Modern Warfare 3

He camps to get knife kills from opportunity, getting up to 11-3, then he dies and then dgf so he runs around after that and ends 16-11. I don't see how that's any kind of proof that knifing works as a playstyle.

In MW2 you actually ran around with the knife and it still worked, but in that video he demonstrated (and even said himself) that the knife doesn't work well if you run around. His good start was the result of his playstyle, not the knife itself. Now granted he was trying for a 25 kill streak so running around wasn't a good idea, but again that just meant his kills were credited to how he played, not what he was playing with.

Knifing suffers a lag (or so it seems to me) in MW3. For that reason, just keep your SMG out at all times and be ready to shoot and not knife when the enemy comes into pointblank range.

So incase we haven't talked about this yet: there's a bug with shotguns with extended mag, the number of pellets in each shell is increased by 1.5 times when ExMags are equipped. This is obviously a huge fucking deal and does a lot to make shotguns worth anything at all.

for example: ExMags damage proficiency striker

QFT ggggggggggggggg

That striker video is fucking ridiculous.

Got MW3 on release and don't have XBL so just been slaving away on spec ops solo. Reached level 50 the other day and am about 3 maps off getting that unstoppable 15 waves survival achievement.

Fucking hard when you are doing it by yo'self.

good gravy train the pp90m1 is insane with rapid fire. It's not half bad at range either if you use kick to control the ridiculous amount of bullets leaving the gun. Steady aim destroys with it. I can actually consistently get triples with it spraying. quads not so much though.

So I legitimately played this, and... I was disappointed.

No, really disappointed.

I liked a few changes they made. Support Killstreaks allowed me to be a little more reckless than usual, and of course it helps the team a lot. This was a pretty good move on IW's part, for sure. I also like the Perk Streaks too, as they add a little more flavor if you like being a lone wolf or you need extra perks (which, in some gun's cases, you do). Kill Confirmed is a nice new twist to a game mode, and Spec Ops was pretty fun to play as well. Oh yeah, and FMG9 Akimbo is sick shit. Still...

First, before I go on, I completely understand that Overkill exists; however, the biggest thing I have against this game is the guns. Now obviously I don't have to go into 6 paragraphs on how the Type 95 is great, but I can't really find a sweet feel to SMGs anymore, Shotguns are really trashy until later levels (or if you get Striker / 1887), and the LMGs suck so much due to how quickly Assault Rifles can kill at a distance anyway. I don't mind that Quick Scoping is back, I guess, since I haven't been caught dying to it too much and I guess it is a bit more of a CoD thing anyway.

Maybe I'm just out of the loop, but I just can't find much fun in the game anymore. And I understand that others do, and of course it's more than fine for them. Ah well, guess I shall prepare for a good ol' flame shield.

Don't worry about being flamed here, we're all civilized!
But I kind of agree with you about smgs being tougher to use, mostly because of the damage drop off at a range. The MP5, for example, goes from a 3 hit to a 5 hit in like 9 meters. What I find is helpful for that situation is the range proficiency. It really helps with the P90, PP90A1, and UMP45. Gets them on par w/ ARs @ medium range. As far as the Type 95 being overpowered, i just hope they patch it lol. It really is out of control. Lmgs have always been gimmick weapons, but now that theres the speed proficiency, they can become potentially useful. Quickscoping should never have been changed in the first place imo, the scope has always been a power and skill weapon, just because you buff everything else and the community randomly starts crying over "quickscoping" doesn't give you (Treyarch) the right to remove it.

These are really legitimate arguments; no one should really be flaming you for this at all. close range doesn't work the same, long range is impossible with small maps, so its all about how guns perform at mid-range. In playing this game, I have seen but TWO LMGs used in multiplayer, both of which were the MG36. So yeah, they do suck badly.

When you say you can't find much fun in the game anymore, its probably just that you're so used to the playstyle in general. IMO, this game is somewhere between a glorified map-pack and an innovative game (here's where my flame shield comes in), and while yes, they did make some changes, on the whole you really wouldn't find much of a difference in innovation between MW2 and MW3; its essentially the same content.

Don't get me wrong, MW3 is by no means a bad game, And while I don't agree with the n00bs who gave this game a score below 2 out of 10, I would have some questions for those who think this game is a perfect 10. You have a right to be disappointed if your tired of the same kind of thing, and if innovation is what drives people to buy games, I wouldn't be too surprised if those people found less than their expectations in MW3.

I fucking hope they make a playlist strictly for quickscoping. I'm fucking tired of kids camping with their goddamn assassin 50 cals and being gunned down by type 95s.

I'm surprised Sniper Rifles weren't exempted from it, but that possibly ruins the "quick" part of "quickscoping".

I haven't played it, but have you tried Team Defender, Alan? You might be able to camp a little more comfortably on that map since holding the flag involves being a bit defensive.

Also, yeah, I know I'm a goddamn troll, but I wouldn't ever give this game a 2/10. I think the lowest I would probably give this game is a 6.5, and even that might be harsh to some people, but that score can always change pending if they decide to change up the maps and guns a bit more than what they are now.

I have a soft spot for Shotguns, too, so maybe next time I ever rent the game or something I'll work for the Striker. It looked like the only shotgun worth using, since the AA12 has absolutely no range whatsoever and the clip / total ammo is way too low. Seriously, I don't mind that it carries 8 shells, but you only give me 16 fucking shells?

6.5 Is relatively fair, particularly if your going at it from an innovation standpoint...

Yeah, some larger maps would be nice too.

Quoted for Truth.

Last night, I got your girl into Last Stand. I used Deep Impact to Double Tap her Bouncing Bettys. She sucked me like she had Iron Lungs, I'm glad I had Painkiller. We went all night using Extreme Conditioning. Her Sleight of Hand got me to Sonic Boom all over her face. Luckily for her, I used Steady Aim so none of it went on her hair. We went round for round because I was packing One Man Army, and you didn't hear us because we were both using Ninja Pro.

Pretty lame. Was funny at first read a couple weeks ago, but then you realize no maps were used and the whole thing hardly retains to MW3. I don't see one with just the maps yet, so the "race" for that is still open, I guess.

If you can suffer the pain of using it enough to level it up, the AA-12 becomes one of the best fucking guns in the game with range and extended mags. Just use scavenger and specialist with sleight of hand as your two-kill perk (you can easily get 2-3 kills with 12 shells) and have the most fun you've ever had in this game.

I've never gone lower than a 1.5 KDR with it, ever.

Also worth noting is if you play with a shotgun the same way you play with any other gun you will never kill anything and die 10000000 times. Shotguns the most map knowledge and forethought of any gun, you have to constantly keep where they're spawning in mind, what the best path to their flank is, and how you can get there without exposing yourself to any sort of mid range sightlines. Always use assassin, always keep a machine pistol backup with sleight pro, always always always flank.

Got MW3 and here are my 2 cents

does anyone else agree scavenger nerf sucks balls because killstreaks/uavs are super annoying/waste of effort to kill? Launchers don't refill and become useless waste of secondary space after the first shot

-Spaz-12 is now balls with the absence of Stopping Power. Shotguns being primary also makes it hard
-Corridors everywhere = SMG warfare and not enough good sniping positions
-Also corridors makes offensive air support almost useless. Although hard to take down, only map they can get kills is that destroyed highway map
-not a wide variety of good perks. Blind Eye, Iron Lungs and Stalker Pro? Puh-lease
-Assault Killstreaks are hard to aim for due to the quick close quarter nature of these maps, therefore people use a lot of Support which means UAVS AND CUAVS EVERYWHERE
edit: pistols suck and theres no reason to use them over machine pistols
