Music festivals / wasting money over summer

Anyone off to any music festivals etc over the summer? Leedsfest, Download, Sonisphere, Creamfields, Outlook Festival etc etc?

I would have loved to go to Leeds this year, just to waste time with friends (I'm not interested in the music at Leeds anyway), but the lineup this year was so bad that none of my mates are going :( :( :( My mum even offered to buy me tickets haha. Ah well.

Sonisphere was probably next on my list but none of my mates will go with me :(

Creamfields would also be a laugh and I've got a mate going, but I don't know if I'd fit in too well with his set of mates haha... I guess it's a last resort if it all goes Pete Tong.

Despite all this, my older brother knows and works with the promoters for an event called "Cocoon in the Park" in Leeds, so I might be able to get cheap tickets for that ;) Very interested in my Techno / House music so it definitely seems like the right sort of place for me and a few mates...

Anyone got any stories from past festivals, or anybody going anywhere special this year???

i already know i'm going to miss hellfest which i wanted to go and take a vacation in France for, so that sucks. i want to make it to either Maryland Deathfest or Bloodstock but i doubt it. :/

I went to Warped Tour Cincinnati on '07 and it was badass.

If you're into stoner music definitely check out Bonnaroo in Manchester, TN. I've never been but I've heard some crazy stories from my friends.

i "want" to go to Coachella but i wont because its in cali and im in new york and i dont have the funds to randomly spend 3-4 days in cali alone

Coachella has OFWGKTA, DFA and a whole shitload of other indie stuff. Mostly want to go for OFWGKTA and DFA. Im currently regretting missing OFWGKTA when they were in new york earlier this year

that lineup for day 3 at leeds looks fucking fantastic.

pulp, strokes, national, jimmy, crystal castles, ofwgta would be a fucking incredible day.

im desperate to get a glastonbury ticket in the resales. if not ill probably look at some festivals abroad. ive heard the croatians like to party like its 1999, which it kind of is, over there.

probably going to end up going to reading on saturday (so same line-up as day 3 @ leeds), kind of waiting for the line-ups on the other stages to go up beforehand, day tickets never sell out anyway. reading is kind of a stupid atmosphere though, 3/4 of the people there go just to get perpetually hammered for three days, which isn't really my thing..

I would go to Mayhem Fest because Megadeth is my favorite band, however I do not feel the need to sit through utter horse crap such as In Flames, Suicide Silence, Machine Head, and Trivium just to name some. I would be saved from watching Disturbed and Godsmack because they play after Megadeth. I love Megadeth and all but wasting money for them and having to sit through a load of bands that suck after another isn't worth it.

Although I'm not going to any festivals I'm going to see The Toadies on the 15th of this month with my best friend and then I might go see Mysteryguitarman later this month. I'd love to go to Download Festival this summer if I had the chance if only to just see System of a Down though they might not be at their best after their hiatus
