Is Forretress a Basketball or a Golf Ball?

This is a thought that has been bothering me for a while. Sometimes Forry is called the basketball at least amongst me and some of my friends. But when I think about it more, is Forretress actually a golf ball? It's shell at least in its 2d sprites look closer to what a golfball's shell looks like.

Is Forretress shaped closer to a basketball or a golf ball? Or perhaps some other ball entirely?
