Overview
########

Mega Kangaskhan's unique ability, Parental Bond, allows it to hit with a move a second time at 50% of its total power, making it a powerhouse in VGC. The tutor moves it received in ORAS made it even better than before, with coverage moves such as Ice Punch and Low Kick; these new moves make Kangaskhan quite difficult to deal with.

All-Out Attacker
########
name: All-Out Attacker
move 1: Return / Double-Edge
move 2: Power-Up Punch / Low Kick
move 3: Sucker Punch
move 4: Fake Out
ability: Scrappy
item: Kangaskhanite
evs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
nature: Jolly / Adamant

Moves
========

Return is the main STAB move of this set, as it hits hard without any other negative effects; however, Double-Edge can be used to allow Kangaskhan to hit harder but with recoil. After a Power-Up Punch, Kangaskhan can KO most common threats in VGC with ease. Low Kick can be used, however, over Power-Up Punch to OHKO Pokemon that are weak to it, such as opposing Kangaskhan and Hydreigon. Ice Punch can also be used in that moveslot, as it hits two common Intimidate users, Landorus-T and Salamence, as well as Amoonguss super effectively. Sucker Punch is needed on this set, as it is the only move that Kangaskhan can hit Ghost-types with after Mega Evolving; it's the only move on the set that has priority and a decent Base Power. Fake Out is a incredibly useful utility move, allowing Kangaskhan to Mega Evolve safely.

Set Details
========

The EV spread allows Kangaskhan to hit as hard and fast as possible. As it has only one weakness and decent bulk, it can survive many hits without any investment in bulk. 252 Speed EVs and a Jolly nature allow Kangaskhan to outspeed Mega Charizard Y. An Adamant nature allows Kangaskhan to heavily damage bulky Pokemon such as Sylveon, Amoonguss, and Rotom-A, whilst still outspeeding many Pokemon.

Usage Tips
========
With an appropriate partner, Mega Kangaskhan is an amazing lead Pokemon, as it can either Fake Out a foe and let its partner KO the foe, or just heavily damage a target, though there aren't many Pokemon that can survive Kangaskhan's attacks after they have taken damage.

Team Options
========

Kangaskhan has three main weakness: Fighting -types, status, and Intimidate. As such, Pokemon that can deal with Intimidate users, such as Defiant or Competitive users such as Bisharp or Milotic, respectively, make for good partners. Bulky Ghost-, Psychic-, Flying-, and Fairy -types, such as Thundurus, Sylveon, and Aegislash, make for good partners as well, as they are able to deal with Fighting -types with ease. Intimidate users, such as such as Landorus, Hitmontop, and Gyarados, are also able to deal with Fighting-types and other physical attackers. Will-O-Wisp users, such as Rotom-A and Sableye, and Thunder Wave users, such as Thundurus and Cresselia, can support Kangaskhan by inflicting its foes with status, allowing to sweep more easily; Prankster users, such as Thundurus and Whimsicott, can also help with that.

Bulky Offensive
########
name: Bulky Offensive
move 1: Return / Double-Edge
move 2: Low Kick / Power Up Punch
move 3: Sucker Punch
move 4: Protect / Fake Out
ability: Scrappy
item: Kangaskhanite
evs: 92 HP / 252 Atk / 44 Def / 52 SpD / 68 Spe
nature: Adamant

Moves
========

Return is the Normal-type STAB move of choice, as it hit hard, though Double-Edge can be considered instead to hit harder but at the cost of some recoil. Low Kick can be used for a Fighting-type moves to KO opposing Kangaskhan. Power-Up Punch can also be used in that moveslot, as it allows Kangaskhan to bypass burns and Intimidate while helping Kangaskhan to boost its Attack. Sucker Punch covers Ghost-types and gives Kangaskhan a priority move. Finally, Protect is used to guarantee Kangaskhan a completely safe Mega Evolution; it also protects Kangaskhan from spread moves from its partner, such as Earthquake. Fake Out fits a more supportive role, dealing damage to a target, causing it to flinch, and allowing a partner to KO the target.

Set Details
========

The EV spread allows Kangaskhan to take multiple hits with ease and hit as hard as possible. The defensive investment lets Kangaskhan survive a max Attack Mega Kangaskhan's Low Kick, an Adamant max Attack Iron Fist Conkeldurr's Drain Punch, and a Modest max Special Attack Choice Specs Hydreigon's Draco Meteor. It also allows Kangaskhan to avoid the 2HKO from Flash Cannon from Quiet max Special Attack Aegislash, which is one of Kangaskhan's most solid counters. The Speed EVs allow Kangaskhan to outspeed Pokemon with base 145 Speed and below under Tailwind, which helps a lot against fast offensive Pokemon, such as Mega Lucario and Mega Metagross. Kangaskhan can only outspeed Adamant max Speed Bisharp after Mega Evolving, however.

Usage Tips
========

This set is difficult to lead with if it carries Protect, as it cannot Fake Out the for and cause it to flinch, making it and its partner vulnerable to being KOed. Kangaskhan can easily KO bulky Pokemon when they have taken prior damage, so Kangaskhan is useful for late-game cleaning. It also outspeeds quite a few Pokemon if Tailwind is set up, so Tailwind can be used to make Kangaskhan shine mid-game.

Team Options
========

Although this set does not fear Fighting -types as much as the All-Out Attacker set does thanks to its extra bulk, it still has problems with status and Intimidate, making Defiant or Competitive users such as Bisharp or Milotic, respectively, good partners for Kangaskhan. The only Fighting-type move thank OHKOes Kangaskhan is Close Combat, which Ghost-types such as Aegislash are immune to, and Flying- and Fairy-types such as Talonflame and Sylveon can easily OHKO most Close Combat users. An Intimidate user such as Landorus-T or Scrafty can also help Kangaskhan stay on the field longer. As Kangaskhan appreciates Tailwind support, bulky Tailwind users such as Zapdos and Togekiss make for good partners. Fighting-types such as Lucario can OHKO Kangaskhan even after Intimidate, making Follow Me or Rage Powder users, such as Amoonguss and the aforementioned Togekiss imperative. Sableye, Klefki, and Rotom-W still are problematic, so a fast Prankster Taunt user such as Thundurus also makes for a good partner.

Other Options
########

Kangaskhan is crippled by status, so Facade can be used to allow Kangaskhan to hit through burn with a 140 Base Power move that is boosted by STAB. Kangaskhan can also run Fire Punch if your team has trouble dealing with Pokemon such as Amoonguss, Ferrothorn, Scizor, and Gourgeist. Drain Punch can be used instead of Low Kick to gain more longevity. Crunch can be used over Sucker Punch to not have to play mind games with the foe. Special moves such as Ice Beam and Fire Blast can be used if you don't wish to have to take Rocky Helmet, Iron Barbs, or Rough Skin damage by using a physical move. Finally, though Kangaskhan has a decent Speed stat, it still can be used successfully in Trick Room teams, as Hammer Arm halves its Speed, making it extremely "fast" in Trick Room.

Checks and Counters
########

**Intimidate and Burns**: As Kangaskhan is a physical attacker, Intimidate users, such as Landorus-T, Mawile, and Scrafty, as well as Will-O-Wisp users, such as Rotom-A and Sableye, are able to cripple it and force it out or force it to have to use Power -Up Punch to boost its Attack.

**Aegislash and Gengar**: Aegislash can only be hit by Sucker Punch or the rare Crunch and doesn't take much damage from Scrappy Low Kick and Return, unlike other Ghost-types. Also, Gengar can burn Kangaskhan or use another status move while it uses Sucker Punch, though it cannot take a Scrappy Return unlike Aegislash.

**Speed Control**: Kangaskhan's reliance on it Speed makes it useless against Trick Room, Thunder Wave, and Icy Wind users, such as Cresselia.

**Double Targeting**: As Protect is not a common move on Kangaskhan it is vulnerable to double targeting; Fake Out sets are also susceptible to other faster Fake Out users. If Kangaskhan hits itself in confusion after getting its Attack boosted by Power -Up Punch it will also be extremely easy for a foe to KO it.

**Strong Fighting-type moves**: Fighting-type moves, such as Superpower, Low Kick, and Close Combat, are Kangaskhan's only weakness, and Kangaskhan is not able to survive Fighting-type moves easily, especially because they are extremely common.

**Iron Barbs/Rocky Helmet/Rough Skin**: Rough Skin, Rocky Helmet, and Iron Barbs handle Kangaskhan quite well, as they make Kangaskhan take damage every time it attacks; this is made even worse if Kangaskhan runs Double-Edge, which already has recoil. The recoil received will make Kangaskhan easily KOed.

Ready for GP control! Also, i added a Rocky Helmet/Iron Barbs checks/counters tag. Amoonguss is a really common check to Kangaskhan because with Effect Spore and Rocky Helmet damage threatening you, you won't be able to really hurt Amoonguss with Kangaskhan without suffering a lot of damage.

Kangaskhan has been one of people'sa popular choice for a Mega Evolution since 2014, and for a really solid reason. Mega Kangaskhan's unique ability, Parental Bond, allows himit to hit with a move for a second time at 50% of its total power, making himit a powerhouse in this tier. Besides the already good coverage heKangaskhan had last year, the tutor moves in ORAS really buffstrengthened himit, with elemental coverage likemoves such as Ice Punch, Thunder Punch, Fire Punch and 2 new fighting moves known as Low Kick and Drain Punch. This set abuses Mega Kangaskhan's Parental Bond to set up and go for the sweep. Return is the main STAB move of this set, as it hits hard without any kind of negative effect for the user, meanwhile Double-Edge allows Kangaskhan to hit harder but comes with a 33% of recoil. After ausing Power-Up Punch, Kangaskhan can KO with ease most of the threats in VGC with ease. Low Kick is a another option that can be used to OHKO opposing Mega Kangaskhan, Hydreigon, etc. Ice Punch is also an option to hit 2 of the most common intimidators out there,, namely Landorus and Salamence, and it hits Amoonguss as well. Sucker Punch is needed on this set, because it is the only move that allows Kangaskhan to hit Ghost-Type Pokémon after Mega Evolving, and it's the only move of Kangaskhan that has solid base power and priority. Fake Out is a incredibly useful utility move, as it allows to flinchcan make an opposing Pokémon flinch and let Kangaskhan Mega Evolve safely.

Set Details

This Kangaskhan EV spread is meant to do one thing: hit as hard and fast as possible. With Kangaskhan having decent bulk overall, and only having one weakness, it can survive a lot of hits from other Pokémon without any kind of bulk investment. Modest Mega Charizard Y is something that needs to be covered, so Jolly max Speed Kangaskhan will be able to outspeed Charizard and go for the KO it. With an Adamant Nature, you'Kangaskhan will be able to deal tons of damage to bulky Pokémon likesuch as Sylveon, Amoonguss, or any kindvariant of Rotom, and still outspeed a lot of Pokémon in the actual VGC tier.

Usage Tips
========
Kangaskhan is an excellent lead with the appropiate partner, as it can either Fake Out a possible threat and let the partner go for the KO, or just attacking one of the Pokémon on the opposing side for massive damage, but i. It can as well stay in the back and go for the cleaning up late-game, because there aren't many things that can survive Kangaskhan's attacks after they have concealreceived damage from its teammates.

Team Options
========

Kangaskhan fears 3 main things: fighting types, status conditions and Intimidate users. Having as a partner a Pokémon that can deal with Intimidate users such as Bisharp or Milotic and scare them out such as Bisharp or Milotica partner really helps to bring out Kangaskhan to bring her's full potential. To take care of fighting types, use bulky Ghost-, Psychic-, Flying- or Fairy -types such as Thundurus, Sylveon and Aegislash. Intimidate users can nerfgate fighting types as well, such as Landorus, Hitmontop or Gyarados. When we talk about burns, WoWill-o-Wisp Rotom, and Sableye are the ones that come to mind, meanwhile in the paralysis sectiocan both burn Kangaskhan, we havhile Thundurus and Cresselia can paralyse it. A fast prankster user can helps with that aspect, whe Kangaskhan greatly. Thundurus and Whimsicott inmediately comes to mind.

Moves
========

This Kangaskhan set is meant to hit hard, so it needs to have some solid STAB moves. Return hits for a solid amount of damage, aswhile Double-Edge hits harder but with the cost of some recoil. As for the fighting moves, Low Kick is the choice if you want to KO other Mega Kangaskhan, meanwhile Drain Punch helps youKangaskhan to survive a little longer by helping regain health. Power-Up Punch is also a choice, as it allows you to surbypass burns, intimidatesand Attack drops and helps Kangaskhan to boost his devastating power. Sucker Punch covers Ghost-Types and gives Kangaskhan some priority. And fFinally, Protect giveallows Kangaskhan a completely safeto Mega Evolutionve safely and protects it from wide range attacks from its partner, likesuch as Earthquake and Discharge, meanwhiled Fake Out fits a more supportive role, dealing prior damage to a target, flinching it, and allowing a partner to pick upKO the KOtarget.

Set Details
========

The following EV spread is meant to allow Kangaskhan to survive multiples hits, as it already haves maximum attack potential. With this EV spread, is guaranteeded to survive a Max Attack Mega Kangaskhan's Low Kick, a Drain Punch from Adamant Max Attack Conkeldurr, and a Modest Max Special Attack Choice Specs Hydreigon's Draco Meteor. It can also avoid the 2HKO from Quiet Max Special Attack Aegislash's Flash Cannon, which is one of the most solid Kangaskhan counters. When it comes to speed, the speed EVs are meant to let Kangaskhan outspeed base 145 and below Pokemon after a Tailwind, which comes in handy against fast-paced offensive Pokemons, especially against Mega Lucario and Mega Metagross. It can only outspeed Adamant Max Speed Bisharp after Mega Evolving, so have that in mindowever.

Usage Tips
========

This Kangaskhan set is not as fast as the other set, and if it carries Protect, it would be pretty difficult to lead with himit, as youKangaskhan won't be able to get the utility Fake Out on some faster mons and thosefoes which could easily target your partner as well. Kangaskhan can easily KO bulky monfoes when they have sustained more damage through the battle, so hsaving it in the back is really good for late-game cleaning. It also has a niche if Tailwind is up, so you can use your Tailwind to make Kangaskhan shine during mid-game.

Team Options
========

It doesn't fear the Fighting types as much as in the All-Out Offensive Set, but status conditions and Intimidate still can nerfgate it a little bitslightly, so having a Defiant/Competitive Pokémon such as Milotic or Bisharp is still appreciated by Kangaskhan. The only Fighting move that seems to be a guaranteed OHKO on Kangaskhan is Close Combat, andbut Ghost Pokémon likesuch as Aegislash can laugh overare immune to them, meanwhile; also, Pokémon likesuch as Talonflame or Sylveon can easily OHKO most Close Combat users. An Intimidate user such as Landorus-T or Scrafty could really help Kangaskhan to survive a little longer. This Kangaskhan set needs Tailwind, so a Bbulky Tailwind setter likesuch as Zapdos or Togekiss arwould be useful. Fighting Types likesuch as Lucario could OHKO Kangaskhan even after Intimidate, so Kangaskhanit will need a little more of support to survive. A Follow Me/Rage Powder user such as Amoonguss or the alfoready mentioned Togekiss could help Kangaskhan in redirecting both Fighting type attacks and status attacks. Sableye, Klefki and Rotom are still big problems to deal with, so a fast Taunt user such as Thundurus could help Kangaskhan to not geprevent statused effects in an important situation.

Other Options
########

Kangaskhan is one of those Pokémon that can be nerfKOed through burns and that normally the opponent will target with an status move. Facade allows Kangaskhan to have a move that ignores the Attack drop, has 140 base power and, STAB, and that hits pretty hard to some of the Status Move users pretty hard. Kangaskhan can also run Fire Punch if your team lacks fFire-type coverage and you have trouble dealing with Pokémon likesuch as Amoonguss, Ferrothorn, Scizor or even Gourgeist. Crunch can be used over Sucker Punch if you don't want to leaveallow your hiopponent to your opponentdictate whether Kangaskhan's choiceattack hits, and it can hit Pokémon likesuch as Aegislash and Gengar even if they use an Sstatus Mmove. Special Moves likesuch as Ice Beam and Fire Blast can be used if you don't want to take Rocky Helmet/Iron Barbs/Rough Skin damage by using a physical move. And finally, Kangaskhan has a incrediblye speed, but it still havecan succeded in Trick Room Teams, making one Hammer Arm lowercut its speed in half, and becominge one of the fastest Trick Room Pokémon in the VGC metagame under Trick Room.

Checks & Counters
########

**Intimidate and Burns**: Kangaskhan is a physically offensive Pokémon, so Intimidate users such as Landorus-T, Mawile and Scrafty and Will-O-Wisp users likesuch as Rotom and Sableye naturally cripple it to the point it is forced to switch out or go foruse Power Up Punch.

**Aegislash and Gengar**: WP Aegislash has been becoming more and more popular, and the only move that it can really touch it is Sucker Punch. At the difference of other Ghost-Types, Aegislash can't be touched even by an Adamant Max Attack Low Kick or Return from Scrappy regular Kangaskhan, and Sucker Punch can only hit if the target uses a offensive move, an ideal case-scenario for Substitute Aegislash. Also, Pokémon such as Mega Gengar(or regular gGengar) can laugh overare immune to Kangaskhan's Sucker Punch as they can burn it or uses any other kind of Status Move.

**Speed Control**: Kangaskhan sometimes relyies on Speed, so it needs to outspeed relevant threats to aim forget the victoryKO. Pokémon such as Cresselia can live all of Kangaskhan's attacks and use Trick Room/Thunder Wave/Icy Wind to nerfgate Kangaskhan and make himit somewhat useless.

**Double Targeting**: If Kangaskhan cannot attack for one turn, any kind of Pokémon could target it and finish himit off, as not many Kangaskhan carry Protect, making herit really vulnerable in that aspect. The fact that it doesn't carry Protect really often makes Fake Out sets extremely vulnerable to other Fake Out users. If Kangaskhan hits heritself after a Power Up Punch bonus, you'it will be dealing youritself as much damage as an Blade Aegislash hitting itself, allowing any kind of opponent to KO you back.

**Strong Fighting moves**: Fighting is Kangaskhan's only weakness, and there are many powerful fighting types out there. But is not just fighting type Pokémon wthat beats Kangaskhan, it is powerful fighting type attacks can beat it as well. As iI mentioned, Kangaskhan needs a complex EV spread to survive a Low Kick from another Kangaskhan, and moves likesuch as Superpower and Close Combat are seen a lot in this year's VGC.

**Iron Barbs/Rocky Helmet**: Thisese kind of abilities can handle Kangaskhan quite well, as you are likely to receive 25% damage each time you hit, and if your Kangaskhan carries Double-Edge the recoil you'll receive would leave you in amight make Kangaskhan 2HKO range....to youritself.

And fFinally, though Kangaskhan has a incredibly sdecent Speed, but stat, it still havcan be used succededssfully in Trick Room Tteams, making oneas Hammer Arm lower halves its sSpeed in half, and becomaking one of the it extremely "fastest" in Trick Room Pokémon in the VGC metagame.

Checks & Counters

**Intimidate and Burns**: As Kangaskhan is a physically offensive Pokémon attacker, so Intimidate users, such as Landorus-T, Mawile, and Scrafty, ands well as Will-O-Wisp users like, such as Rotom-A and Sableye naturally, are able to cripple it to thand force point it isout or forced to switch out or go for it to have to use Power -Up Punch to boost its Attack.

**Aegislash and Gengar**: WP Aegislash has been becoming more and more popular, and the only movbe that it can reallby touch it is Sucker Punch. At or the differare Crunce of other Ghost-Types, Aegislash cah and doesn't be totake muched even by an Adamant Max Attack Low Kick or Returnge from Scrappy regular Kangaskhan,Low Kick and Sucker Punch can only hit if Return, unlike othe target uses a offensive move, idealr Ghost-types. Also, Gengar case-scenario for Substitute Aegislash. Also, Pokémon as Mega Gengar(or regular gengar) can laugh n burn Kangaskhan or use another status mover Kangaskhan' while it uses Sucker Punch as, they burnough it or uses any other kind of Status Movecannot take a Scrappy Return unlike Aegislash.

**Speed Control**: Kangaskhan sometime's rely on Speed, soiance on it needs to outsSpeed relevant threatmakes to aim for the victory. Pokémon such as Cresselia can live all of Kangaskhan attacks and usegainst Trick Room/, Thunder Wave/, and Icy Wind to nerf Kangaskhan and make him somewhat uusers, such as Cresseless.ia.

**Double Targeting**: If Kangaskhan cannot attack one turn, any kind of Pokémon could target iAs Protect is not and finish him off, as not many common move on Kangaskhan carry Protect, making her reallyit is vulnerable in that aspect. The fact that itto doesn't carry Protect really often makesuble targeting; Fake Out sets extremely vulneraare also susceptible to other faster Fake Out users. If Kangaskhan hits heritself in confusion after getting its Attack boosted by Power -Up Punch bonus, you'it will also be dealing yourself as much damage as an Blade Aegislash hitting itself, allowingextremely easy for any kind of opponent to KO you backit.

**Strong Fighting-type moves**: Fighting is Kangaskhan's only weakness, and there are many -type moves, such as Superpowerful fighting types out there. But is not just fighting type Pokémon what beats, Low Kick, and Close Combat, are Kangaskhan, it is powerful fighting type attacks. As i mentioned,'s only weakness, and Kangaskhan needs a complex EV spreadis not able to survive a Low Kick from another Kangaskhan, andFighting-type moves like Superpower and Close Combateasily, especially because they are seen a lot in this year VGCextremely common.

**Iron Barbs/Rocky Helmet/Rough Skin**: This Rough Skind of abilities c, Rocky Helmet, and Iron Barbs handle Kangaskhan quite well, as you are likely to receivthey make Kangaskhan take 25% damage eachvery time you hit, and if yourit attacks; this is made even worse if Kangaskhan carrieruns Double-Edge the, which already has recoil you'l. The recoil received would leave you iill make Kangaskhan easily 2HKO range....to yourselfed.

it's been about 2 months and this still isn't done. i'm taking it over to push it through GP and i've implemented the above changes.

also fleurdyleurse , some of your formatting was really annoying to implement. stuff like this basically (taken from the usage tips of the first set)

in the back and go for the cleaning late-game, becaus well, as

i think i gave up trying to piece together some of the words you hid between the red ink, so i might've not implemented your check verbatim. i think other GPers have done this to me in the past, but this analysis got so much red ink it actually managed to piss me off a little. please, in the future, just cross a section out and put the words you want people to implement on the side; it's so much easier on me (i dunno about your side, but i'd imagine it'd make it easier on you if you do edits in smogon's text fields).

just some constructive criticism on your end. since im locking this you'll have to vm me if u wanna respond to it lol!!!!
