[SET COMMENTS]
The combination of Gastly's amazing Ghost / Poison typing and Levitate, strong offensive stats, an 18 Speed tier, and a diverse movepool make it one of the most threatening wallbreakers in the entire metagame. Gastly's sheer versatility is reflected by its ability to pick coverage to beat what it wants to beat, with Life Orb generally giving it that extra push to rack up KOs. Thunderbolt and Dazzling Gleam hit Vullaby, and the latter also punishes Mienfoo. Psychic hits Mienfoo and Poison-types such as Foongus and Glimmet in one moveslot. Substitute is another option to provide Gastly with a way to force Sucker Punch mind games and ease prediction against switch-ins. Tera Stellar allows Gastly to OHKO Vullaby with Thunderbolt from full HP. Alternatively, Tera Poison or Ghost can be run instead; the former boosts Sludge Wave KOes fast pivot Mienfoo at full health, which Sludge Bomb cannot do.

Gastly's lack of defenses and weakness to common moves like Knock Off means it generally wants to avoid switching into most moves to ensure its ability to sweep reliably. Vullaby is a good partner to Gastly, giving it pivot support while providing a Dark resistance to switch into checks like Stunky and Pawniard. Fast Choice Scarf users such as opposing Gastly and naturally faster Pokemon like Hisuian Voltorb and Alolan Diglett also do consistently well in keeping it from going out of control. Therefore, a partner like Stunky that can threaten faster Pokemon with strong priority or a bulky pivot such as Mienfoo to play around faster threats is appreciated. Lastly, if all else fails, defensive Terastallization on Pokemon like Mienfoo and Snubbull can flip the matchup on its head. Hisuian Growlithe makes for a good partner, as it can break or soften checks using defensive Terastalization.

After spending majority of the generation banned, Gastly returns with a vengeance to haunt Little Cup once more! The combination of its amazing Ghost/Poison typing and Levitate, strong offensive stats, a 19 speed tier and a diverse movepool make it one of the most threatening wallbreakers in the entire metagame. Gastly's sheer versatility is reflected in its set, which generally mixes its STAB moves and picks coverage to beat what it wants to beat, with Life Orb generally giving it that extra push to rack up KOs. The coverage options tend to fluctuate between Thunderbolt, Dazzling Gleam and Psychic — a combination of which tends to beat multiple checks. Thunderbolt and Dazzling Gleam hit Vullaby for example, while also punishing Mienfoo with the latter. Psychic offers more reliable damage against Poison types like Glimmet, Mareanie, Foongus and Koffing that'll take a neutral or resisted hit from the other moves while also keeping its ability to force progress versus Mienfoo. Substitute is another option to provide it with some longevity and chances to spam moves, as you can often get it up on forced switches. Terastallization continues to offer Gastly more ways to break opposing teams with Poison or Ghost usually to boost its STAB while eliminating a weakness to moves like Knock Off. The new addition of Stellar adds a one-time boost to all its moves, which is situationally more valuable as a way to hit multiple opposing Pokémon for more damage, albeit less consistently than with its same-type options. (mention stellar first)

Gastly is a splashable option on most teams, pairing well with partner wallbreakers like Snivy and Hisuian Growlithe to brute force opposing teams. Mienfoo is also another common partner for it, with its ability to pivot and beat more solid counters such as Pawniard. Dealing with Gastly is often difficult, but not impossible. Pawniard as mentioned before, reliably beats this set one-on-one. Other Dark-types such as Stunky and Vullaby (vull isnt really a check since you die after rocks, i like hisuian zorua as a mention since it resists dual stabs) are also reliable checks, although the latter must be wary of coverage options. Defensive Poison types can also often handle a hit or two and deal significant damage back as Gastly is frail and on a timer with its item. Fast scarfers (including opposing Gastly) such as opposing Gastly also do consistently well in handling it from keeping it going out of control every game. Lastly, if all else fails, defensive Terastallization on bulkier Pokémon like Mienfoo or Pokémon that would otherwise lose to it like Snubbull can flip the matchup on its head. Steel Terastallization on both allow it to take a potential Sludge Bomb and KO back with Knock Off or Psychic Fangs respectively. Gastly must also be wary of switching in on Thunder Wave from Snubbull, as Paralysis renders its breaking abilities ineffective.

Players must be wary of it and scout for Terastallization and coverage nonetheless, as Gastly continues to remain a top-tier threat that must be played with caution in the current iteration of the Little Cup metagame.

  • You need another space for the slash in the first move’s options

Set Comments, Paragraph 1
  • ”After spending the majority of the generation…”
  • Gastly only hits 18 Speed
  • Terastallizing to Ghost (as in the last sentence) does not remove Gastly’s Knock Off weakness. Gastly’s Tera is basically always offensively minded anyways, so the part about removing weaknesses can just be cut.

Set Comments, Paragraph 2
  • It could be wise to cut out the Snivy mention based on the results of the current suspect test, but if Snivy stays it’s of course a fine line to keep in.
  • I’d like some more pivots mentioned, especially Vullaby, as Gastly very rarely wants to switch into any attack from pretty much anything.
  • Same goes for the end of the paragraph, Gastly shouldn’t be wary of switching into Snubbull’s Thunder Wave, it should be wary of switching into almost anything almost always.

Pretty good work, tag me when you’ve implemented these and I’ll give QC 2/2

[SET COMMENTS]
After spending the majority of the generation banned, Gastly returns with a vengeance to haunt Little Cup once more! The combination of its amazing Ghost (AS) / (AS) Poison typing and Levitate, strong offensive stats, a an 18 speed Speed tier, (AC) and a diverse movepool make it one of the most threatening wallbreakers in the entire metagame. Gastly's sheer versatility is reflected in its this set, which generally mixes its STAB moves and picks coverage to beat what it wants to beat, with Life Orb generally giving it that extra push to rack up KOs. The coverage options tend to fluctuate between Thunderbolt, Dazzling Gleam and Psychic — a combination of which tends to beat multiple checks. Thunderbolt and Dazzling Gleam hit Vullaby, (AC) for example, while also punishing Mienfoo with the latter. Psychic offers more reliable damage against Poison-types (AH) like Glimmet, Mareanie, Foongus, (AC) and Koffing that'll take a neutral or resisted hit from the other moves while also keeping its ability to force progress versus against Mienfoo. Substitute is another option to provide it with some longevity and chances to spam moves, as you can often get it up on forced switches. Terastallization continues to offer Gastly more ways to break opposing teams. The new addition of the Stellar-type Tera Stellar adds a one-time boost to all its moves as a whole to hit multiple opposing Pokémon Pokemon (no accent in analyses) for more damage, albeit less consistently than with its same-type options. Alternatively, Tera Poison or Ghost to boost its STAB are strong choices as well, with the former boosting Sludge Wave to get certain kills on bulkier Pokémon Pokemon such as Mienfoo more reliably.

Gastly is a splashable strong (can rephrase this as you want/as is accurate, but splashable is specifically banned wording) option on most teams, pairing well with partner wallbreakers like Hisuian Growlithe to brute force opposing teams. Mienfoo is also another common partner for it (RC) with its ability to pivot and beat more solid counters such as Pawniard. Vullaby also pairs well as a pivot-capable (AH) partner that can cover for Gastly defensively as well. (not sure what paragraph standards are for LC set analyses, but you probably want to break here instead of below if you're doing 3- keeps topics consistent within paragraphs) Dealing with Gastly is often difficult, but not impossible. Pawniard, as mentioned before, reliably beats this set one-on-one. Other Dark-types such as Stunky and Hisuian Zorua are good checks, the latter being immune and resistant to Gastly's STAB moves. Defensive Poison-types (AH) can also often handle a hit or two and deal significant damage back, (AC) as Gastly is frail and on a timer with its item. Gastly's lack of defenses and weakness to common moves like Knock Off mean it generally wants to avoid switching into most moves to ensure its ability to sweep reliably.

Fast scarfers Choice Scarf users such as opposing Gastly also do consistently well in handling it from keeping it from going out of control every game. Lastly, if all else fails, defensive Terastallization on bulkier Pokémon Pokemon like Mienfoo or Pokémon Pokemon that would otherwise lose to it like Snubbull can flip the matchup on its head. Steel Terastallization Tera Steel on both Pokémon allow Pokemon allows them to take a potential Sludge Bomb and KO back with Knock Off or Psychic Fangs, (AC) respectively. Gastly must also be wary of switching in on Thunder Wave from Snubbull, as Paralysis paralysis renders its breaking wallbreaking abilities ineffective.

After spending the majority of the generation banned, Gastly returns with a vengeance to haunt Little Cup once more! (fluff phrase, this is more along the lines of what a spotlight would open with, not an analysis) The combination of its Gastly's amazing Ghost (AS) / (AS) Poison typing and Levitate, strong offensive stats, a an 18 speed Speed tier, (AC) and a diverse movepool make it one of the most threatening wallbreakers in the entire metagame. Gastly's sheer versatility is reflected in its this set, which generally mixes its STAB moves (what does this mean would rephrase or just remove because the main focus is coverage) and picks coverage to beat what it wants to beat, with Life Orb generally giving it that extra push to rack up KOs. The coverage options tend to fluctuate between Thunderbolt, Dazzling Gleam and Psychic—a combination of which tends to beat multiple checks. Thunderbolt and Dazzling Gleam hit Vullaby for example, and the latter punishes Mienfoo while also punishing Mienfoo with the latter. (examples are assumed to be just examples and not the only thing a move hits, so 'for example' is redundant. 'while also' doesn't really work here when only one of the moves also hits foo, not both) Psychic offers more reliable damage against Poison-types (AH) like Glimmet, Mareanie, Foongus, (AC) and Koffing that'll take a neutral or resisted hit from the Gastly's other moves while also keeping its ability to force progress versus against Mienfoo. Substitute is another option to provide it Gastly with some longevity and chances to spam moves, as you can often get it up it can often set up Substitute on forced switches. Terastallization continues to offer Gastly more ways to break opposing teams.(also fluff - we know what tera does, so just saying what gastly's teras do is fine) The new addition of the Stellar-type Tera Stellar adds a one-time boost to all its moves as a whole (redundant with 'all its moves') to hit multiple opposing Pokémon Pokemon (no accent in analyses) for more damage, albeit less consistently than with its same-type options. (this entire sentence is dex info - you don't need to explain what types do (or what moves/abilities etc do or what the type chart is because that can be found on the dex or on google). i don't want to cut this entire point because it's relevant, so adding some examples of how / when tera stellar is useful would help). Alternatively, Tera Poison or Ghost to boost its STAB moves are strong choices as well, with the former boosting Sludge Wave to get certain kills KOs on bulkier Pokémon Pokemon such as Mienfoo more reliably.

sludge bomb and sludge wave are both slashed on the set, but the paragraph hasn't mentioned one over the other. there's no need to explain unslashed stab moved, but when they're slashed, it's helpful to tell a reader which to choose

Gastly is a splashable strong (can rephrase this as you want/as is accurate, but splashable is specifically banned wording) option on most teams, pairing well with partner wallbreakers like Hisuian Growlithe to brute force break through opposing teams. Mienfoo is also another common partner for it (RC) with its ability to pivot and beat Gastly's more solid counters such as Pawniard. Vullaby also pairs well as a pivot-capable (AH) partner that can cover for Gastly defensively as well.

Dealing with Gastly is often difficult, but not impossible. (fluff) Pawniard, as mentioned before, reliably beats this set one-on-one. Other Dark-types such as Stunky and Hisuian Zorua are good checks, the latter being immune and resistant to Gastly's STAB moves. Steel Terastallization Tera Steel on both Pokémon allow Pokemon allows them to take a potential Sludge Bomb and KO back with Knock Off or Psychic Fangs, (AC) respectively. (this has nothing to do w using gastly itself) Gastly must also be wary of switching in on Thunder Wave from Snubbull, as Paralysis paralysis renders its breaking wallbreaking abilities ineffective.

you have a whole section here about what gastly struggles with but no mention of parthers that can mitigate it. what can you put on a team with it to beat these? if it's mostly teammates mentioned in the first point. then rephrasing a but so it's structured as (gastly struggles with xyz, so teammates like abc can help it' is better so a reader can connect its counter with stuff to build with to help there. a whole section of 'what beats gastly' isn't really relevant in an analysis unless it talks about how to address these issues

The combination of Gastly's amazing Ghost / Poison typing and Levitate, strong offensive stats, an 18 Speed tier, and a diverse movepool make it one of the most threatening wallbreakers in the entire metagame. Gastly's sheer versatility is reflected in this set, picking coverage to beat what it wants to beat, with Life Orb generally giving it that extra push to rack up KOs. The coverage options tend to fluctuate between Thunderbolt, Dazzling Gleam and Psychic— a combination of which tends to beat multiple checks. (fluff) Thunderbolt and Dazzling Gleam hit Vullaby , and the latter punishes Mienfoo. (AP) Psychic offers more reliable damage against Poison-types like Glimmet, Mareanie, Foongus, and Koffing that'll take a neutral or resisted hit from Gastly's other moves while also keeping its ability to force progress against Mienfoo. Psychic hits Mienfoo and Poison-types such as Foongus and Glimmet in one move slot. Substitute is another option to provide Gastly (removed double space; there are a few in this write-up) with some longevity and chances to spam moves, as it can often set up Substitute on forced switches. (Again, this is very fluffy; something concise about Sub easing prediction and dodging Sucker Punches works here) Tera Stellar adds a one-time boost to all its moves to hit multiple opposing Pokemon for more damage, albeit less consistently than with its same-type options. (Be specific about relevant rolls, e.g Thunderbolt OHKOing Vulla, etc) Alternatively, Tera Poison or Ghost to boost its STAB moves are strong choices as well, with the former boosting Sludge Wave to get certain KOs on bulkier Pokemon such as Mienfoo more reliably that Sludge Bomb cannot do. (Specifically Tera Sludge Wave always OHKOs fastfoo)

Pawniard, as mentioned before, reliably beats this set one-on-one. Other Dark-types such as Stunky and Hisuian Zorua (not a Dark-type) are good checks, the latter being immune and resistant to Gastly's STAB moves. (combine these 2 sentences into 1 that's just about Dark-types, being sure to explain why, and add a sentence about partners that beat those foes. Be concise about it!!) Defensive Poison-types (such as?) can also often handle a hit or two and deal significant damage back, as Gastly is frail and on a timer with its item. (I don't like this example; they all get 2HKOed by Psychic and the most common defensive Poison gets walled by Gastly. I think a sentence on bulky Ground-types would be better instead.) Gastly's lack of defenses and weakness to common moves like Knock Off mean it generally wants to avoid switching into most moves to ensure its ability to sweep reliably. (Pivots make good teammates as a result.) Fast Choice Scarf users such as opposing Gastly also do consistently well in keeping it from going out of control every game. (I'd expand this generally into faster pokemon, including stuff like htorb along with scarfers.) Lastly, if all else fails, defensive Terastallization on bulkier Pokemon like Mienfoo or Pokemon that would otherwise lose to it like Snubbull can flip the matchup on its head. Tera Steel on both Pokemon allows them to take a potential Sludge Bomb and KO back with Knock Off or Psychic Fangs, respectively. Gastly must also be wary of switching in on Thunder Wave from Snubbull, as paralysis renders its wallbreaking abilities ineffective. (All this is fluff) Gastly still remains a strong option on most teams, pairing well with partner wallbreakers like Hisuian Growlithe to break through opposing teams. Mienfoo is also another common partner for it with its ability to pivot and beat Gastly's counters such as Pawniard. Vullaby also pairs well as a pivot-capable partner that can cover for Gastly defensively as well. (You can distribute the Mienfoo/Vullaby examples throughout the paragraph.

The combination of Gastly's amazing Ghost / Poison typing and Levitate, strong offensive stats, an 18 Speed tier, and a diverse movepool make it one of the most threatening wallbreakers in the entire metagame. Gastly's sheer versatility is reflected in this set, picking by its ability to pick coverage to beat what it wants to beat, with Life Orb generally giving it that extra push to rack up KOs. Thunderbolt and Dazzling Gleam hit Vullaby, (AC) and the latter also punishes Mienfoo. Psychic hits Mienfoo and Poison-types such as Foongus and Glimmet in one move slot moveslot. Substitute is another option to provide Gastly with a way to force Sucker Punch predicts mind games and ease prediction against switch-ins. Tera Stellar adds a one-time boost to all its moves to hit multiple opposing Pokemon for more damage such as OHKOing allows Gastly to OHKO (this was still dex info) Vullaby with Thunderbolt from full HP. Alternatively, Tera Poison or Ghost can be run instead; the former boosts to boost its STAB moves are strong choices as well, with the former boosting Sludge Wave to get certain KOs such as KOes fast pivot Mienfoo at full health, which Sludge Bomb cannot do. (saying 'get kos such as' implies multiple similar calcs, but this seems like a hyper specific one so 'such as' doesn't fit)

Gastly's lack of defenses and weakness to common moves like Knock Off means it generally wants to avoid switching into most moves to ensure its ability to sweep reliably. Vullaby is a good partner to Gastly, giving it pivot support while serving as a Dark-type resist providing a Dark resistance to switch into checls like Stunky and Pawniard. Fast Choice Scarf users such as opposing Gastly (RC) or and naturally faster Pokemon like Voltorb-Hisui and Diglett-Alola Hisuian Voltorb and Alolan Diglett also do consistently well in keeping it from going out of control every game, ensuring the need for a control. Therefore, a partner like Stunky that can threaten faster Pokemon with strong priority (RC) or a bulky pivot such as Mienfoo to play around faster threats is appreciated. Lastly, if all else fails, defensive Terastallization on Pokemon like Mienfoo or and Snubbull can flip the matchup on its head. Growlithe-Hisui Hisuian Growlithe makes for a good partner, (AC) as it can break or soften checks using defensive Terastalization.
