[OVERVIEW]

  • Passimians Fighting-type, solid speed, and access to U-turn allows it to act as an offensive pivot on both Offense and Bulky Offense.
  • With Choice Scarf, Passimian is able to act as a revenge killer in the tier outspeeding the likes of Zygarde-10%, Lycanroc-Dusk, and Swellow.
  • Passimian has a really great Attack stat and access to Defiant, allowing it to abuse Defog debuffs, Intimidate, and Sticky Webs.
  • U-turn allows Passimian to act as an amazing pivot as it is the only viable Fighting-type Pokemon in in the tier that has access to U-turn it has a unique niche.
  • Its Fighting typing allows Passimian to take on premium hazard setters in the tier in Registeel, Rhyperior, and Gigalith, while Knock Off threatens Metagross.
  • Knock Off and Gunk Shot are perfect coverage moves to hit the Ghost-, Fairy-, and Psychic-type Pokemon that Close Combat can not hit.
  • Passimians moveset stops it from doing much damage to Flying-type Pokemon such as Noivern as it does not get access to elemental punches and Rock Slide does not fit on the set.
  • Although solid, Passimians speed allows it to be pressured by faster Choice Scarf users such as Salazzle, Noivern, Raikou, and Flygon whilst also tying with Gardevoir.
  • Passimian also has to compete for a spot on the team versus other Fighting-type Pokemon such as Machamp, Bewear, Virizion, and Toxicroak, each having their own benefits.

Moves
========

  • Close Combat is Passimians most useful STAB move, it is extremely splashable, and is its primary way of revenge killing Pokemon like Zygarde-10%.
  • U-turn allows Passimian to pivot out against incoming checks keeping up momentum on the team.
  • Knock Off is used as coverage for Psychic-, and Ghost-type Pokemon but also cripples Pokemon by removing items.
  • Gunk Shot is coverage for Fairy- and Grass-type Pokemon like Florges and Virizion.

Set Details
========

  • Choice Scarf with Jolly and max Speed maximises Passimians ability to revenge kill Pokemon, out speeding as much as it possibly can in the tier.

Usage Tips
========

  • Passimian should make use of U-turn especially when obvious checks are coming out such as Slowbro or Cresselia. Especially as Close Combat has only 8 PP and can easily be wasted on obvious checks.
  • Bring Passimian in to revenge kill fragile Pokemon such as Zygarde-10%, Espeon, Swellow, and Lycanroc-Dusk as much as possible to make use of it.
  • Passimian is weak defensively and as such should only be brought in on weak or resisted attacks.
  • A lot of Pokemon may need to be weakened before in range of Passimian such as Metagross, Roserade, and Salazzle.
  • Be careful of priority users when using Close Combat as the defense drops can come into play versus it.

Team Options
========

  • Passmian works as a pivot and would very much like to pivot into Pokemon that can deal with its checks like Slowbro and Cresselia. Pokemon like Mega Blastoise, Golisopod, Drapion, and Yanmega.
  • Passimian is appreciative of hazards to chip away at Pokemon it wants to later revenge kill or clean. Hazard setters that work really well with Passimian are Registeel and Bronzong as they are able to check Flying-, Psychic-, and Fairy-type Pokemon that threaten out Passimian.
  • Passimian can also make use of a defensive backbone that check faster revenge killers. Gigalith can check both Choiced Salazzle and Noivern while offering hazard support. Florges is able to take care of other faster threats such as Yanmega and Mega Sceptile.
  • Wallbreakers like Tyrantrum and Goodra make for good partners to Passimian as they can punch holes in teams and put Pokemon in range of it.
  • Healing Wish is useful for Passimian to be useful at the latte stages of the match and Pokemon such as Gardevoir and Shaymin are able to assist with this comfortably.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

  • Passimian can make use of a Choice Band set nicely being able to make use of its pivoting ability while dealing much more damage. This set is not preferred as it is forced out a lot more due to its slower speed stat making it need a Choice Scarf more to be effective and it also suffers from heavy wallbreaking competition from the likes of Machamp and Bewear.
  • Rock Slide is an option to hit Flying-type Pokemon for super effective damage but other moves like Gunk Shot and Knock Off are more important for coverage.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Faster Revenge Killers**: Faster revenge killers such as Flygon, Noivern, and Salazzle will always force out Passimian and makes its pivoting utility null.

**Flying-types**: Passimian is unable to hit Flying-type Pokemon for much damage, meaning they are free to Defog, Toxic, or get off damage on any check that is forced in fearing a Flying-type attack from the likes of Noivern, Mantine, and Golbat.

**Psychic-types**: Psychic-types like Slowbro, Cresselia, and Necrozma are all easily able to take Knock Off and U-turn from Passimian, especially if they are holding a Z-crystal. They also force Passimian out with super effective damage.

**Fairy-types**: Gardevoir speed ties with Passimian meaning you aren't going to be killing it everytime, also Gunk Shot misses meaning that if you lose a speed tie versus Gardevoir or miss versus Florges Passimian will be OHKO'd.

  • Passimian(')s Fighting-type, solid speed, and access to U-turn allows it to act as an offensive pivot on both offense and bulky offense. (don't capitalize playstyles)
  • With Choice Scarf, Passimian is able to act as a revenge killer in the tier(,) outspeeding the likes of Zygarde-10%, Lycanroc-Dusk, and Swellow. use more relevant examples like viriz and raikou
  • Passimian has a really great Attack stat and access to Defiant, allowing it to abuse stat debuffs from Defog debuffs, Intimidate, and Sticky Webs.
  • U-turn allows Passimian to act as an amazing pivot as it is the only viable Fighting-type Pokemon in in the tier that has access to U-turn it has a unique niche. could use a little rewording, "it has a unique niche" is awkwardly tacked on to the end. maybe "uturn allows passimian to act as an amazing pivot; it has a unique niche as the only viable fighting type pokemon in the tier with access to uturn."
  • Passimian(')s moveset stops it from doing much damage to Flying-type Pokemon such as Noivern(,) as it does not get access to elemental punches and Rock Slide does not fit on the set.
  • Although solid, Passimian(')s speed allows it to be pressured by faster Choice Scarf users such as Salazzle, Noivern, Raikou, and Flygon whilst also tying with Gardevoir.
  • Passimian also has to compete for a spot on the team versus other Fighting-type Pokemon such as Machamp, Bewear, Virizion, and Toxicroak, each having their own benefits.
- don't forget to mention its solid physical bulk as one of the first points - that's one of the main draws of using passimian
- add cb as a set; it's up to qc whether they want it first or second but it definitely deserves a set. id recommend starting with cc/knock/u-turn/gunk|rock slide with eq in oo. also, make mentions of cb's niche over machamp/bewear, most notably higher speed letting it get the jump on a huge portion of the tier (megastoise, nidoqueen, tsareena, metagross, speed invested mandi/mantine, etc.)

Moves
========

  • Close Combat is Passimian(')s most useful STAB move(;) it is extremely splashable consider rewording, as splashable generally refers to a pokemon being easy to insert on a team with no downsides (gp doesn't like the word being used anyway though), and is its primary way of revenge killing Pokemon like Zygarde-10%.
  • U-turn allows Passimian to pivot out against incoming checks(,) keeping up momentum on the team.
  • Knock Off is used as coverage for Psychic-, and Ghost-type Pokemon but also cripples Pokemon by removing items. maybe give examples, such as golis's sitrus berry or noivern's rocky helmet/lefties
  • Gunk Shot is coverage for Fairy- and Grass-type Pokemon like Florges and Virizion gunk isn't coverage for grass types so much as it is a way to revenge them without lowering your defenses - consider making that distinction
- mention eq's benefits over gunk

Set Details
========

  • Choice Scarf with a Jolly nature and max Speed maximises Passimian(')s ability to revenge kill Pokemon, outspeeding (no space) as much as it possibly can in the tier.
Usage Tips
========

  • Passimian should make use of U-turn especially when obvious checks are coming out such as Slowbro or Cresselia. Especially as Close Combat has only 8 PP and can easily be wasted on obvious checks. consider rewording or combining with the previous sentence, starting a statement with especially makes it a dependent clause.
  • Bring Passimian in to revenge kill fragile Pokemon such as Zygarde-10%, Espeon, Swellow, and Lycanroc-Dusk as much as possible to make use of it. like i mentioned earlier, mention more relevant mons
  • Passimian is weak defensively and as such should only be brought in on weak or resisted attacks. only true for its special defense. its physical defense is quite sturdy and allows it to switch into various moves without taking too much damage to threaten out physical mons weak to it - notably, it makes it a reliable offensive tyrantrum switchin.
  • A lot of Pokemon may need to be weakened before coming in range of Passimian's attacks, such as Metagross, Roserade, and Salazzle.
  • Be careful of priority users when using Close Combat as the defense drops can come into play versus it.
Team Options
========

  • Passmian works as a pivot and would very much like to pivot into Pokemon that can deal with its checks like Slowbro and Cresselia. Pokemon like Mega Blastoise, Golisopod, Drapion, and Yanmega. either complete this statement or merge it with the previous sentence
  • Passimian is appreciative of hazards to chip away at Pokemon it wants to later revenge kill or clean. Hazard setters that work really well with Passimian are Registeel and Bronzong as they are able to check Flying-, Psychic-, and Fairy-type Pokemon that threaten out Passimian. mention diancie as well, it's a good flying resist and takes on special attacks pass doesn't want to switch in to.
  • Passimian can also make use of a defensive backbone that check faster revenge killers. Gigalith can check both Choiced Salazzle and Noivern while offering hazard support. Florges is able to take care of other faster threats such as Yanmega and Mega Sceptile. specify scarf on salazzle and noivern, as it makes it seem as specs sets are able to revenge passimian.
  • Wallbreakers like Tyrantrum and Goodra make for good partners to Passimian as they can punch holes in teams and put Pokemon in range of it.
  • Healing Wish is useful for Passimian to be useful at the later stages of the match and Pokemon such as Gardevoir and Shaymin are able to assist with this comfortably.
mention poisons like nidoqueen, roserade, and dragalge - they appreciate pass helping to break down steel/rock types and can wallbreak vs fairy and bug types that pass pivots out of. they also can set hazards to help pass clean

Other Options
=============

  • Passimian can make use of a Choice Band set nicely being able to make use of its pivoting ability while dealing much more damage. This set is not preferred as it is forced out a lot more due to its slower speed stat making it need a Choice Scarf more to be effective and it also suffers from heavy wallbreaking competition from the likes of Machamp and Bewear. like i mentioned, give cb a set
  • Rock Slide is an option to hit Flying- and bug-type Pokemon for super effective damage but other moves like Gunk Shot and Knock Off are more important for coverage.
eq would go here for cb oo - it hits poisons like nido/drag and allows pass to rk rock/steel types without dropping its defenses, but isnt usually worth over gunk or rock slide

Checks and Counters
===================

**Faster Revenge Killers**: Faster revenge killers such as Choice Scarf Flygon, Noivern, and Salazzle will always force out Passimian and makes its pivoting utility null. (currently implies pass is outsped by these unboosted)

**Flying-types**: Passimian is unable to hit Flying-type Pokemon for much damage, meaning they are free to Defog, Toxic, or get off damage on any check that is forced in fearing a Flying-type attack from the likes of Noivern, Mantine, and Golbat. reword this a bit, it reads awkwardly - maybe put the examples in the middle after the comma and end the sentence after "forced in"

**Psychic-types**: Psychic-types like Slowbro, Cresselia, and Necrozma are all easily able to take Knock Off and U-turn from Passimian, especially if they are holding a Z-Crystal. They also force Passimian out with super effective damage.

**Fairy-types**: Gardevoir speed ties with Passimian meaning you aren't going to be killing it everytime, also Gunk Shot misses meaning that if you lose a speed tie versus Gardevoir or miss versus Florges Passimian will be OHKO'd. reword this as well - avoid using you, and make sure you note the compounded risk of losing the speed tie to garde and missing gunk shot.

As i covered in the old thread, i strongly believe Choice Band deserves a full set instead of simply an OO mention, post here:

After using it a good bit i strongly believe that Choice Band should be included as a set here, like i mentioned in the VR thread CB pass is basically a CB Machamp that trades a *small* amount of power and Ice Punch for U-turn access and a *lot* of extra speed that lets you get the jump on a lot of important mons like Mega Blastoise, Nidoqueen, Metagross, and Mandibuzz. Also if you switch Choice Band pass in on a Defog you basically get a free KO unless they have a ghost lol.

Both sets should probably have Earthquake and Rock Slide slashed with Gunk Shot (or at least mentioned somewhere) in my opinion by the way, EQ smacks Toxicroak and Nidoqueen in the 1v1 while Rock Slide hits Noivern and Golisopod a good bit harder than even Gunk Shot would.
This set is the goat and i will die on that hill.
