Counter that RU Pokemon!!

Spiritomb@Leftovers
Trait:Pressure
EVs: 252 HP / 242 Def / 4 SAtk
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
-Rest
-Sleep Talk
-Calm Mind
-Dark Pulse

Spiritomb's rather interesting stat distribution lets it carry a variety of useful sets, but this one really just gives zero f%^#s about Golurk. Being immune to that scary Focus Punch and being bulky enough to make sure anything else is at least a 3HKO (Earthquake: 38.82% - 46.38% | Shadow Punch: 27.96% - 33.55%) whereas a +0 Dark Pulse hits back for 51.05% - 60.47% (and +1 for a beautiful 76.18% - 90.31%).
It's a shame that Spiritomb isn't a little faster so you could guarantee setting up right away (while awake) but with Rest+Leftovers you can stall Golurk out indefinitely and set up while asleep. Also, don't forget about Pressure, it may not seem like much, but it adds up.

Arbok@Life Orb
Trait: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
-Coil
-Gunk Shot
-Earthquake
-Sucker Punch

After 1 Coil and Intimidate, Arbok takes a paltry (27.59% - 32.57%) from Brave Bird. Additionally he does an impressive 70.92% - 83.22% with the added bonus of Coil increasing the accuracy of Gunk Shot to pretty reasonable levels. Earthquake is for general coverage and Sucker Punch is pretty sweet even though it doesn't make sense that a snake with no arms can learn a move with the word 'punch' in the title.

Try to counter it with something not on the last page or so, please. Or Steelix. Screw Steelix.

steelix and many others previously listed are very good counters, but as you requested

@Leftovers
Levitate
Bold
EVs 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD

Will-o-Wisp
Thunderbolt
Flamethrower
Pain Split

hardly takes any thing even from +1 Arbok

(31.5% max from +1 Sucker Punch)

after the burn, Weezing can kill it with LO recoil, pain split, and Burn damage alone, but if you wish to finish it faster... Thunderbolt does 28 - 33%

nanana here comes Camerupt!

Camerupt (F) @ Life Orb
Trait: Solid Rock
EVs: 40 HP / / 252 SAtk / 216 Spe
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Rock Polish
- Fire Blast
- Earth Power
- Hidden Power [Rock]

Immune to Will-O-Wisp and Thunderbolt, while taking nothing from Flamethrower. Doesn't mind Pain Split because it doesn't take hits, it loves nothing more than to sweep! Fire Blast puts a rather large 96.41% - 113.47% (81.25% chance to OHKO) sized dent in Weezing and it can also Rock Polish on the inevitable skedaddling Weezing to threaten whatever may come in.

Mantine (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Water Absorb
EVs: 248 HP / 8 SpA / 252 SpD
Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Rest
- Sleep Talk
- Scald
- Toxic

Mantine is not 2HKOd by Hidden Power Rock after Stealth Rock, so it can just switch in with ease and hit Camerupt with Scald, which always OHKOes after a round of Life Orb recoil or Stealth Rock, or Rest up and spam Sleep Talk. It will only be 3HKO'd by Hidden Power Rock if Camerupt gets maximum damage every single time, which makes Mantine a fairly reliable counter, especially since if Sleep Talk picks Scald, Camerupt is done. Oh, and Mantine actually outspeeds Camerupt before a Rock Polish, so it can come in to KO if Camerupt hasn't boosted up yet.

Druddigon (M) @ Choice Band
Trait: Rough Skin
EVs: 232 HP / 252 Atk / 24 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Outrage
- Superpower
- Sucker Punch
- Dragon Claw

self-explanatory; enough Speed to beat 4 Spe Tangrowth

Steelix (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Def
Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Earthquake
- Rest
- Roar
- Gyro Ball

Steelix can come in on Superpower, just barely survive the second one then proceed stall it out with Rest, finishing it with 2 earthquakes when it has -4 or -5 in defense and attack.

this thread needs more dancing pineapple ducks...

ludciolo @ life orb
nature: modest
ability: swift swim
Evs: 4 hp / 252 Sp.atk / 252 Spd
-rain dance
-hydro pump
-giga drain
-ice beam

this can come in any of steelixes moves as ludicolo resists both gyro ball and earthquake. from that point, it can choose to set up with rain dance or even go for the straight ko. (with rocks ofc, as sturdy prevents the ohko)

this should be hard (er) to counter...

please dont use cryogonal

not that hard (er) really

Tentacool (F) @ Eviolite
Trait: Rain Dish
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SAtk / 252 SDef
Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Rapid Spin
- Sludge Wave
- Knock Off
- Toxic Spikes

really takes like nothing from Ice Beam and Giga Drain and takes 32.4% max from Hydro Pump in the rain. Normally a 4HKO, but with Rain Dish, this makes it more likely a 5HKO in the rain. And with the effect of Rain Dish, still just a 4HKO even with Stealth Rocks down.

Step 1: Knock Off to cripple Ludicolo or the likely switch in.

Step 2: If Ludicolo stays in, it now does 25% max (Giga Drain manages an embarrassing 21.5% max) with Hydro Pump and Sludge Wave does 38 - 47%, always a 3HKO, but most likely a 2HKO after LO recoil or hazards. Or if it stupidly tries to Giga Drain some health back, a 3HKO.

If Ludicolo switches out, probably time to switch also, because it can probably OHKO you if it's hitting on the physical side.

As a side note:
I can understand why people might want to say
Don't use pokemon X or pokemon Y
because they are the obvious choices, but seriously, the obvious choices are the ones that will be used in a real battle. No one in RU is using Tentacool.

On that note! Can you OHKO Tentacool without hitting it on the physical side?

This stipulation is not because there is one obvious counter, but because any physical attacker (hell, even Sceptile can tank a Sludge Wave and OHKO with EQ) can counter this.

Cooky

Banned deucer.
On that note! Can you OHKO Tentacool without hitting it on the physical side?
probably, but it doesnt matter, whats tenta gonna do back? getting hit by its sludge wave the pokemon version of being thrown up on by a baby

for the record Skuntank is the coolest (mutherfuckin) counter around but yeah. Spattacker wise:

Magneton @ Eviolite
Trait: Magnet Pull
EVs: 156 HP / 252 SpA / 100 Spe
~ Substitute
~ Thunderbolt
~ Hidden Power Fighting
~ Charge Beam

immune to everything, sub for knock off. if tentas their last man you can be a prick and outdamage its rapid spin (134HKO) with hp fighting
because thats how you make friends
