"The Treasure Eatery in Medali may be the location of a Gym, but it's first and foremost a restaurant, and a pretty famous one at that. With so many plates full of wonders going in front of you, it would be a crime to start your battle with an empty belly. You may find yourself stuffed to the brim afterwards, though it's said to be good for vitality."
  • Each Pokemon species has 100 maximum HP, instead of their usual amount.
  • Camouflage's type is Normal.
  • Secret Power's effect causes the user to consume each Berry the defender is holding, if any.
  • Nature Power calls Order Up.

Claire Liastacia is a bard heron laguz- people with the ability to turn into majestic birds whose songs restore energy to their allies and harm their enemies. Claire's voice in particular, through extensive training, can sing quickly and powerfully even in human form and shift into a heron at a rapid rate, but her voice can only focus on one target. However, this comes at a notable cost- this character has 0 defense. Like, the only thing preventing negative defense was a ruling that it can't go lower than 0, otherwise she would have started the campaign at -3 defense. Even with this floor, she quickly developed a severe axe allergy in the dark forest where she was ambushed. And also enters shock whenever entering an archer or crossbowman's range.

Man, was it a weird day when Yew joined the team. Magnolia was looking into the horizon, calm and ready, then we all saw a silhouette against the morning sun. It was Yew, tired but revitalized as soon as he saw the Gardevoir that was ready to welcome him. He then pledged his loyalty to Magnolia and me, without hesitation, and then fell right at our feet, unconscious. Talk about a memorable first contact.
After nursing it back to health, we came to realize Yew was a rather subdued fellow, which is uncommon for a Gallade, but otherwise rather pleasant to have around. He becomes ardent in battle, though, and won't hesitate to crush you if you represent the slightest menace. And then apologize profusely aftewards.

See, that's one of the new souls I came across when exploring Galar. A Beldum is rare enough, but a shiny one is just icing on the cake. However, that was only part of the appeal. You see, when we came face to face around an alley (what was she doing here in the first place?), she just... stood there. Not really afraid, just curious. And analytic. Actually, being analytic is one of the core aspects of both her personality and battle style. Her immense brain power allows her to accurately calculate the possibilities of a battle at a given time, thus projecting a bit into the future. However, she still has trouble to account for an opponent's odd behavior, leading to miscalculations.
She also doesn't speak that often. Usually, it's only a few words to give her opinion on the situation at hand. It seems like she's actually afraid to open up to people and mingle with the team. Oh, well. Hopefully that'll get better with time!

Marianne's character development was truly amazing. Starting as an Oddish, she had a shy disposition and did not exactly do well as a team member. The Gloom phase was even worse, as she constantly depreciated herself, believing she was of no use whatsoever to the group. She later admitted she considered leaving altogether a few times. She was usually spotted looking forlornly at the moon by the more night-based members.
But most of that changed with the evolution into Bellossom. A much more cheerful Marianne emerged, and even if she still wasn't a social butterfly, she wasn't running away from all conversations. She even took up dancing and used it to cheer her team on, which usually works because she's very cute doing so! Unfortunately her battle prowess isn't that great, but she makes for a great utility partner.

It was a surprise to spot a Nihilego wandering around, for sure, but a welcome one. Apparently Subject N followed us through our dimensional shift somehow, and tracked our signature back to us...? The explanation I was given was full of complex 5D stuff like that, and I'll be honest: half of this escapes my mind.
Anyway, Subject N is now even more hyper in this new and unfamiliar environment: she just wants to poke at everything, explore everywhere, swallow everything... yeah, we can't have that last one, especially when "everything" includes people.
She's otherwise still as difficult to understand as before. Of course, her movements usually reflect her emotions, but the inner workings of her mind... now that's another matter entirely.

Some members of the team focus on pure offense. Dedue is pretty much the opposite, focusing on pure defense. It is not easy to break past his impressive natural armor, and he's actually often used as a test subject by many of the physically-based members, since they know they can go all-out and not risk hurting him much. He doesn't mind, and actually really likes helping people in this way.
He's not much of a talkative Pokémon and can seem unapproachable and downright scary at times, but it's mostly because he prefers to get to the point concisely. He's actually really gentle, sometimes seen taking care of a squad after a battle.
He bonded with Edea over their respective dislike of Grass Knot. They decided to come up with a training method to patch up that weakness, but so far they've kept empty-handed.

That's right, he took his Gallade out and he gave it a Red Card and he was like 'I'm getting item control with this consumable', and the ref is like "the leads going back and forth are so big" and I'm like 'that's disgusting', so I'm making a callout post on smogon.com/forums, TMan, I've got item control now and I ain't covert about how I'm taking your items, and guess what, this is what my item looks like, that's right baby, all damage reflection, no safety for physical attackers, no reprieve. It's a hard hat with rocks. He had item control now, so guess what, I'm going to 1v1.5, that's right, I'm totally certain I make this comeback, TMan, you can't do anything about my item, but I'm going to go even farther, I'm GOING TO GET FIVE WINS IN TOUR IN A ROW!
