After 4 weeks and 32 people qualifying, we've reached the playoffs phase of the NDLT! As a reminder, seeding was done with ELO being the main factor, and tiebreakers being settled by week qualified and then a Best-of-3 series if the tie occurred in the same week. Here are the current seeds:

  • The 2023 National Dex Circuit information can be found here.
  • Best of three, single elimination.
  • This tournament will use the standard National Dex ban list, which can be found here.
  • If metagame changes occur during the middle of a round, they will take effect in the subsequent round.
  • Battles must take place on Pokemon Showdown! or the SmogTours server
  • Sw/Sh cartridge win conditions are in place; there are no ties.
  • A list of National Dex specific mechanics can be found here.

[2] hi.naming is hard vs sealoo [18] - gewwge and sealoo are 2 pretty solid players and have equally the same knowledge and skill, i dont see either in 2 but this will definitely be a match to see
[3] peap vs Xurkiyee [19] - xurkiyee is very very funny and has cool builds but peap will bring something thatll deal with whatever cheese he has to offer
[4] Octperlover vs Kayzn [20] - kayzn is the don
[7] Unowndragon vs aoyu [10] - upon further inspection aoyu has some absurd teams that kinda would run over UDs builds
[17] Autistic Soviet vs Weaselfie [32] - no words
[25] Lameflame vs ThinkCalmly [9] - a stall main going far in a tour is rare, i think lameflame will win
[28] Skip The Drip vs Ryuji [12] - now this is something im on the edge about, i think with the proper builds + play ryuji will win, skip is quite good as well and has some neat builds too but i got my pokedollars on the french guy
[6]/[27] Winner of (entrocefalo vs Strat8246) vs setset77 [22] - entro is pretty damn good at the tier, him vs seth is something idk about but if i had to trust my gut i see entro in 3 unless seth has great prep + good play

overall pretty cool mus, looking forward to watch games this round

[2] hi.naming is hard (45) vs (55) sealoo [18] - I think sealoo's structures are overall more solid and his execution seems to be quite nice with them, obv gewwge is still very competent so not counting him out at all
[3] peap (70) vs (30) Xurkiyee [19] - peap is really good and in this tier especially, where the high power level seems to suit his unique offensive builds. ofc they can backfire as well but I think hes nevertheless strongly favoured here
[4] Octperlover (40) vs (60) Kayzn [20] - neither player i'm too familiar with and both farmed their r1 opponents, leaning slightly towards kayzn for based on more knowledge on the meta
[7] Unowndragon (55) vs (45) aoyu [10] - ud is my goat, i think hes favoured here but this is probably gonna be an offense v offense slugfest and i cant lean too strongly towards either
[17] Autistic Soviet (0) vs (100) Weaselfie [32] - i'm sorry autistic soviet but i am hereby obligated to bold the person who farmed me
[25] Lameflame (70) vs (30) ThinkCalmly [9] - ThinkCalmly stalled twice in r1, in this tier im more than confident lameflame can take advantage of that, it'll be up to thinkcalmly if they wanna switch it up
[28] Skip The Drip (49) vs (51) Ryuji [12] - ryuji is very good @ this tier and strong favourite to win the tour although skip the drip is backed up by isza gassing and managed to knock kyo out so this could go either way
[6]/[27] Winner of (entrocefalo vs Strat8246) (65) vs (35) setset77 [22] - entro should take tiebreak, hes prob gonna take the round asw given more experience and more proven, if he loses r1 tho setset is probably favoured
