Pros:
- Shell Smash access and powerful STAB + coverage.
- Full immunity to status supplemented by decent bulk in Meteor Form lets Minior use Shell Smash against most opposing mons.
- Wildly fast in Core Form, able to outspeed everything but Rain Barraskewda at +2.
- Can handle two of the common Unaware users' sets due to status immunity - EQ / Toxic Clodsire can't hit Minior, and Skeledirge may be forced to Terastallize.

Cons:
- Frail after setup, and very vulnerable to priority.
- Weak to Stealth Rock, and can't mitigate the weakness with Heavy-Duty Boots because of the need for Acrobatics.
- Stuffed by Dondozo and a weak matchup into Kingambit without Substitute.
- Proc'ing Core Form can be unreliable, and certain fast Choice Scarf users are able to revenge kill +2 Meteor Form.


Terastallization Potential:
Minior has fantastic Terastallization potential. It benefits strongly from the offensive and defensive boosts of Tera-Ground. Earthquake was a key tool Minior used in SM to sweep, and an extra 50% damage there is a welcome addition to open up more sweeping angles. Swapping for Ground typing also lets Minior set up on the Electric-types likely to be in the meta, namely Zapdos and Raging Bolt. Being able to shurk a weakness to eat a still-big hit opens up many more avenues for unlocking +2 Core Form Minior. Using Minior well is all about optimizing that 50-99% sweetspot from damage - consider Terastallizing to lose the Steel weakness against Gholdengo, still taking over half from Make It Rain with most sets while you set up your Smash. Tera-Flying is another option which gives up the ability to setup on Zapdos for the ability to tank some Water-type hits while boosting Acrobatics to the moon.

Tera Blast and Earth Power also enable a special Minior set to be used! This was something people had tried before with options like Power Gem and Hidden Power, but it always fell behind physical and mixed sets. One option available now is Power Herb Meteor Beam to open up +3 with Tera Blast and Earth Power.

Finally, a major weakness of Minior has always been priority. Even in SM when terrains were at their peak, Minior couldn't benefit at all from Psychic Terrain's protection from priority. Now, Terastallization lets Minior shed Flying type to protect itself from priority on certain team comps!

The stock-standard Minior set. Tera-Flying should give intense sweeping ability while helping against Grassy Glide, while Tera-Ground allows for some cheesier setup and a better matchup against Garganacl and Raging Bolt. Substitute is an option to play around Sucker Punch & Thunderclap and get more consistent Core Form procs at the cost of worsening the matchup against Zapdos, Rotom-W, and the steel birds. The Speed:bulk mix can be tuned based on how the metagame develops. Bulk is really nice to have in my experience with the mon, letting you eat way more hits than you'd expect. You can consider benchmarks like +1 base 85's in Meteor Form at 184 Spe EVs, but I've set the benchmark for this set at outspeeding +Spe Darkrai and Neutral Dragapult in Meteor Form, which covers up through +1 Zamazenta in Core Form. This will be a good point for discussion and customization. Magnezone could be a good partner for trapping 3 counters in Skarmory, Corviknight, and Scizor, as well as being a decent punish to bulky waters that can shut down Minior like Dondozo.

This is an even gimmickier version of what is already a gimmick offensive mon, but hey why not double down. I don't like having to rely on Meteor Beam with only 90% accuracy, but with one shot to blow up a check you could really go to town afterwards. Again, bulk and speed spread is very customizable based on what shakes out in the meta. Build your bulk to live one hit from centralizing meta threats, then exploit those common mons for free Shell Smash opportunities.

Wrap-up Thoughts:

Minior was a sleeper threat in SM OU, basically never seeing play outside of dedicated teams. On those teams that built around its strengths though, it performed wildly well. Terastallization gives Minior the opportunity to do this again to an even greater degree with a ridiculously powerful offensive combo and the ability to snag turns to set up Shell Smash and Core Form more easily. This mon won't see relevance on 99.9% of OU teams, but can be a powerful start of an anti-meta offensive core.

I've actually started using Rock Blast on some teams as last move on the Acro set just to bypass some annoying sashes I'm finding on the ladder right now. Been pretty handy

Can't believe it's been 6 years. Glad to see all the new options opened up to Minior this gen, I adored it in gen VII! Not much to add to your great writeup.

It's cool that Minior has potential special flying stab. But with Tera, it could be possible to forego flying moves entirely.

Psychic is a coverage option for Fighting types, perhaps on Tera Rock sets. Depending on how Stellar Tera works, Meteor Beam could become an astronomical nuke, and perhaps even a mixed set could function. But those are niche compared to the bread & butter Acrobatics set.

I haven’t gotten to try the special set yet, but Tera Ground was farming free wins off of the Raging Bolt spam on the ladder day 1 and caught a few wins by Tera Grounding onto Psychic Terrain on a psyspam team I stole and modified. I’ve switched to a Tera Flying + Substitute set on a bird spam team that has been feeling really nice. Tera Flying without Substitute felt pretty bad into Raging Bolt and Kingambit. While I’d say the Tera typing is decently team dependent, and I’m sure there’s scenarios where you might want a purely defensive Tera (Grass or Water I’d say) to tank priority after setting up, Tera Ground with high bulk investment feels the most generally good right now.

I think the og set slots into hyper offense pretty smoothly and feels better than it did in SM. I might cook something up to give my thoughts on the special set.

While I’d say the Tera typing is decently team dependent, and I’m sure there’s scenarios where you might want a purely defensive Tera (Grass or Water I’d say) to tank priority after setting up, Tera Ground with high bulk investment feels the most generally good right now.

I think the og set slots into hyper offense pretty smoothly and feels better than it did in SM. I’ll cook something up to give my thoughts on the special set here soon.

Pros:
- Shell Smash access and powerful STAB + coverage.
- Full immunity to status supplemented by decent bulk in Meteor Form lets Minior use Shell Smash against most opposing mons.
- Wildly fast in Core Form, able to outspeed everything but Rain Barraskewda at +2.
- Can handle two of the common Unaware users' sets due to status immunity - EQ / Toxic Clodsire can't hit Minior, and Skeledirge may be forced to Terastallize.

Cons:
- Frail after setup, and very vulnerable to priority.
- Weak to Stealth Rock, and can't mitigate the weakness with Heavy-Duty Boots because of the need for Acrobatics.
- Stuffed by Dondozo and a weak matchup into Kingambit without Substitute.
- Proc'ing Core Form can be unreliable, and certain fast Choice Scarf users are able to revenge kill +2 Meteor Form.


Terastallization Potential:
Minior has fantastic Terastallization potential. It benefits strongly from the offensive and defensive boosts of Tera-Ground. Earthquake was a key tool Minior used in SM to sweep, and an extra 50% damage there is a welcome addition to open up more sweeping angles. Swapping for Ground typing also lets Minior set up on the Electric-types likely to be in the meta, namely Zapdos and Raging Bolt. Being able to shurk a weakness to eat a still-big hit opens up many more avenues for unlocking +2 Core Form Minior. Using Minior well is all about optimizing that 50-99% sweetspot from damage - consider Terastallizing to lose the Steel weakness against Gholdengo, still taking over half from Make It Rain with most sets while you set up your Smash. Tera-Flying is another option which gives up the ability to setup on Zapdos for the ability to tank some Water-type hits while boosting Acrobatics to the moon.

Tera Blast and Earth Power also enable a special Minior set to be used! This was something people had tried before with options like Power Gem and Hidden Power, but it always fell behind physical and mixed sets. One option available now is Power Herb Meteor Beam to open up +3 with Tera Blast and Earth Power.

Finally, a major weakness of Minior has always been priority. Even in SM when terrains were at their peak, Minior couldn't benefit at all from Psychic Terrain's protection from priority. Now, Terastallization lets Minior shed Flying type to protect itself from priority on certain team comps!

The stock-standard Minior set. Tera-Flying should give intense sweeping ability while helping against Grassy Glide, while Tera-Ground allows for some cheesier setup and a better matchup against Garganacl and Raging Bolt. Substitute is an option to play around Sucker Punch & Thunderclap and get more consistent Core Form procs at the cost of worsening the matchup against Zapdos, Rotom-W, and the steel birds. The Speed:bulk mix can be tuned based on how the metagame develops. Bulk is really nice to have in my experience with the mon, letting you eat way more hits than you'd expect. You can consider benchmarks like +1 base 85's in Meteor Form at 184 Spe EVs, but I've set the benchmark for this set at outspeeding +Spe Darkrai and Neutral Dragapult in Meteor Form, which covers up through +1 Zamazenta in Core Form. This will be a good point for discussion and customization. Magnezone could be a good partner for trapping 3 counters in Skarmory, Corviknight, and Scizor, as well as being a decent punish to bulky waters that can shut down Minior like Dondozo.

This is an even gimmickier version of what is already a gimmick offensive mon, but hey why not double down. I don't like having to rely on Meteor Beam with only 90% accuracy, but with one shot to blow up a check you could really go to town afterwards. Again, bulk and speed spread is very customizable based on what shakes out in the meta. Build your bulk to live one hit from centralizing meta threats, then exploit those common mons for free Shell Smash opportunities.

Wrap-up Thoughts:

Minior was a sleeper threat in SM OU, basically never seeing play outside of dedicated teams. On those teams that built around its strengths though, it performed wildly well. Terastallization gives Minior the opportunity to do this again to an even greater degree with a ridiculously powerful offensive combo and the ability to snag turns to set up Shell Smash and Core Form more easily. This mon won't see relevance on 99.9% of OU teams, but can be a powerful start of an anti-meta offensive core.
You should probably specify if it’s immune to Status Moves or Status Conditions in the ability section
