Pelipper is an invaluable asset for offensive Water teams due to its ability to support its teammates with rain. In addition, Pelipper has access to a powerful STAB Hurricane, making it one of the primary ways the type is able to deal with Grass-types. With a Choice Scarf, Pelipper can act as a revenge killer and threaten Pokemon like Kommo-o, Hawlucha, and Excadrill. A Choice Specs set will instead turn Pelipper into a wallbreaker focused on weakening types like Grass and Flying. U-turn is necessary so Pelipper can pivot into its teammates, and Ice Beam is able to threaten Dragon-types like Hydreigon more effectively. Maximum Speed and Special Attack investment allows Pelipper to emphasize its offensive capabilities, with a Timid nature notably allowing Pelipper to outspeed Hawlucha with a Choice Scarf and Tyranitar without it.

Pelipper primarily enables Swift Swim sweepeers such as Seismitoad and Barraskewda to become massive offensive threats. Its rain can also help other offensive Pokemon on Water such as Crawdaunt and Gyarados. Pelipper often falls short against Electric-types like Rotom-W, meaning that an Electric-immune Pokemon like Seismitoad is essential. - Hurricane is a pretty powerful move, especially if its using the choice specs set. take out somewhat does not add anything to the analysis
Pelipper often falls short against Electric-types, including Rotom-Wash and Toxtricity, meaning that Electric-immunities like Seismitoad and Gastrodon are essential; Seismitoad is a particularly great partner due to also being a Swift Swim abuser.
- All this is true, but Gastrodon and Seimsitoad do not beat Toxtricity, Punk Rock Choice Specs boosted Boomburst does a ton to any Pokemon on Water teams. Maybe give a different Electric-type as an example. Also, Gastrodon on rain teams is terrible, remove that mention.
Cramorant's Defog support is also useful as Pelipper can be worn down quite easily by Stealth Rock.
- Cramorant sucks and even with the support it brings in Defog does not make it worth using
