Gen 7 HOOPA!!!!!

I recently discovered that hoopa is unbanned in ou due to (in my opinion) its speed, yet has busted offensive stats. This is the team I built around it.


Greninja @ Focus Sash
Ability: Protean
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Spikes
- Toxic Spikes
- Taunt
- Ice Beam

used for landarous coverage and sash breaking
the evs are picked to accommodate the goals
ice beam counters the best leads, and i'll use spikes if the opponent has a poison type; toxic spikes otherwise. taunt is for other greninjas.

Landorus-Therian (M) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- U-turn
- Stealth Rock
- Stone Edge

this is made to intimidate and provide coverage.
the evs help with revenge kills
u-turn is for revenge killing, and the others are coverage/charzard counters.

Hoopa-Unbound @ Choice Band
Ability: Magician
EVs: 32 HP / 224 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Hyperspace Fury
- Gunk Shot
- Fire Punch
- Drain Punch

The bread and butter. Its amazing coverage and choice band helps it futher.
With a base 80 speed, it needed speed evs.
the moves are for coverage, with drain punch helping it stay in for longer.

Tapu Koko @ Shuca Berry
Ability: Electric Surge
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Volt Switch
- Dazzling Gleam

With so many great water types, I choose it for volt turn and coverage.
the evs speak for themselves
I picked thunderbolt and dazzling gleam for stab, hp fire for weakwnd steel types, and volt switch to utilize hoopa's spdf.

Scizor-Mega @ Scizorite
Ability: Technician
EVs: 248 HP / 16 Def / 244 SpD
Impish Nature
- Swords Dance
- Bullet Punch
- Roost
- Knock Off

scizor has great synergy with hoopa's high spdf and scizors u turn, and I had no other planned mega.
once again, the evs should speak for themselves, yet the spdf is for tapu/random hp fire counter
this set is meant to ether revenge kill with b punch, or set up and annoy with k off and recovery.

Tangrowth @ Assault Vest
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 12 Def / 244 SpD
Sassy Nature
- Giga Drain
- Knock Off
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Earthquake

tangrowth provides some much needed bulk, and can help hinder stallmons
Its evs need no explaining
the moves are coverage, and k off is for weezing and other stallers
