STAB Living Approximately as Long as my Neck. (Bulky Calm Mind Raging Bolt) [QC 1/2]

[SET]
Bulky Setup Sweeper (Raging Bolt) @ Leftovers / Covert Cloak
Ability: Protosynthesis
Tera Type: Grass / Dragon
EVs: 148 Def / 216 SpA / 144 Spe OR 56 HP / 112 Def / 196 SpA / 144 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 20 Atk
- Parabolic Charge
- Spacial Rend / Fickle Beam
- Thunderclap / Substitute
- Calm Mind

[SET COMMENTS]
By making use of its great bulk, solid defensive type, and Parabolic Charge, Raging Bolt is able to become a dangerous setup sweeper. Parabolic Charge provides consistent recovery, affording it even more setup opprotunities. Fickle Beam offers higher maximum power such as 2HKOing Specially Defensive Ting-Lu, and Tyranitar at +1, while Spacial Rend is a more consistent option. Thunderclap allows Raging Bolt to circumvent its shallow speed to protect itself from powerful revenge killers such as Iron Valiant, Darkrai, Sneasler, and Urshifu Rapid Strike. Substitute may be considered as well, as it allows Raging Bolt to avoid status and absorb hits to further set up Calm Mind. Leftovers lets Raging Bolt further bolster its longevity and improve its ability to trade hits with most of the metagame, Covert Cloak is an option as well, and is overall preferred with Tera Dragon to shut down Mortal Spin from Pokemon such as Clodsire, Galarian Slowking, Amoonguss, and Tera Toxapex, preventing them from cutting into its staying power, and giving Clodsire far more trouble in attempting to keep it in check. Tera Grass turns Ting-Lu into setup fodder and maintains its strong matchup against Tyranitar, while Tera Dragon still sheds its Ground-type weakness while super charging its Dragont STAB moves. The primary EV spread outspeeds Adamant Tyranitar and avoids the OHKO from defensive Landorus Therian's Precipice Blades, while the secondary spread provides 101 HP Substitutes to set up safely on Chansey and Blissey. Calm Mind Raging Bolt very often finds itself on Bulky Offense teams that appreciate its ability to wear down the opposition with repeated attacks, Fighting Types like offensive variants of Great Tusk, Iron Valiant, and Urshifu Rapid Strike pair particularly well for appreciating Raging Bolt's ability to threaten and switch in on the many Water types they find themselves checked by, while in return, they are able to heavily threaten Pokemon that can otherwise attempt to check Raging Bolt such as Clodsire, Ting-Lu, and Tyranitar. Other powerful special wallbreakers like Latios, Darkrai, Gengar, Meloetta, and Thundurus Therian also deserve special mentions for being able to force in and either get huge damage off on, or outright KO a lot of Raging Bolt's main checks, allowing Raging Bolt to more easily win the game.

Substitute + Calm Mind Bulky Setup (Raging Bolt) @ Leftovers / Covert Cloak
Ability: Protosynthesis
Tera Type: Grass / Dragon (Dragon tera is the more offensive option removing the obvious Ground weakness and further bolstering one of it's stabs, Tera Electric could be considered but Tera Dragon is just the more well-rounded choice especially considering Grass doesn't eliminate the potential perdiction by a savvy Lando-t player and pressing Dragon Ascent or simply pivoting out with u-turn as tera grass would result in it be Super effective)
EVs: 56 HP / 112 Def / 128 SpA / 220 Spe (either list two EV spreads or consider dropping the high Speed investment, 241 is not an important bench mark when you are sacrificing so much important bulk, 140 speed evs lets it hit 221 speed with the rest going into either spa or hp for added bulk / punch)
Modest Nature
IVs: 20 Atk
- Parabolic Charge
- Spacial Rend / Fickle Beam
- Calm Mind
- Thunderclap / Substitute (Not listing Thunderclap is just not right as it lets Raging Bolt to overcome it's speed issues entirely, as mentioned later sub is just a nice option on a bulk setup Raging Bolt, not necessarily the crux of the set)

[SET COMMENTS]
By making use of its great bulk, solid defensive typing, and great offensive profile Raging Bolt is able to become a very annoying presence prominent threat to teams. throughout a game that many balance teams will struggle to remove, setting substitute up on Pokemon that are unable to threaten it back and fighting would be checks head on with its incredible longevity. Parabolic Charge is the crux of what makes this set so effective, being able to keep Raging Bolt alive and at high health to keep creating substitutes or trading hits with Pokemon that could otherwise attempt to wear it down, Spacial Rend or Fickle Beam are options chosen to heavily dent, or even KO Pokemon that are immune to Parabolic Charge such as Ting-Lu, Landorus Therian, Thundurus Therian, and Great Tusk., however, Fickle Beam may be considered to fish for an extremely powerful hit into Ting-Lu or Clodsire, as Raging Bolt is capable of generating many opportunities for itself to go for it. Calm Mind allows Raging Bolt to continuously become an even bigger threat as the game goes on if left unchecked, and Substitute allows Raging Bolt to avoid status and absorb hits to further set up Calm Mind. Tera Grass is the Tera Type of choice for allowing Raging Bolt to flip the matchup VS Ting-Lu on its head, turning an otherwise hard stop into complete setup fodder, while also not dooming itself VS Tyranitar like Tera Flying or Bug would, this also comes with the added benefit of a Dragon neutrality, making Clanging Scales far less effective at keeping Raging Bolt in check early on before it sets up out of control.(Reword to include Tera Dragon for added power and great mono-typing) The given EV spread allows Raging Bolt to outspeed everything up to base 60s, live an uninvested Landorus Therian Precipice Blades from full health, create 101 HP Substitutes to prevent them from being broken by Seismic Toss or Night Shade, and dumps the rest in Special Attack to allow Raging Bolt to hit as hard as possible. Substitute Calm Mind Raging Bolt very often finds itself on Bulky Offense teams that appreciate its ability to wear down the opposition with repeated attacks, Fighting Types like offensive variants of Great Tusk, Iron Valiant, and Urshifu Rapid Strike pair particularly well for appreciating Raging Bolt's ability to threaten and switch in on Water types, while in return, Great Tusk is able to switch in on Pokemon that can otherwise attempt to check Raging Bolt such as Clodsire, Ting-Lu, and Tyranitar. Other Special attackers like Latios, Meloetta, and Thundurus Therian also deserve special mentions for being able to force in and either get huge damage off on, or outright KO a lot of Raging Bolt's main checks, allowing Raging Bolt to more easily win the game. (Add mention and discussion of thunderclap)

(Condensed 2 almost identical sets into one article, Sub shouldn't require an entire analysis when but rather just a slash as an option seeing as in general Thunderclap is just as viable if not more so on such a slow mon. Similarly, I'd say rewrite the article to make Sub and Thunderclap two potential options on a Bulky Setup Raging Bolt.

By making use of its great bulk, solid defensive type, Parabolic Charge, and Substitute, don't mention a slashed move in the into Raging Bolt is able to become a prominent threat to teams a dangerous setup sweeper. Parabolic Charge is the crux of what makes this set so effective, being able to keep Raging Bolt alive and at high health to keep creating substitutes and trade hits with Pokemon that could otherwise attempt to wear it down, Special Rend or Fickle Beam are chosen to heavily dent, or even KO Pokemon that are immune to Parabolic Charge such as Ting-Lu, Landorus Therian, Thundurus Therian, and Great Tusk. Fickle Beam offers higher maximum power such as [give an example here], while Spacial Rend is a more consistent option. Thunderclap allows Raging Bolt to circumvent its shallow speed to beat otherwise revenge killers to the punch, preventing it from taking unnecessary damage that may make it easier to take down. Substitute may be considered as well, as it allows Raging Bolt to avoid status and absorb hits to further set up Calm Mind. give more specific examples here; what does Thunderclap beat? What does Subsitute beat? Leftovers lets Raging Bolt further bolster its longevity and improve its ability to trade hits with most of the metagame, Covert Cloak is an option as well to shut down Mortal Spin from Pokemon such as Clodsire, Galarian Slowking, Amoongus, and Tera Toxapex, preventing them from cutting into its staying power. should leftovers be used with sub and covert with thunderclap? seems that way to me, but mention it if so Tera Grass is the Tera Type of choice for allowing Raging Bolt to flip the matchup VS Ting-Lu on its head, turning an otherwise hard stop into complete setup fodder, while also not dooming itself VS Tyranitar like Tera Flying or Bug would, this also comes with the added benefit of a Dragon neutrality, making Clanging Scales far less effective at keeping Raging Bolt in check early on before it sets up out of control. Another option is Tera Dragon, which is a solid overall neutral type that lets Raging Bolt still circumvent Ting-Lu somewhat while being able to give its Dragon moves an Extra Punch into Ground types that may not mind Parabolic Charge or Thunderclap. Tera Grass turns Ting-Lu into setup fodder and maintains its strong matchup against Tyranitar, while Tera Dragon still sheds its Ground-type weakness while super charging its Dragont STAB moves. The given EV spread allows Raging Bolt to outspeed everything up to Adamant Tyranitar, and live an uninvested Landorus Therian Precipice Blades from full health, if Substitute is chosen, it is recommended to run a spread that allows Raging Bolt to create 101 HP Substitutes to prevent them from being broken by Seismic Toss or Night Shade, both spreads dump the rest in Special Attack to allow Raging Bolt to hit as hard as possible. The primary EV spread outspeeds Adamant Tyranitar and avoids the OHKO from defensive Landorus-T's Precipice Blades, while the secondary spread provides 101 HP Substitues to set up safely on Chansy. Calm Mind Raging Bolt very often finds itself on Bulky Offense teams that appreciate its ability to wear down the opposition with repeated attacks, Fighting Types like offensive variants of Great Tusk, Iron Valiant, and Urshifu Rapid Strike pair particularly well for appreciating Raging Bolt's ability to threaten and switch in on Water types, while in return, Great Tusk is able to switch in on Pokemon that can otherwise attempt to check Raging Bolt such as Clodsire, Ting-Lu, and Tyranitar.
