With the starting of the new VGC season along with this new generation I decided be part of the metagame from the beginning. I tried both friendly matches and ranked but before keep ranking there I shifted to Showdown to test out some teams and dynamics that I wanted for my playstile and I came out with something like this:
It's still a draft, so it must be adjusted a little, but I manged to get in 1200 almost 1300 in the ladder with this. I know it's not much, but I never succeded in ranking so high in the ladder, being pretty unexperienced with competitive Pokémon. I studied different teams from different former champions, expert players and I extracted the elements that I wanted for my team and for my playstyle, specifying that this is a Kingambit centered team, because I love it and I wanted something focused for him. But let's see it.
Kingambit
Ability: Defiant
Tera Type:
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Spe
Adamant Nature
as I said, I wanted something built around him, but most of the time I happened not to even bring him in battle. He works fine both with and without trick room, which is why I can choose to bring Toedscruel or not depending on the need. But still, I almost never lead with him because I prefer to focus first with setting tailwind and screens if possible. Occasionally I carry him with Sylveon or Rotom, but it works well with all of them. Really very versatile
Grimmsnarl
Ability: Prankster
Tera Type:
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 132 Def / 108 SpD / 12 Spe
Impish Nature
In fact, my setter. Almost always flanked by Volcarona, also has good offensive capabilities against a possible Murkrow, thanks to the fairy move. Parting shot allows me to neutralize other common threats like Ceruledge by granting me a free switch, which is why I always try to lead with him. Maybe I need to adjust his EVs because I'm using him defensively, but with 252 Atk he has a 75% chance of OHKO Eviolite Murkrow with 252 HP, preventing him from setting both tailwind and taunt, forcing him to do only one of the two.
Toedscruel
Ability: Mycelium Might
Tera Type:
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk / 8 Spe
One thing I have noticed with this team is that it allows me to face different threats depending on the pokemon I use to counterattack. If I sometimes lead with Grimmsnarl and Volcarona, other times I use him as a surprise trick room setter side by side with Kingambit. It also works very well with Sylveon and Rotom, a real all-rounder
Rotom-Heat
Ability: Levitate
Tera Type:
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
Probably the one I'm most uncertain about, more because of the fact that I already have another fire type on my team and I'm pretty vulnerable to water. But for the tests I've done it has performed pretty well. I'm thinking of changing it to Rotom-wash, so keeping the basic Pokémon but changing its typing, because I've been happy with him so far
Volcarona
Ability: Flame Body
Tera Type:
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
One of the most important elements for this team. Paired with Grimmsnarl it is just perfect, as the only real threat I encountered leading with them was taunt Murkrow, but as I mentioned before if I decided to adjust Grimmsnarl's EVs I could counter it. Otherwise, Gholdengo doesn't touch him, against Tyranitar or Garchomp I just teracrystallize him if necessary, while Quiver Dance allows him to deal absurd damage
Sylveon
Ability: Pixilate
Tera Type:
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpD
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
in a meta where Garchomp, Gholdengo, Tyranitar and Murkrow are the most common to encounter, Sylveon is simply the perfect counter. Against teams like that I always try to bring him, and against threats like Gholdengo, if I haven't used the tera yet, thanks to it I can resist his Make it Rain.

These are some of the changes I had thought about making to the team also to meet my playstyle, but due to lack of time I haven't had a chance to try them out yet, and more importantly I don't know if they would be valid
I need a tailwind setter. Corviknight was the first and most synergistic with this team to come to my mind, having very good defenses and a very good attack, but I definitely need to test it, and I don't even know if it would work in the first place.
I know that removing an important element like Toedscruel is not a very good idea, but Gengar's typing and set might work better than expected. Also it can set a surprise trick-room and is another versatile pokemon that would work well with everything
as I've said before, with the team in this formation I'm pretty vulnerable to water. it's true that Rotom Heat also has the electric moves, but still he's the most likely to be replaced by this guy here who I think simply works better. Again, my own assumption, I'm asking more experienced hands.
