Why this set deserves to be on-site:
- Darmanitan is amazing at forcing switches from common pokes like Ferrothorn and Amoonguss, so setting up is remarkably easy
- Managing to force something out in sun is pretty much 'gg'
- Only the rare Unaware Quagsire can take more than one hit
- Even the bulkiest of walls go down in one hit
Additional Comments:
- EVs are relatively simple; 4 HP so Salac Berry activates after using Substitute and Belly Drum
- 252 Atk and Spe maximize offensive potential. Jolly nature is prefered so you outspeed up to neutral base 108's
- Salac Berry grants a much-needed boost to speed after Substitute and Belly Drum, although you could use Leftovers to negate sandstorm/hail damage
Teammates & Counters:
- Stealth Rock is almost required so Darmanitan can bust through Sturdy/Focus Sashes
- Dual Screens support is very helpful to make breaking Darmanitan's Substitute harder
- Ninetales/sun is a boon; sun boosts the power of Darmanitan's STAB and removes sandstorm
- Starmie/any other spinner is a good partner because this Darmanitan set hates hazards even more than usual
- Although rare, Unaware Quagsire is the only thing that can counter Darmanitan after it sets up
- About any fast Choice Scarf user can revenge kill Darmanitan once its Substitute is broken
- Anything with priority, i.e. Lucario, Dragonite and Scizor, can take out Darmanitan, although Substitute makes this more difficult
- Focus Sash Alakazam can revenge kill it, again, provided Substitute is broken
- Provided hazards aren't up on the opponent's field and it hasn't taken prior damage, Skarmory can take a hit and phaze Darmanitan out
- Sandstorm and hail can also kill Darmanitan through its Substitute
