move 1: Shadow Ball

move 3: Thunderbolt
move 4: Trick / Destiny Bond
item: Choice Specs
nature: Timid
evs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
[SET COMMENTS]

Gengar is generally a better option for this type of set, due to a superior movepool and higher Speed and Special Attack. Still, Mismagius has better defensive abilities, which makes for easier switch-ins. Trick is useful for crippling counters such as Blissey, Scizor, and Metagross. Destiny Bond and her great Speed means Mismagius can take out many slower foes stopping a potential sweep by your opponent.

[Other Options]

Spite might help a team mate set up if you can drain all the PP of an opponents main attacking move, but the above sets cover Mismagius' viable options. Energy Ball can be used on the Choice Specs set to better handle Ground types, but generally Mismagius has better option in Trick or Destiny Bond.

[Counters]

For Special attacking variants: Weavile or Tyranitar if you can get them in on a Calm Mind or Shadow Ball, Houndoom can come in on both of those and Will-O-Wisp. It has 60 base Defense, so Physical attackers with decent Special Defense are the obvious route, but watch out for Will-O-Wisp. Trick is a constant annoyance on the Choice Specs set so be weary of switching in physical attackers or walls into the Choice Specs set. There's not much you can do about that but use a Fire type or Guts Pokémon, though, so Mismagius may be doing its job after all.

For Perish Song: Hit it very hard with physical attacks, since you only get around two shots at it. Weavile will instantly kill Perish Songers, since it can switch in without fear and kill it whether it switches or not. Tyranitar can do the same. Choice Band / Choice Specs Pokémon can get the quick damage you need to take it out before it can start Protecting. At least it doesn't get Hypnosis anymore...
