I've been playing story mode, and so far its gorgeous.

Compared to MW2, there are a lot of characters you play as.

Spoiler
Delta Force Operative (Frost)
Yuri (ex spetznas, helps Price/Soap)
Bodyguard to Russian President
SAS officer
are all played as up to my point, and from what I can tell, you will play as French and German soldiers as well (or just end up in their as Soap/Price/Yuri)

So I was super sure I wasn't interested in this game at all, until it came out. Now I want it. It looks like it plays just like MW2 which is good news for me. That engine was beautiful.

Basically, if it turns out it isn't as air support based as it seems like it might possibly be and I have some spare cash and time on my hands, then I'll pick it up.

How often is air support up?

From what I've seen of multiplayer, there is three kinds of killstreak groups you can select your killstreak from. Assault is similar to MW2, support is all support drops BUT your kill count doesn't reset when you die. The third, specialist, needs to be unlocked.

PS: Also, the UMP and its over exaggerated power is back.

PSS: I need to confirm this with other rifles, but the Barrett .50 caliber has weight similar to real life. I.E., you move slow with it.

PSSS: Riot Shield is back.

Already played for a couple hours, and it seems to have lived up to its expectation of "mw2 without the bs."

UMP ain't that bad. Game's pretty cool. Quickscoping is back and sniping isn't retarded anymore, so that's good news for me. Guns are pretty cool so far. I like how you have to earn camos which sounds petty but I enjoy that.

Meh...halo cea is much more exciting for me. I don't know, I much prefer halo style play than cod. I most likely will play only the campaign for mw3.

Am I the only one who prefers halo to cod?

Got it at midnight and have been playing it almost nonstop since. Multiplayer is amazing. I'm really loving how smooth it is and how the killstreaks aren't quite as over powered.

Anniversary doesn't have multiplayer. It's just a campaign remake and then new maps for Reach multiplayer. Exactly like ODST was for H3.

Anyways, I paid $60 for a MW2 map pack.

Still hard to snipe somewhat since the maps aren't that suited to it.

And air support is usually up in almost every match. UAVs are everywhere too. The air support is more balanced however, so it isn't that bad. Pretty easy to get it though (use Hardline and the Predator as the base to your pointstreak setup, get's it every time).

So far there are no overpowered guns and no real balancing issues. They'll just need to add/patch some more stuff in (slightly better spawn system for one), but it looks good right now.

I just don't like how it doesn't feel like the MW line. Maps are decent, but definitely not the classic MW style (primarily stuff like Crash, Vacant, Invasion, etc). The closest thing to them is Baakara obviously.

But I'm having fun and will play it for a while.

*Edit*

To the rest...

Haven't played it, but what really makes me sad is that, despite the 2year 3 company production, it has all the same sounds and animations of MW2. I may be wrong, but from watching many youtube videos It just really does seam like MW2 Map Pack Edition.

My FB feed is a mash of either extreme haters or people claiming MW3 is the greatest game ever made. I'm not a fan, but either view still pisses me off. Just play it if you like it and don't if you don't.

Today I was off playing ICO in the corner so I might be a bit out of the loop.

I got the game today and I sold it today along with my PS3.

I don't find the fun in this shit anymore...too easy.

I have no problem with CoD itself, but what I hate is the fact that you can now find CoD tournaments, seriously, sorry to tell the truth but, CoD is a shitty game for competitive gaming, the gameplay is too sloppy and the skill-ceiling is really low.

Why ? In most competitive FPS (Quake, UT, "TF2"), you have to dodge while firing at the same time, you can jump really fast and high, and the game is reallt fast-paced, you need godly aim, reaction times and skill to get to the top, while in CoD, you stop and fire at a static target until someone dies.

I have to say, I enjoyed MW2 a lot, so this is good for me. It's gonna' take a while to transfer from Black Ops Maps, Graphics, and Weapons back to MW style, but it's still a good game.

One thing that pisses me off to no end;
they didn't bring back my mutha'fuckin' Ranger Akimbos. T_T
I don't care if they weren't as good as some other stuff, I still loved playing with them.

Seriously though, I probably just put it at least seven hours and it's pretty damn fun. The Juggernaut suit with the Riot Shield and .45 is awesome. I'm capturing an objective, and you can't do anything about it.

My brother got it yesterday (gave him the money to go out and stand in line as an early xmas present), just mostly did some special ops for now, probably gonna hit up multiplayer later when he has a day off.
