So this had a lot of success the last time I did it, so I might as well do it again. Cp'ing from the original OP:


I'll try and put one song from each game mentioned here. If a game is already up here, that one song will probably suffice.

Anyone who has spent any good amount of time on a Pokemon game knows there is probably SOME PLACE where there is good in-game music. Sometimes whole games might haves a good OST.

My favorites so far are the first Mystery Dungeon Games (Red Rescue Team and Blue Rescue Team if anyone is wondering), and - honestly here - Black and White, which are the first games I myself have seen on par with Mystery Dungeon. However, a lot of games in Advance are really neat about some of their tunes, Champion Battle in FR / LG being one of my favorite examples. Best Game in Advance in terms of OST in my honest opinion is Gale of Darkness (XD). However, some of the old, 8-bit tunes from Silver and Yellow are really nice.

In terms of games outside of Pokemon, there are some interesting finds, especially in Super Smash Brothers. I can't really think of any off of the top of my head, but I will update when I can.

Quotes are failing me (hurrdurr iPhone) but I completely agree with breludicolo. Also, the mother series probably has at least 10, quite possibly 15 songs worth being on this list.

Can't forget things like On to Grasstown from Cavestory, which honestly has so many songs that are just as good if not better.

I'm sure things like Zelda and Mario will be covered but I'd like to mention stuff like Traverse Town, Game Point from Mario Tennis, and my favorite Touhou song, Nuclear Fusion.

Also for games with "real" music both Calling from The World Ends with You and Magical Girl from Jet Set Radio really shine.

Don't have a link on me but the F.O.E. music in the Etrian Odyssey series is fantastic.

And the normal battle music. You can hear the Demoman crying "Medic"~

Wind Waker's Mini-Boss song. Why? Because when I think of tense skirmishes in a fantastic setting, this is the kind of song I want to hear.

I liked this song when I first heard it. When I realized it was a boss song, I was kind of confused, but it QUICKLY grew on me. Now, I think this is a fitting song for a boss who is dangerous but also rather comical (For example, if you were to fight a Rotom). Bowser's Inside Story, the Boss Theme.

Speaking of Bowser's Inside Story, Final Boss. I tried as hard as I could to not listen to this song before getting to it, and I ALMOST succeeded. This really feels like a final showdown with a magical being. (The boss's "enemy gauntlet" attack is hilarious, by the way.)

When i got my first pet wolf in minecraft, i named him Halo after my first dog as a child. We ran fed him cookies, but then one day i was lost with him and it was sundown. Fending off skeletons and zombies, there was a Spiderjockey behind me. i didn't know but halo did, he ran in front of the aroow and saved me killed the spiderjockey, he whimpered then died... afterward, then this song started to play. I cried.
