Overview
########
  • One of the best revenge killers in the game
  • Terrible HP
  • Has hard time against opposing scarfers
  • Struggles against stall
  • Struggles against Bulk Up/Calm Mind users
  • You know the opposing set but the opponent also knows yours, making it easy to play around
  • Discourages opponents from setting up when seeing Ditto

Revenge Killer
########
name: Revenge Killer
move 1: Transform
ability: Imposter
item: Choice Scarf
evs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpD
ivs: 30 HP / 30 SpA / 1 Spe
nature: Relaxed

Moves
========
  • Transform. Not really needed since you're meant to be running Imposter.

Set Details
========
  • IVs allow Ditto to get HP Grass to revenge kill Huntail and Carracosta if they carry the move
  • If you are not running Choice Scarf you are better off not using Ditto.
  • Imposter is so you switch into the opposing Pokemon as you switch-in rather than having to actually waste a turn using Transform
  • Hidden Power Fire IVs (30 Atk / 30 SpA / 0 Spe) can be used to hit Grass- and Ice-type Pokemon such as Tangela and Serperior
  • Hidden Power Electric IVs ( 30 SpA / 1 Spe ) to hit Water- and Flying-type Pokemon such as Huntail and Mantine
  • Minimum Speed and maximum Defense investment help Ditto against opposing Ditto's in Struggle wars.

Usage Tips
========
  • Ditto should be only used as a revenge killer as it can pick off weakened Pokemon rather well.
  • It is also a good idea to send in ditto after losing a Pokemon if the opponent has accumulated a couple of boosts as then Ditto has a shot to sweep. You can also use a slow Volt Switch or U-turn to get Ditto in safely.
  • Don't switch into anything as the opponent can set up more on the switch or simply kill you
  • Toxic Spikes can wear Ditto down. Even if you come in on a Poison- or Steel-type Pokemon, Ditto gets poisoned before it transforms.
  • Sticky Web isn't a problem for Ditto as it does get the Speed drop but once it transforms into the opposing Pokemon, it copies its boosts/drops exactly after the Speed drop occurs.
  • Ditto gains the ability of the opposing Pokemon so it can in on Water-type attacks coming from Poliwrath to gain HP or Fire-type attacks coming from Ninetales.
  • Preserve Ditto if there is a setup sweeper on the opposing team which threatens your team that is still alive
  • Transform Ditto into a Pokemon that threatens the opponent for a late-game clean-up and sweeping
Team Options
========
  • As previously mentioned a slow U-turn, Volt Switch, or Baton Pass can be very beneficial to ditto so it can come in without harm.
  • Offensive Teams can prevent Pokemon such as Poliwrath and Serperior setting up Substitute.
  • Poison-type Pokemon such as Garbodor and Roselia to rid your side of the field of Toxic Spikes to prevent Ditto from getting worn down from poison once.
  • Teammates such as Roselia and Flareon are able to take a hit from Calm Mind Serperior or switch in on the turn it sets up and attack with Sludge Bomb and Flare Blitz.
  • Teammates such as Mantine and Pelipper which can come in on common Bulk Up users such as Poliwrath and Throh, provided they have Flying type STAB
  • Offensive Pokemon such as Golem can take care of Unburden Drifblim which Ditto struggles with by OHKOing it with a Stone Edge or finishing it with Sucker Punch

Other Options
########
  • Nothing but Choice Scarf otherwise you're relying on a Speed tie which is down to luck.
Checks & Counters
########
**Substitute**: Substitute users such as Poliwrath completely bone Ditto as it cannot transform as long as they are behind a Substitute.

**Ditto**: Ditto can't Transform into another Ditto.

**Bulk Up and Calm Mind users**: Calm Mind and Bulk Up users such as Serperior and Throh are getting bulkier as they boost up. Ditto has a limited amount of PP in its attacks so Serperior and Throh can take hits and continue boosting up, not to mention Serperior usually has Substitute and Throh has Rest.

**Unburden**: Pokemon such as Drifblim with Unburden get a x2 Speed increase when using their item however Ditto only gets x1.5 from the Choice Scarf meaning that it will still be slower. This is because Ditto will not get the Unburden boost since it has the Choice Scarf still.

**Play around the set**: The opponent knows exactly what moves that Ditto has so its easy to play around

**Paralysis**: Ditto doesn't like getting paralyzed due to its Speed being lowered and the whole point of using it to revenge kill becoming pointless.

Overview
########
Ditto is one of the best revenge killers in the tier due to its ability, Imposter, which allows it to switch in and copy the foe's stats, moveset, and boosts. Ditto discourages foes from setting up stat boosts, as it can copy them; however, it struggles against Bulk Up and Calm Mind users such as Poliwrath and Serperior, respectively. Ditto also struggles against stall, as it is usually locked into one move, disabling it from healing, not to mention its terrible HP stat and the fact that after transforming, each of its moves have only 5 PP. Ditto has a hard time against opposing Choice Scarf users due to them outspeeding it and Ditto being easy to play around, because although you know the foe's set, the opponent also knows your transformed Ditto's set; therefore, the opponent can predict the incoming attack.

Transform is the only move Ditto learns, but it shouldn't ever need to be used, as Imposter transforms Ditto into the foe upon switching in. After transforming into a foe, each of Ditto's moves only has 5 PP. With the a Choice Scarf, Ditto usually moves even faster than the foe it transforms into.

Set Details
========
The IVs allow Ditto to get Hidden Power Grass against Huntail and Carracosta, if they are running it, to hit them hard. The Choice Scarf is mandatory; if Ditto isn't using it, it has to rely on winning Speed ties to move before the foes it has transformed into, which is based on luck. Imposter is also mandatory so Ditto transforms into the foe upon switching in rather than wasting a turn using Transform. Hidden Power Fire IVs (30 Atk / 30 SpA / 0 Spe) can be used to hit Grass- and Ice-types, such as Tangela and Serperior, while Hidden Power Electric IVs (30 SpA / 1 Spe) can be used instead to hit Water- and Flying-type Pokemon, such as Huntail and Mantine. The minimum Speed and maximum Defense investment is to help Ditto against opposing Ditto in Struggle wars.

Usage Tips
========
Ditto should only be used as a revenge killer, as it can pick off weakened Pokemon well. It's a good idea to send in Ditto after losing a Pokemon if the foe has accumulated stat boosts, as Ditto has a chance of sweeping. Another way to bring Ditto in safely would be by using a slow Volt Switch, U-turn, or Baton Pass. When bringing in Ditto, you should choose wisely what attack it should be Choice-locked into, considering each of its moves only have 5 PP after it transforms. Ditto shouldn't switch into anything, as the foe could use that turn to set up or OHKO Ditto by attacking. Toxic Spikes can wear Ditto down; even if Ditto comes in on a Poison- or Steel-type, Ditto gets poisoned before it transforms into the opposing Pokemon. Sticky Web isn't a problem for Ditto, as it copies the foe's stat boosts and drops exactly. Ditto can take advantage of useful abilities when transforming such as Poliwrath's Water Absorb to give it an immunity or Altaria's Natural Cure to absorb status. All of these abilities allow Ditto to switch in with less risk.

Ditto should be preserved for late-game if there is a setup sweeper, such as Shell Smash Carracosta and Shell Smash Barbaracle, on the opponent's team that threatens yours. This is so Ditto can come in after one of your Pokemon have fainted and get the opposing setup sweeper's stat boosts. Ditto should be used to transform into Pokemon that threaten the opponent's team late-game, so Ditto has a chance of cleaning up by finishing off weakened Pokemon or performing a sweep.

Team Options
========
Ditto appreciates teammates that can take on opposing setup sweepers such as Mantine and Pelipper, as they can take on Bulk Up users such as Poliwrath and Throh. Roselia and Flareon can take care of Calm Mind users such as Serperior. Grounded Poison-types, such as Garbodor and Roselia, rid your side of the field from Toxic Spikes, preventing Ditto getting poisoned upon switching in and worn down as a result. Offensive teams generally work better with Ditto, as they can prevent foes from setting up a Substitute on Pokemon such as Poliwrath and Serperior. A slow U-turn, Volt Switch, or Baton Pass user such as Togetic can be beneficial to Ditto, as it allows Ditto to switch in without taking damage. Offensive Pokemon such as Golem can help Ditto take care of Unburden Drifblim by OHKOing it with Stone Edge or, if its already weakened, Sucker Punch.

Other Options
########
Ditto should only be using a Choice Scarf set, as otherwise it has to rely on winning Speed ties to move first. This strategy relies too much on luck and could cost you the match if things don't go your way.

Checks & Counters
########
**Substitute**: Substitute users such as Poliwrath are a pain for Ditto, as it cannot transform into them as long as they are behind a Substitute. If Poliwrath is behind a Substitute and forces Ditto to switch in with Circle Throw, Ditto is forced to either get OHKOed or switch out.

**Ditto**: Ditto can't transform into another Ditto. If the opponent has a Ditto that has already transformed, has stat boosts, and is ready to sweep your team, your Ditto can't switch in and transform into it. Therefore, the opposing Ditto has a chance to sweep if no Pokemon on your team can either outspeed or take a hit it.

**Foes that Can Boost Their Defenses**: Calm Mind and Bulk Up users, such as Serperior and Throh, get bulkier as they set up. After transforming, each of Ditto's attacks has a limited amount of PP, so Serperior and Throh can take hits and continue boosting up, not to mention Serperior usually has Substitute and Throh has Rest. Pokemon with access to recovery moves, such as Lickilicky and Avalugg, can wear Ditto down and use Wish and Recover, respectively, to stall it out.

**Unburden**: Pokemon with Unburden, such as Drifblim, have their Speed doubled after their held item is lost. However, Ditto will not get the Unburden boost if it is still holding a Choice Scarf, which boosts its Speed only 1.5x, so opposing Unburden users will be able to outspeed Ditto after their Speed boost.

**Playing Around the Set**: The opponent knows exactly what moves Ditto has, so it's easy to play around it. For example, if Ditto transforms into Rotom-F and the opponent knows that Ditto is most likely going for Volt Switch to gain momentum, they will likely bring in a Ground-type, such as Piloswine, forcing Ditto to switch out and give the foe a free turn to attack, lay down entry hazards, or set up stat boosts.

**Paralysis**: Ditto doesn't like getting paralyzed, as its role as a revenge killer will be rendered virtually worthless. If Ditto switches in on a Thunder Wave user such as Regice and gets paralyzed, its Speed is halved and revenge killing capabilities are all but gone, as it will be slower than foes it transforms into.

No time for a full check rn but a couple of things:
- If there's an IV spread that gives HP Grass while lowering Spe as much as possible, make that the main spread so that you beat / tie with opposing Ditto
- Take everything out of OO: the most I would accept there is a different Hidden Power, and even that's a stretch. Just say that Scarf is way too important: without it you're relying on a Speed tie.

Took everything out of OO but unfortunately there isn't an IV spread for HP Grass which lowers Speed :[ Here's the choices if you or any other QC member wants me to change:

For hidden power, the only thing that ivs need is odd/even. So any of those spreads with 1 speed will keep hp grass :)

a few things:

rotom-s isn't PU @_@

defensive rotom-f isn't really a thing, the only sets are really choice and subsplit.

while oo just saying "No." is funny, it would be best for the sake of the reader to stress how awful non-scarf ditto is since some people actually use that

sure ditto is vunerable to entry hazards, but not more so than most everything else so i really don't think you need to mention them. not to mention the fact that ditto is rarely going to be taking any attacks anyway so it doesn't even mind being worn down that much.

I would put in Usage Tips that Toxic Spikes will wear you down, and even if you copy a Poison or Steel-type, you get poisoned first before the transformation. On the other hand, Sticky Web does not affect Ditto at all since it copies the stats of the opposing Pokemon after the speed drop occurs. If you have any more stuff to put in UT, that would be great since Ditto is very nuanced.

You can mention other hidden power types in oo i guess :/
Done WhiteDMist and galbia! I wasn't too sure about other Hidden Power types in OO so correct me if I'm wrong :) I also added a mention of switching in against abilities in Usage Tips.

We've been discussing hp types and some of us think fire is better and some of us think grass is better, but this is minor enough that we don't need to hold up the entire analysis for it.

Anyway this looks good, pretty simple mon and there isn't really anything you missed. QC 1/3

Team Options could do with some work. You should mention that Ditto should be used primarily on offensive teams and have offensive teammates that pressure opponents and ensure that there is no active Substitute. Mention grounded Poison-types as teammates too to get rid of Toxic Spikes. Mention Pokemon that deal with BU / CM users as well as Unburden Drifblim, which Ditto cannot revenge kill. For the former you could list Pokemon like Roselia / Flareon to deal with CM Serperior, and maybe a Pokemon like Golem to deal with Drifblim.

Please also change the IV spread to a Speed-hindering one.

In addition, you could move the different Hidden Powers to Set Details. Give the spread for HP Fire to revenge Grass- and Ice-types as well as HP Electric for Mantine and Huntail.

Overview

- Doesn't exactly put a lot of pressure on opponents, so remove this point

Set Details

- Mention that min Speed and max defensive investment come in handy vs opposing Ditto in Struggle wars

Usage Tips

- You can say to preserve Ditto as long as there's a setup sweeper that threatens your team is alive
- You can talk about transforming Ditto into a Pokemon that threatens the opponent lategame and sweeping.
- I don't think the point about offensive teams fits here

Team Options

- Instead of mentioning specific examples of offensive Pokemon, just mention offensive teams because they are in greater need of a revenge killer and they are less likely to have opponents Sub on them. If you want you can list examples of offensive Pokemon as a separate point you can go ahead, but I don't feel it is necessary.

QC 2/3 good work!

It should be mentioned in the overview, moves, and in UT, that Ditto only gets 5 PP per move and when it is locked into scarf those go by quite quickly. Also add on to the Bulk Up / CM users that Pokemon with recovery also can get by Ditto, you should just change the point to users that can boost their defenses.

########
Ditto should only be using a Choice Scarf set, as otherwise it has to rely on winning Speed ties to move before foes it has transformed into, which is down to luck first. (period) This strategy relies too much on luck and could cost you the match if things don't go your way.

Checks & Counters
########
**Substitute**: Substitute users, (RC) such as Poliwrath, (RC) completely bone are a pain for Ditto, as it cannot transform into them as long as they are behind a Substitute. If Poliwrath is behind a Substitute and forces Ditto to switch in with Circle Throw, Ditto is forced to either get OHKOed or switch out, (RC) as it cannot transform. (already stated)

**Ditto**: Ditto can't transform into another Ditto. If the opponent has a Ditto that has already transformed, has stat boosts, and is ready to sweep your team, your Ditto can't switch in and transform into it. Therefore, the opposing Ditto has a chance to sweep if no Pokemon on your team can either outspeed or take a hit from it the opposing setup sweeper.

Pokemon with access to recovery moves, such as Lickilicky and Avalugg, can wear Ditto down and use Wish and Recover, respectively, to stall it out Ditto.

**Unburden**: Pokemon with Unburden, such as Drifblim, have their Speed doubled after their held item is lost. However, Ditto will not get the Unburden boost if it is still holding a Choice Scarf, which boosts its Speed only 1.5x, so foe opposing Unburden users will be able to outspeed Ditto after their Speed boost.

**Playing Around the Set**: The opponent knows exactly what moves that Ditto has, so it's easy to play around it Ditto. For example, if Ditto transforms into Rotom-F and the opponent knows that Ditto is most likely going for Volt Switch to gain momentum, they will likely bring in a Ground-type, such as Piloswine, forcing Ditto to switch out and giving give the foe a free turn to attack, lay down entry hazards, or set up stat boosts.

**Paralysis**: Ditto doesn't like getting paralyzed, as its role as a revenge killer will be rendered virtually worthless. If Ditto switches in on a Thunder Wave user, (RC) such as Regice, (RC) and gets paralyzed, its Speed is halved and revenge killing capabilities are all but gone, as it will be slower than foes it transforms into.

this is a little late but instead of stating Ninetales's Flash Fire (which it can't actually make use of because the opponent also has Flash Fire ;;) you could mention that Ditto can take advantage of useful abilities such as Poliwrath's Water Absorb or Altaria's Natural Cure. Darnell
