[OVERVIEW]
Silvally-Ground is a strong setup sweeper thanks to its solid bulk, coverage, and offensive typing. This allows it to set up easily, as it can take neutral hits well and exploit Pokemon like Choice Scarf Togedemaru. However, it still has to compete with the other Silvally formes. Silvally-Fairy, -Steel, and -Ghost are often easier to fit onto teams with their defensive utility. Silvally-Ghost and Silvally-Water can also be more menacing offensively.
[SET]
name: Swords Dance
move 1: Swords Dance
move 2: Multi-Attack
move 3: Flame Charge
move 4: Rock Slide
item: Ground Memory
ability: RKS System
nature: Jolly
evs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
[SET COMMENTS]
Silvally-Ground is able to maximize its sweeping potential with Rock Slide's coverage in combination with its STAB Multi-Attack and Speed boosts from Flame Charge. Rock Slide hits Flying-types such as Charizard and Archeops and does more damage to Bug-types like Ribombee and Scyther than Flame Charge. Silvally-Ground is most comfortable with a defensive backbone that takes advantage of its typing, fitting best on bulky offense teams with Spikes support to better facilitate a sweep; this makes Froslass and Garbodor valuable partners. In return, Silvally-Ground can check Pokemon like Lycanroc and Magmortar, respectively, that normally muscle past them. Silvally-Ground can hardly do anything to Weezing and thus appreciates other wallbreakers like Nasty Plot Toxicroak and Mesprit to remove it. Choice Scarf Mesprit makes for a good partner, as it can punish Weezing and provide Healing Wish support should Silvally-Ground take a Toxic from Regirock or Glare from Sandaconda while setting up. Healing Wish support also allows Silvally-Ground to be more easily used defensively early-game, not minding damage from Garbodor's Rocky Helmet and Aftermath or chip from Togedemaru's U-turn. Mesprit appreciates Silvally-Ground checking Steel-types like Togedemaru and Aggron effortlessly in exchange. Silvally-Ground is able to also run a mixed Work Up set with Multi-Attack and BoltBeam coverage to cover the entire tier, most notably hitting Weezing significantly harder. However, it lacks the raw power behind Swords Dance and is harder to pull off an entire sweep with.
