Mega Ampharos is a devastating anti-meta wallbreaker that takes advantage of its unique typing to dismantle well-known and popular cores in RU such as Mandibuzz + Milotic and Mega Steelix + Rotom-C. Its STAB-boosted Dragon Pulse 2HKOes all Electric-resistant Pokemon in the tier as long as you predict correctly, and its access to a slow Volt Switch means it can always pivot out of Pokemon that can check it like Cresselia and give a free switch to a teammate. Focus Blast rounds off the set by hitting the likes of Rhyperior, Porygon2, and Registeel. While it faces strong competition from other Mega Evolutions such as Blastoise and Steelix, it makes up for this with its excellent typing and its better matchup versus most walls in the tier. However, its low Speed, coupled with several weaknesses to prominent attacking types like Ground, Ice, and Fairy, can make it a hindrance against faster-paced teams. Despite these flaws, it's an outstanding wallbreaker and pivot that offensive teams should consider.
