Beam. Golem is OHKOed by Ice Beam if Sturdy is broken, and Politoed is a clean 2HKO with Thunderbolt. The only option for this core to stop this Regice is for Golem to have Sturdy intact (which is pretty easy to break) or have so much chip damage that Politoed's barely 3HKO Scald is enough to finish Regice off. The rest of this team better be prepared for Regice.

reserving articuno

Articuno as a check to Jumpluff/Politoed/Golem:

Articuno @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Freeze-Dry
- Hurricane
- Substitute
- Roost

Articuno threatens all of these with super effective STAB Freeze-Dry. While Jumpluff can put it to sleep and Golem threatens with Stone Edge, it can threaten them from coming in if Articuno is already out. It checks Politoed well, with it's immense special bulk. Make sure to pair it with a hazard remover like Vullaby or Vibrava.

Scarf Rotom-Frost as a threat to Jumpluff / Politoed / SpD Golem:

Rotom-Frost @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Trick
- Blizzard
- Thunderbolt
- Volt Switch

Have another 'mon with BoltBeam coverage that outspeeds and beats Jumpluff / Politoed pretty easily. Golem requires a little luck with Blizzard hitting and a small amount of prior damage, but OHKOes 50% of the time without any prior damage:

252 SpA Rotom-F Blizzard vs. 204 HP / 248 SpD Golem: 320-380 (90.9 - 107.9%) -- 50% chance to OHKO

Scarf Sawsbuck threatens the core of Jumpluff / Golem / Politoed.

Sawsbuck @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Sap Sipper
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Double-Edge
- Horn Leech
- Jump Kick
- Baton Pass

Sawsbuck can switch in on Jumpluff's Sleep Powder or Seed Bomb, any of tank Golem's moves and an HP Electric or Encore from Politoed and threaten to OhKO Golem and Pluff and deal massive damage to Politoed.

252 Atk Sawsbuck Horn Leech vs. 200 HP / 0 Def Politoed: 260-308 (70 - 83%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock

Bouffalant @ Assault Vest
Ability: Sap Sipper
Happiness: 0
EVs: 132 HP / 252 Atk / 124 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Frustration
- Pursuit
- Megahorn
- Earthquake

Assault Vest Bouffalant provides even more bulk to the team and takes hits from the likes of Articuno/Scarf Rotom-F (Beware of Trick) check Regice/Sawsbuck/Raichu (Unboosted) and other Pokemon that threaten or take on the core such as Exeggutor,Physical Floatzel,SpD Tangela.

Bouffalant also provides the ever so useful Sap Sipper ability which gives a much needed Grass immunity that increases Bouffalants attack stat. Although Jumpluff can eat up many grass types moves there are some times when it cannot risk coming in examples include Roselia/Tangela (HP fire/ice) and even on some occasions other Jumpluff.

252+ SpA Life Orb Regice Focus Blast vs. 132 HP / 0 SpD Assault Vest Bouffalant: 218-257 (59.8 - 70.6%)
252 SpA Life Orb Raichu Focus Blast vs. 132 HP / 0 SpD Assault Vest Bouffalant: 185-218 (50.8 - 59.8%)
252 Atk Sawsbuck Double-Edge vs. 132 HP / 0 Def Bouffalant: 171-202 (46.9 - 55.4%)
252 SpA Rotom-F Blizzard vs. 132 HP / 0 SpD Assault Vest Bouffalant: 109-129 (29.9 - 35.4%)
252 SpA Articuno Hurricane vs. 132 HP / 0 SpD Assault Vest Bouffalant: 102-120 (28 - 32.9%)

252+ Atk Bouffalant Frustration vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Articuno: 163-193 (50.7 - 60.1%)
252+ Atk Bouffalant Frustration vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Rotom-F: 153-181 (63.4 - 75.1%)
252+ Atk Bouffalant Frustration vs. 32 HP / 0 Def Regice: 163-193 (52.7 - 62.4%)
252+ Atk Bouffalant Megahorn vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Sawsbuck: 340-402 (112.9 - 133.5%)
252+ Atk Bouffalant Frustration vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Raichu: 262-310 (100.3 - 118.7%)
