Linoone is a fearsome sweeper with Belly Drum alongside STAB Extreme Speed, but it is held back by its difficulty setting up and the prevalence of Cobalion. Stomping Tantrum allows Linoone to heavily damage Steel-types like Registeel, Steelix, and Stakataka, but Cobalion will outspeed and KO Linoone before it can use it. Seed Bomb hits bulky Water-type Pokemon like Seismitoad, Milotic, and Suicune for better damage than Extreme Speed, and it also OHKOes Rhyperior. Alternatively, Throat Chop hits Pokemon like Dhelmise, Cresselia, and Reuniclus while potentially letting Linoone set up on Sylveon and Toxitricity. Play Rough is another option that gives Linoone a better matchup against Bewear and Umbreon. Linoone should customize its moveset with these moves based on its team's needs. Linoone runs maximum Speed to outpace Substitute + Calm Mind Suicune and KO it with Seed Bomb.

Linoone's all-or-nothing nature and lack of defensive utility make it work best on hyper offense teams. Cobalion is Linoone's most widely used and consistent answer, easily surviving a +6 Extreme Speed and OHKOing back with Close Combat, so Linoone should be paired with Cobalion checks like Crobat, Chandelure, and Golisopod. Linoone can set up much more easily with dual screens or Aurora Veil support from Pokemon like Xatu, Klefki, and Vanilluxe. Vanilluxe also provides hail support for Arctozolt, and Arctozolt does a great job at wearing out common Linoone checks like Steelix and Cobalion. Cloyster is another good partner that wears down Cobalion, and it can potentially lure and heavily damage it with Hydro Pump. Steelix and Cobalion are also worn down by Spikes support from Klefki and Golisopod. Finally, Linoone appreciates Memento support from teammates like Gardevoir and Chandelure.

May also be worth noting Cloyster as a teammate since Cobalion is also one of the more conssitent answers offensive teams have for it as well. Basically use Cloyster or Linoone to weaken Cobalion (and other Steels / Waters) for the other to sweep. Otherwise, looks good.

Seed Bomb hits bulky Water-type Pokemon like Seismitoad, Milotic, and Suicune for better damage than Extreme Speed, and also OHKOes Rhyperior. Alternatively, Throat Chop hits certain rarer Pokemon like Dhelmise and Bronzong (bad) chop's got plenty of targets, pick a few from cress, better doub rolls, reuni, shuca glowbro, chandy, etc while potentially letting Linoone set up on Sylveon and Toxitricity. A Jolly nature can be used instead of Adamant to improve Linoone's matchup against Mimikyu and Choice Specs Indeedee, which outspeed it and cannot be damaged by Extreme Speed. jolly linoone is literally unviable
- need to explain why 252 speed (it isnt immediately obvious considering linoone almost always ran bulk previously)
- play rough, better bewear and umby rolls, cuz if they survive they just kill you
- thief owns doublade + can get u cool stuff sometimes but weaker than chop
also mention that u can pretty much mix and match with whatever coverage ur team needs the most

Linoone's all-or-nothing nature and lack of defensive utility makes it work best on hyper offense teams. Cobalion is Linoone's most splashable and consistent answer, easily surviving a +6 Extreme Speed and OHKOing back with Close Combat, so Linoone should be paired with Cobalion checks like Crobat, Chandelure, and Golisopod. Stomping Tantrum allows Linoone to heavily damage Steel-types like Registeel, Steelix, and Stakataka, (AC) but Cobalion will outspeed and KO Linoone before it can use it. (subjective, but my first thought when reading this was "huh?" until I remembered cobalion has speed, so who cares that it dies to Tantrum) Seed Bomb hits bulky Water-type Pokemon like Seismitoad, Milotic, and Suicune for better damage than Extreme Speed, and it also OHKOes Rhyperior. Alternatively, Throat Chop hits Pokemon like Dhelmise, Cresselia, and Reuniclus while potentially letting Linoone set up on Sylveon and Toxitricity.
