LITTLE CUP TEAMBULDING!!!
LC is a tier that is often quite difficult to get started if you are a newer player to the tier. The reason being that the environment is very foriegn as apposed to other tiers due to the fact that the tier is played with first evolutions and they are level 5. Another thing that is often hard to start of with when playing Little Cup is building a team. If this is a problem for you then not to worry! You will love this project as it helps set you on the right foot when team building! :)
You may of seen similar projects in the RU and NU metagame sections. This thread is exactly the same except it is for Little Cup (Obviously). So basically if you have a set worth posting post it! When posting be sure to follow the posting format below as well as post the actaul set in a ps/po export format so others can simply import the magnificent set you have posted. You can also post sets that shouldnt be used and they will be put in the "Stuff Not to Use" section of this thread. These sets should be posted in A Different Format as the "Stuff to Use" sets. As you only have to post why it is bad and additional info if you really want. Also sprites nice to make your set more presentable and can be found here http://sprites.pokecheck.org/?gen=2. You can also contribute to this project by asking if a specific pokemon is good or not in LC and some expereinced player should come along and awnser your question. Finally I encourage all of you to ask questions about each others sets if they look like they cant do their role propally as long as you be nice about it. Also please dont post gimmicky sets because that is not what this thread is for.

Mienfoo @ Life Orb
Trait: Regenerator
EVs: 236 Atk / 236 Spd / 36 Def
Jolly Nature
- Hi Jump Kick
- Fake Out
- U-turn
- Stone Edge
Role: Physical Attacker / Wall Breaker?
What it does: Sweet Jesus, this thing is freaking strong. I may be new to LC, but from the battles I've had this thing is incredibly destructive. Hi Jump Kick 2HKOs Bronzor, and all of the Psychics that come in to take it get U-Turned out of. Flying-type in the way? Stone Edge! It also has quite a powerful Fake Out. Regenerator helps alleviate LO recoil and hazard damage, allowing it to come in and smack something then switch out.
Good Teammates: RestTalk Chinchou is an awesome partner because it not only resists Flying attacks from the likes of Taillow and Murkrow, but can either destroy them with Discharge or heal the team with Heal Bell. Misdreavus and Murkrow make nice offensive partners as well, hitting the Ghost-types that try to take Hi Jump Kick.
What Counters It: Since there's no Eviolite here, anything with 18+ Speed spells doom for this little guy. Meowth in particular is tricky because of its faster, STAB Technician-boosted Fake Out. Staryu also causes headaches. Ghost-types are awful because of Hi Jump Kick's recoil.
Any Additional Info: Why did I ever use Trapinch?

Diglett @ Choice Band
Ability: Arena Trap
Nature: Jolly
EVs: 36 HP / 236 Atk / 236 Spe
Moves:
~ Earthquake
~ Rock Slide
~ Shadow Claw
~ Memento/Stone Edge
Role: Revenge Killer
What it does: Trap and kill, simple as that. Inability to fly means Diglett will kill you.
Good Teammates: Hazard support means Diglett has to dig through less amount of HP so Dwebble is a perfect teammate for him. He sets stealth rock and a few layers of spikes pretty easily.
What Counters It: Water and grass types. Like every single one of them bar ferroseed. They can take hits and KO back.
Any Additional Info: There are numerous times this guy has worked as a late game sweeper to me. The team he is in is more about entry hazard abusing though so yes, he drilled through like... anything and everything.
By LoboMuzenza
(Scraggy) @ Eviolite
Trait: Moxie / Shed Skin
EVs: 236 Atk / 36 SDef / 236 Spd
Jolly /Adamant Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Drain Punch
- Crunch
- Ice Punch / Zen Headbutt
Role: Physical Sweeper
What it does: Scraggy has proven to be one of the most dangerous set up pokemon in the tier. With good attack and great defenses after evolite Scraggy can set up Dragon Dances on alot of pokemon and after its accumilated a boost or two it can start ploughing through weakend or unprepared teams. Both of its abilities are very useful as Shed Skin helps him set up on more threats like Bronzor that carry status conditions while Moxie helps Scrafty gain some serious power boosts after every Ko. The Final move is also up to the user although Ice Punch is usually better then Zen Headbutt Zen Headbut still has its use against Croagunk and Mienfoo.
Good Teammates: Moxie variants in particular definatly love entry hazard support so Dwebble and Shelmet are often good partners and so is Ferroseed although the two share a fighting weakness. Scraggy also needs help against Fighting Types so Foongus, Misdreavus and sash Abra are also good partners.
What Counters It: Fighting types, Croagunk and Mienfoo in particular as well as Timburr. Scarfoo gets a notable mention of being able to OHKO +1 Scraggy with a Hi Jump Kick. Acid Armour Shelmet can also stop Scraggy cold barring crits and can pick up numerous defense boosts as well as set up spikes. Varaints without Shed Skin will find themselves having more trouble with Bronzors with Toxic.
Any Additional Info: Use Scraggy in Dual Screens or with Moxie and some entry hazards for an almost garunteed sweep

Murkrow @ life orb/eviolite
ability: insomnia
nature: naive
236 Atk / 76 SpA / 188 Spe
moves:
~ Drill peck/brave bird
~ Heat wave
~ Sucker punch
~ Dark pulse/ hidden power grass/roost
Role: Wallbreaker
What it does: Probably the best wall breaker in the tier, murkrow rips through defensive cores. This set takes out the usual switch-ins to murkrow. Flying type stab for the horde of fighting types in little cup, also the go to move on threats heat neutral by Krow's other moves. Heat wave for bronzor, ferroseed, and magnemite that usually wall Krow. Sucker punch for that great priority stab that murkrow can k0 so many weakened pokemon with. This allows murkrow to not get revenge killed easily. The last slot is surprisngly important in what murkrow can be checked by. Dark pulse helps against missy and will-o-wisp users, while hidden power grass
Good Teammates:This set usually koes the steel types in the tier. Dragon type sweepers such as axew and dratini are no longer walled by ferroseed and bronzor. Because of the lack of roost in this set, recoil damage racks up quickly. You should pack a spinner in your team such as staryu, who can handle the fire types murkrow can't ko. Hazards of your own can help a lot. Stealth rock will be key in weakening the fire types for murkrow. Spikes also helps this set use sucker punch for koes much more effectively. Dwebble is very effective in this role.
What Counters It: This set is probably the hardest to counter with just a pokemon. To sets using drill peck, lileep can avoid the k0 60% of the time, but brave bird 2hk0s. To sets without hp grass, high defense shell smashers such as titourga, kabuto, and clamperl can take this set on reliably when using aqua jet to avoid sucker punch. Clamperl has substitute to get around murkrow. When not carrying dark pulse, Misdreavus can will-o-wisp on the predicted sucker punch. Beyond these, Murkrow rips through many teams. By far the best way of countering it is to keep stealth rock on the field and switch on predicted moves to resists so life orb recoil adds up. Murkrow is worn down very easily. Then you can bring a choice scarf user in who hopefully resists sucker punch (mienfoo) and k0.
Additional Info: There are three other very important choices in this set. Life orb is generally preffered over eviolite because without it, Krow loses a lot of 2hk0s and becomes significantly easier to wall. Roost can go in the last slot, but then the same problems occur and Krow is revenge killed usually by the time he gets a chance to roost. Brave bird should only be used when using eviolite (and roost), otherwise recoil damage is too much for krow to handle. Finally, Super luck can be used instead of insomnia for that awesome crit chance, but having a plan to counter sleep-inducing moves is very useful.

Drifloon @ Flying Gem
Ability: Unburden
Nature: Naughty / Naive
EVs: 196 Atk / 116 SpA / 196 Spe
- Acrobatics
- Shadow Ball
- Substitute / Hidden Power Fire
- Destiny Bond / Hypnosis
Role: Mixed Sweeper / Wallbreaker
What it does: Acrobatics Drifloon serves as a solid midgame sweeper that is capable of tearing many of Little Cup's premier walls apart. A Flying Gem-boosted Acrobatics deals a large amount of damage to anything that doesn't resist it, OHKOing most sweepers and 2HKOing nearly everything else. Shadow Ball is a solid STAB move, hitting Pokemon such as Misdreavus and Slowpoke harder than Acrobatics. Substitute, Destiny Bond, and Hypnosis all help Drifloon kill Pokemon that aren't 2HKOed by its STAB moves, while Hidden Power Fire can remove pesky Steel-types that resist Acrobatics and Shadow Ball.
Good Teammates: Drifloon enjoys Rapid Spin support, although it is not necessarily required. Weather, most notably hail from Snover, is helpful for the extra residual damage. Entry hazards are practically a necessity, as they secure several OHKOes and 2HKOes for Drifloon. Magnemite is also a good teammate, as it can trap and remove Steel-types with Magnet Pull.
What Counters It: With good prediction, Acrobatics Drifloon can be very difficult to defeat. Unburden combined with Destiny Bond means that Drifloon will almost always KO at least one Pokemon. RestTalk Chinchou is the best counter, as it doesn't mind Acrobatics, Shadow Ball, Hidden Power Fire, or Hypnosis, and can avoid Destiny Bond using Scald's burn (with smart play and some luck). Steel-types, especially those with Toxic or Leech Seed (Bronzor and Ferroseed come to mind) can easily stall out Drifloon, although they must watch out for Hidden Power Fire. Sucker Punch from Murkrow or Croagunk will easily take out Drifloon, although Substitute and Destiny Bond make it difficult to land one. The easiest way to neutralize this Drifloon is to force it to waste its Flying Gem. Once this Drifloon lacks Unburden, it is easily taken out by any faster Pokemon.

Abra @ Focus Sash
Trait: Magic Guard
EVs: 196 Spd / 236 SAtk / 76 SDef
Modest Nature
- Psychic
- HP Fight
- Shadow Ball
- Protect
Role: Special Attacker
What It Does: This Abra has fun with most of the common metagame mons. First off, Focus Sash is an Abra's favorite toy. With Focus Sash, it can at least drop one Pokemon before being beaten. Magic Guard aids this by completely avoiding entry hazards, and hazard damage which otherwise would make the Sash and Abra useless. First off, Psychic is a powerful stab with max SAtk investment, 2HKOing and even OHKOing most mon that don't resist it. HP Fight is used to help defeat Steel- and Dark-types; it's also helpful against Lileep, which is one of the hardest-to-check mons of all time. Shadow Ball hits Ghost-types hard, OHKOing Drifloon and 2HKOing bulky-Misdreavus. Protect also makes sure your sash doesnt break from fake out users like Mienfoo and Croagunk.
Good Teammates: Porygon is Abra's best friend. It can switch in on a Shadow Ball or Sucker Punch and counter back. Abra, in turn, helps Porygon by switching into Fighting-type moves and blasting Psychic at the opposing mon.
What Counters It: Sadly, Abra has many counters. The biggest ones are Vullaby and Murkrow. Both talk very little damage from any of Abra's attacks and can blast back with Dark Pulse and Sucker Punch, respectively. Misdreavus can beat Abra if it's faster. Porygon can tank a Psychic and destroy it with Shadow Ball. Magnemite, Bronzor, and Ferroseed all counter sets without HP Fight (Bronzor walling it either way) and force a switch, which makes things very complicated.

Drilbur @ Life Orb
Trait: Sand Rush
EVs: 236 Atk / 36 SDef / 236 Spd
Jolly/Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- Rock Slide
- X-Scissor/ Shadow Claw/Protect
- Swords Dance/Rapid Spin
Role: Physical Attacker / Late-Game Sweeper
What It Does: Drilbur is one of the most threatening sweepers in LC because of its ability Sand Rush doubling its speed. This combined with Swords Dance gies you a great late game sweeper in Sand. X-Scissor can be used to hit grass types though Shadow Claw has the ability to wipe the flaw with missy which is generally prefered. However Rapid spin can be used over swords dannce if your team is in need of a rapid spinner and protect can also work in plase of either shadow claw or x-scissor because you already have the "Edgequake" combo with Rock Slide and Earthqauke and Protect is a good scouting option
Good Teammates: is complimented nicely by Foongus, which checks both Water- and Grass-type counters (if you run X-Scissor, then Grass-types aren't really a problem unless they're faster ones like Deerling, etc.). If you run Sand Rush, Hippopotas is the best partner you can have. With Sandstorm support and Sand Rush's speed boost, Drilbur can sweep a large portion of any team. Combined with a Swords Dance boost, it's pure hell to defeat. Also with Magnemite you get the infamous 'Sandmag' core that iss made popular due to Magnemite's ability to take on Steels standing in Drilburs way.
What Counters It: This Drilbur is hard to counter without a proper move. If Drilbur doesn't have X-Scissor and you don't use Foongus, Deerling walks all over this set. Also, due to his weak defenses, STAB Sucker Punch / Brave Bird from Murkrow tears it down quickly. Chinchou can counter it if comes in on anything but an EQ as long as it's faster. Defensive Porygon also has a fun time with this as it can resist all of Drilbur's moves and can easily 2HKO with Tri Attack (or, the rare Ice Beam carriers, which can OHKO)

Dwebble @ Oran Berry
Trait: Sturdy
EVs: 236 Atk / 236 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Shell Smash
- Stone Edge
- Earthquake
- X-Scissor
Role: Early-game Physical Sweeper
What it does: Basically, Dwebble leads off and shell smashes. Then it starts sweeping. It works well because most people who see a lead Dwebble assume it is a defensive spiker. They are in for a shock when they see the shell smash though. Also, its good STABs can hit a lot of LC pokemon for neutral damage, at least. Making Dwebble a big threat.
Good Teammates: Pokemon that can lure and KO priority users like Mienfoo, Croagunk and Timburr (to name a few) work well with Dwebble, altough not much team support is needed as Dwebble works best early-game, when no-one expects a shell smasher. Substitute Misdreavus works well and Wynaut can work as well, giving Dwebble more set-up chances.
What Counters It: Hippopotas can survive any of Dwebble's attacks even after a shell smash and set up all over it. Munchlax can also live hit and Thunder wave, crippling Dwebble massively.
Any Additional Info: You can run rock blast instead of stone edge but the fact that rock blast doesn't always hit 5 times is why I think stone edge is better. Life orb can also be used instead of oran berry but the oran berry stops fake outs or priority moves from ko'ing it quickly.

Tirtouga (M) @ Splash Plate
Trait: Sturdy
EVs: 84 HP / 212 Atk / 12 Def / 180 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Shell Smash
- Aqua Tail
- Stone Edge
- Aqua Jet
Role: Physical Sweeper/Late Game Cleaner.
What it does: Tirtouga likes to sweep teams, and it is damn good at it two. Tirtouga is one of the 5 priviledged LC pokemon to have acces to the infamous Shell Smash letting Tirtouga double his Speed and (Special) attack although it lowens his defenses. However with no hazards on the field Tirtouga is pretty much garunteed one free Shell Smash because of Sturdy. Tirtouga's stab moves have relitively good coverage only being walled by Ferroseed, Lileep and Croagunk. Stone Edge and Aqua Tail are both quite high powered moves and are the stab moves of choice despite their sometimes frustrating accuracy. At first Aqua Jet, may look odd on a pokemon that is supposed to double its speed but it gets great kills on Drilbur and Sandshrew in sand and it also bypasses your opponents attempt to end your sweep early with Sucker Punch. Splash Plate is the prefered item to boost the power of Aqua Jet and Aqua Tail while not giving off recoil damage like Life Orb
Good Teammates: Misdreavus is probally the best teammate for Tirtouga available. The two for the great "MissTouga Core" i used in one of my Little Cup teams. This is because Nasty Plot Misdreavus with Hidden Power [Fighting] can take on Lileep, Ferroseed, Porygon, Slowbro and weaken Croagunk all pokemon who are capable of stopping a Tirtouga sweep. Rapid Spin support is also great to keep Sturdy intact so Staryu is always a good partner as well as Natu.
What Counters It: as mentioned above Lileep, Ferroseed, Porygon, Slowbro, Croagunk.
Any Additional Info: This is my favourite Little Cup Pokemon and it is so adorable :D
By Superpowerdude
Misdreavus @ Life Orb / Eviolite
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 240 SpA / 240 Spe
Timid Nature (+Spe -Atk)
~ Nasty Plot
~ Shadow Ball
~ Hidden Power Fighting
~ Thunderbolt / Icy Wind / Will-O-Wisp / Taunt
Role: Sweeper
What it does: Misdreavus uses her base 85 Speed and Special Attack along with Nasty Plot to become one of the most dangerous LC pokemon in the metagame, especially as a late-game cleaner. One Nasty Plot grants her 36 Special Attack, which is godly when used with her great movepool. Shadow Ball and HP Fighting form unresisted coverage, Thunderbolt hits Water and Flying type pokemon like Clamperl, Tirtouga, and Murkrow. Icy Wind is another option to hit Ground-types and give sand teams a hassle. One can opt for a more defensive set and use Will-O-Wisp to severely cripple offensive threats like Mienfoo and Scraggy. Taunt can stop hazard setters like Dwebble right in their tracks.
Good Teammates: Since Missy forces a lot of switches, entry hazards can make your opponent pretty pooper peeved. Dwebble, a prime hazard setter, is a great example. Other notable Teammates are Ferroseed, Bronxor, Hippopotas, and Shelmet. Misdreavus's main counter is Stunky, and while I myself don't see too much Stunky usage, pokemon that can take care of the stinky bastard make for good teammates. Fighting-types can spook Stunky pretty well, some examples are Timburr, who gets an Attack boost if Stunky tries to poison him, and Croagunk, who can abuse priority moves like Vacuum Wave and Sucker Punch. Diglett is a great friend to have, as it can trap Stunky and kill it with a super-effective EQ.
What Counters It: As I briefly stated in the previous section, Stunky is sort of Misdreavus's one and only true counter. Stunky can comfortably take anything Misdreavus can throw at it, and trap it with Pursuit or hit hard with Crunch. If Stunky is too stinky for you, Normal-type special walls like Porygon and Munchlax are immune to Misdreavus's STAB attack and can take a HP Fighting. If defense is too cool for you, any hard hitting pokemon that can pressure Missy works. Hydro Pump, Blizzard, Fire Blast, Outrage, etc. Croagunk can most of the time survive Misreavus's attacks and can retaliate with Dark-type moves.
Additional Info: Misdreavus is a great LC poke who checks many offensive threats and can sweep anyone who does not prepare for it.

Role: Special wall/ Status absorber/cleric
What it does: Chinchou exceeds in taking the dangerous fire types in the tier. Hidden power grass can't phase him as he has recovery in rest talk. Chinchou also takes on threats such as staryu and murkrow, as well as specially based shell smashers. Despite rest-talk usually finding its place on stall teams, Chinchou can also provide useful attributes to balanced or offensive teams. It spreads burns with scalds, allowing physical heats to be taken better, but it can also cure its team of nasty status. If you choose discharge, you can provide paralysis support for the rest of your team. Chinchou can also take all the status moves for your team!
Good Teammates: Something to take on chlorophyll sweepers and a revenge killer for dragon dancing foes or enemies with immunities to status. A general fail-safe for balanced teams is abra, who with strong special attack and a focus sash, revenges many threats. Abra also appreciates Chinchou's ability to take out murkrow. Chinchou also needs a partner to take on strong fighting type threats such as mienfoo and timburr. Larvesta is a good answer, same goes for foongus. Something to take on croagunk aswell, such as slowpoke, staryu with psychic, or murkrow. You also need to pack a fighting type to deal with lileep.
What Counters It: Strong physical attacks will break through chinchou. Mienfoo will beat chinchou with hi jump kick, and so will most other fighting types. Two in particular deserve a special mention; Croagunk and timburr. Croagunk can heal from chinchou's only attacking move in scald. Croagunk can then knock off Chinchou's eviolite, severely crippling it for the rest of the match. While timburr can actually just bulk up on chinchou, healing with drain punch, which could be buffed by a guts scald burn. Perhaps, the greatest counter is lileep. Getting a storm drain boost from scald while not minding paralysis, lileep can boost on chinchou with stockpile or kill it with energy ball.
Any Additional Info: Use Chinchou wisely and he will be a great asset to any team needing a special wall and a hard counter to murkrow.

Timid-Harvest
EVs: 196 HP / 76 Atk / 196 SpA / 196 Spe
-Sleep Powder
-Substitute
-Leaf Storm / Giga Drain
-Psychic
Role: Wall
What it Does: Exeqqgute is quite a diverse pokemon in the way that it can use its offenses and defenses in the one set. For one he walls the common water+electric-type combinations commonly found on Staryu and Chinchou. While also being able to threaten the fighting-typ infested tier with Psychic. Leaf Storm provides Exeqqgute with a high powered stab move to dish out alot of damage or you could go with Giga Drain although it is weaker it acts as pseaudo recovery for Exeqqgute. Oran Berry+Harvest keeps Exeqqgute nice and healthy which is also good. Sleep Powder pretty much takes out one of your opponents pokemon for the whole match making Exeqqgute easy to fit on teams.
Good Teammates: Exeqqgute causes alot of switches and switches out alot so Rapid Spin and hazards support is usually prefered. Staryu and Omaynte both synergise well with Exeqqgute while also providing Rapid Spin and hazards support respectivly. Due to Sleep Powder crippling a pokemon for the whole game any set up sweeper also works well with Exeggute.
What Counters It: Houndour destroys Exeggute with his stab attacks. Stunky and Scraggy can also beat him with their dark-type stabs. Larvesta can also beat it with his stabs but all of these pokemon need to be weary about Sleep Powder
Additional Info: Exeggute looks funny
Shroomish (M) @ Eviolite
Trait: Poison Heal
EVs: 196 HP / 196 Def / 36 SAtk / 36 SDef
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Synthesis
- Giga Drain
- Spore
- Stun Spore
Role: Wall
What it does: Shroomish is quite a useful wall to counter Drilbur, Staryu and Chinchou three common pokemon in the tier. He can take any of their hits even a +2 Drilburs X-Scissor, and proceed to either Spore or use Giga Drain which hits all of those pokemon super effectivevley. With Spore and Stun Spore Shroomish can spread crippling status to alot of your opponents team members. He is a great pokemon for any offensive team in need of defence because he can also support offensive teams with Spore, and Stun Spore.
Good Teammates: Misdreavus is a great team mate being one of the biggest Toxic lures in the game letting her lure in Toxic so Shroomish can get the Poison Heal recovery. Pretty much any set up sweeper appreciates the status that Shroomish spreads so things like Scraggy, Shellder, Axew are all good team mates. Houndour is also great with Flash Fire seeing as Shroomish has a Fire-type weakness.
What Counters It: Natu stops this set cold. With Magic Bounce Natu reflects all status moves back to Shroomish while he resists Shroomish's only attacking move as well. Scarf Snover can also prove quite threatening with stab Blizzard and Cottonee resists Giga Drain, while having Prankster Taunt to shut down Shroomish.
Any Additional Info: Shroomish is a very good defensive pokemon and is almost unstopable to ko if it has been poisoned.

- Spikes
- Earthquake/X-Scissor
- Rock Blast
Role: Hazard User
What it does: Dwebble is a great entry hazards setter due to having the ability to set up both Stealth Rocks and Spikes. It also has a good 16 speed stat which is quite high for a pokemon that sets up hazards. The Combination of Sturdy+Oran Berry typically gives Dwebble the chance to set up Stealth Rock and 1+ layer(s) of Spikes. With Sturdy intact it can also check alot of offensive pokemon and Rock Blast is a godsend to Dwebble dude to the abundance of substitute using pokemon in Little Cup letting Dwebble beat pokemon like SubRoost Murkrow, Sash Abra and Sub Gastly with Rock Blast. (as Long as Sturdy is intact).
Good Teammates: Due to the hazards the Dwebble lays he usually apprieciates offenseive support to cause switches. Volt-Turn chains work particularily well with Dwebble as Chinchou, Mienfoo, Larvesta is a great offensive Volt-Turn core that utilizes Dwebbles hazard support by causing numerous switches. Spinblockers like Frilish also work well to prevent your hazards getting spun. Speaking about spinning Rapid Spin support from pokemon like Staryu is also apprieciated to keep Dwebbles sturdy intact.
What Counters It: Staryu and Tentacool come to mind as they can hit it super effectivly as well as spin away its hazards although Tentacool has to watch out for earthqauke. Dwebble is also defensless against strong set up sweepers like Scraggy and Timburr, One notable set up sweeper threat is Shellder who can Shell Smash then Icicle Spear/ Rock Blast both of which hit Dwebble hard
Any Additional Info: Earthqauke is usauly better then X-Scissor.

- Rapid Spin
Role: Spinner/ Supporting attacker/status absorber
What it does: Staryu is the best spinner in little cup, hands down. It has pretty good bulk with eviolite, keeping its good bulk with recover. Water/electric is a fantastic attacking type hitting many pokes hard. Hydro pump pretty much 2hkos everything that doesn't resist it, backed by staryu's power. Natural Cure is just icing on the cake as he can absorb status from pokes like misdreavus. He is great at damaging the opponents pokemon, facilitating a sweep for a teammate. His supporting attacking abilities allows him to always be a viable spot for one's team.
Good Teammates: Any pokemon that hates Stealth rock loves staryu as a teammate. This allows for life orb attackers to benefit from not being wore down by spikes+SR. He is also able to switch into the rare toxic spikes, spin, and switch out cured of poison. Larvesta greatly benefits from staryu as it does not lose half its health from switching in. It can also absorb strong fighting type attacks aimed at staryu. A teammate that can take on chinchou and dragon types is necessary. Chinchou and grass types will help to counter opposing Chinchou and Bronzor is wall that fears no dragon types. Grass types also resist staryu's attacks. This makes Murkrow and fire types good teammates, both appreciating Staryu's ability to spin stealth rock away.
What Counters It: Chinchou is the number one counter to this. It gains health from volt absorb and takes nothing from hydro pump. Lileep is equally good as Chinchou, getting a special attack boost from hydro pump. It also doesn't take much from ice beam variants. Dragon types and Grass types usually have nothing to fear, but have to watch out for ice beam. You can also use strong stab attacks like Choice scarf mienfoo's Hi jump kick to take down staryu.
Additional Info: Ice beam can be used instead of rapid spin but staryu then is a bulky attacker. This will allow grass and dragon types to no longer wall it.

Trait: Regenerator
EVs: 204 HP / 236 Def
Bold Nature
- Spore
- Giga Drain
- Stun Spore/Clear Smog
- Hidden Power [Fire] / Hidden Power [Flying]
Role: Physical wall/status spreader
What it does: Basically the immovable object to the presumed unstoppable force that is the fighting types in little cup. Known as the fighting type tier within a particularly fighting heavy generation, Foongus is here to put a stop to even black belt fighting masters. LO HJK from mienfoo does 34.61 - 38.46% to Foongus, while you have plenty of options to hurt mienfoo. Foongus is also able to take on chinchou with resistance to its stab, and giga drain healing of hp fire damage. The one thing that makes Foongus dominate is Regenerator. He is able to take on the assaults of many top physical threats and switch to a check. He is also great for blind switches as that recovery can allow him to take more hits in the future. He is also a great counter to sandstorm teams. He rocks Hippo's world and can take a +2 eq from eviolite drilbur (watch out for LO variants) and spore it, or he can giga drain doing 76% regaining a third of his health and switching out to gain two thirds of his health. This guy is amazing. He can use sludge bomb as something to hit giga drain resists hard. HP flying is in case croagunk is a problem. Stun spore for double status or clear smog to reliably take on scraggy. Synthesis is an interesting option that gives him great staying power, but you will rarely find time to use it, and Sandstorm is pretty popular.
Good Teammates: Foongus needs something to take powerful fire attacks. Any bulkier water type can do the trick, preferably Chinchou as he can take the special attacks and resists brave bird which Foongus fears. Slowpoke and Foongus form an impentrable physical walling combo, due to them both having regenerator. Something that reliably takes on abra too, as abra is a problem for Foongus. Stunky can do this, while also taking out Misdreavus.
What Counters It: Most fire types and anything with strong special attack. !This does not include most hidden power fire!).Though Foongus can always neuter a problem with spore, so watch out. A special mention goes to insomnia murkrow who has no fear of spore and can hit back with stab brave bird or drill peck. Murkrow needs to be careful of stun spore though. Sap sipper deerling is also a good counter, absorbing grass attacks, only fearing sludge bomb. Timburr is really the only fighting type that can beat Foongus, if it carries ice punch, which will always 2hko after sr.

Hippopotas @ Eviolite
Trait: Sand Stream
EVs: 132 HP / 20 Atk / 212 Def / 100 SpD / 20 Spe
Impish Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Rock Slide
- Slack Off
Role: Lead
What it does: Hippopotas' main selling point is Sand Storm, currently being one of the only two ways to get permanent weather in LC. If you have a Sand Team and you're not using Hippo to set the weather, stay off the LC ladder, because that's a dumb idea. Hippo's defenses are 25 / 27 / 18 coupled with the EV spread and Eviolite, which means it won't be going anyway too soon. Without Sandstorm taking up a moveslot, Hippo brings out his full potential. Stealth Rock, in addition to sand, racks up damage on the other team noticeably and quickly. Slack Off increases longevity, which saves any Sand-based sweepers from getting blasted right off the bat, as Hippo can deal damage to the opposing team before being picked off, making it easier for sweepers to get their kicks in. EQ is a fabulous STAB, and with Rock Slide, it offers wonderful neutral coverage.
Good Teammates: Setting up sand opens a window for sweepers and stalls alike. Drilbur is the most common offensive sand sweeper, and loves Hippo like a brother for the things it does to help. Lileep gets off greatly from sand, and also helps because all Sand-teams having a gaping water weakness, which Lileep covers with Storm Drain. Sandshrew, although outclassed by Drilbur, can also be used for late-game sweeping since its DW ability was released. Pretty much anything with Sand Veil, Sand Rush, or a Rock/Ground/Steel typing is good for Hippo.
What Counters It: Hippo's weak SDef is the only thing that sets it off. Slowpoke takes both EQ and Rock Slide and hits back with Scald. The burn chance is unappreciated as it weakens Hippo significantly. A Hi Jump Kick from Mienfoo does decent damage as well. Abra is a very good counter because Magic Guard blocks Sandstorm damage, Entry Hazards, and it can fire off a Psychic to KO.
Any Additional Info: If entry hazards aren't your thing or another mon has it covered, you can opt for Toxic > SR, which, combined with Slack Off, makes Hippo an effective stall as well.

Role: Weather Abuser / Special Sweeper
What it does: This thing is supposed to get a substitute calm mind a few time then sweep with an unburden boost while this may look good on paper Dwebble and Shellder for one can completely shut it dow with Rock Blast and Icicle Spear as well as Drifloon not being a very bulky pokemon so its subs can easily be broken and it needs multiple boosts before it sweeps. If you are in need of an offense drifloon set or even a drifloon set worth using go with Acrobatics set. Even with an unburden boost with Ice Shard, Shadow Punch and Sucker Punch hitting super effectivly this isnt the ideal speciall sweeper stick with missy
Good Teammates: Honestly this Drfiloon set needs heaps of support to work like daul screens and it needs hazard layers to do some damage as it wont find oppurtunities to boost to long but really it is just not worth using.
What Counters It: Anything with proirity that can hit it super effectivly Dwebble and Shellder can easliy handle then with there multiple hit moves and any pokemon that can out speed and hit it super effectivly.
Any Additional Info: Please dont use Drifloon as a special sweeper stick with misdreavus..

Team preview happened sorry Meowth
Why its Bad:In all seriousness, this set doesn't do enough damage to the current meta and is a poor Fake Out abuser when compared to Mienfoo and Croagunk. It also struggles to stay alive if it has to take a hit or even if it doesn't due to the huge residual damage it has to take throughout the match from Life Orb and Stealth Rock.

Why it shouldn't be used: For one this pokemon has the lowest stats of all pokemon in the entire game! This pokemon is absolutely terrible. While a few users like to use Seedot in the one thing it is viable in sun. It is very very bad. You may be able to get a cool little sweep with Seedot on someone who doesn't know how to play Little Cup but any half decent competitive team will make you pay for using Seedot. I can't stress enough how terrible this pokemon is.

I'm not kidding when I say I really saw some one attempting to use this set against me. Abra is so beyond frail that if you seriously waste a slot on a set-up moves, you're screwed. This Abra can't do shit compared to the actual offensive Abra set. It dies immediately to Shadow Ball from Missy, U-Turn from Mienfoo, and just so many other things that it's just pointless even attempting to use this set.

Pineco @ Eviolite

EVs: 196 HP / 76 Atk / 196 Def
-Rapid Spin
-Stealth Rock/Spikes/Toxic Spikes
-Payback
-Bug Bite
Seriously, Pineco sucks. Dwebble outclasses it 100% as a hazard setter, Shelmet has reliable recovery, Spikes and Acid Armor.
"Yeah, but Pineco gets Rapid Spin too!" True, but if the opponent has Misdreavus or Frillish, it can literally do nothing.
"Yeah, but Pineco can set up Toxic Spikes!" Okay, this one is a slight advantage but Omanyte and Tentacool both do this better due to not being sitting ducks (Maybe Tentacool). Not to mention the presence of Croagunk, Foongus and Stunky rendering this useless.
Pineco seems good on paper, but so many things can come in and threaten it. Misdreavus sets up easily, Scraggy sets up easily, Pawniard sets up easily, Axew sets up easily, Shell Smashers set up easily, Drilbur sets... yeah you get my point.
