This Pet Mod looks good, lemme in on the action!
Pokemon Name: Kingler
Mega Stone Name: Kinglite
Stats: 55 / 150 (+20) / 145 (+30) / 50 / 110 (+60) / 65 (-10)
Typing: Water
Ability: Stalwart
New Moves: Earthquake
Competitive Description: Kingler's main niche in OU is a slow, albeit powerful wallbreaker, like Mega Garchomp and Hoopa-U of days past. Losing Sheer Force is well, painful, but this is made up for by significantly improved bulk on both sides of the spectrum, allowing it to tank much more hits. NOW it can shine in AG!... oh wait, Barraskweda, Mega Swampert, Dracovish, and Mega Blastoise exist. Well, never mind then, it can do OTHER things! Its speed tier is at least enough to outspeed most, if not, all, defensive staples, and even without an Agility boost, it still manages to be threatening due to its high attack stat, which enables it to OHKO or 2HKO most offensive staples with ease, factoring in SR damage.
Now, and then, it does carry flaws in its system. While 145/110 defenses are fantastic, Kingler's mediocre base 55 HP undermines those defenses greatly, usually resulting in Kingler dying against offensive teams in 2 or 3 hits, making it an easy target against faster, stronger threats like +2 Mega Blastoise, Dracovish, and Kartana. Stalwart is nice, yes, but doesn't really help when you factor in that most of the top threats have abilities that can't be bypassed via Stalwart, which can make things hard for poor
Yorick Kingler when it needs that extra power. Moreover, its speed, while great for outspeeding stuff like Galarian Corsola and Chansey, leaves it outsped by almost all of the current NatDex OU metagame staples, like Dragapult, Mega Blastoise, and Kartana.
Pokemon Name: Drednaw
Mega Stone Name: Drednawite
Stats: 90 / 145 (+30) / 120 (+30) / 48 / 98 (+30) / 84 (+10)
Typing: Water / Rock
Ability: Adaptability
New Moves: Shell Smash
Competitive Description: Remember Mega Blastoise of days past? Well, time to focus on his potential big (or little) brother: Drednaw-Gmax! Perfect! Or maybe not - Drednaw doesn't exactly have the stupid good power of Mega Blastoise due to Mega Launcher.
But who needs Mega Launcher when you have a secondary Water/Steel typing and better speed? In all honesty, Drednaw is a capable setup sweeper via Shell Smash, and still manages to be threatening in other ways, be it with venting its raw power out on the opponent without boosting with Shell Smash, or maybe a more supportive role with Stealth Rock. While not the fastest, its solid 120/98 defenses allow it to tank quite a few hits if it needs to. Combine this with Adaptability, and at +2 attack, know that Drednaw WILL punch a big hole in your team.
As powerful as this seems, Drednaw is clearly far from perfect. Its typing, despite being good offensively, is absolutely horrible defensively, and this is especially true in a metagame where stuff like Lando-T and Kartana run rampant, which undermines its solid bulk. Drednaw-Gmax is also fairly slow before a boost, which means that if it does get outsped, it may end up in range of a priority attack from stuff like Mega Metagross or Ash Greninja, or it may not even be able to boost up before it's overwhelmed. Lastly, while Shell Smash does boost its speed, it also lowers its defenses, making it vulnerable to priority, as well as strong threats like Kyurem-Black.
